I have been up and down the Treasure Valley checking out thrift shops looking for antique plates and decor for my house. I stopped in the other day to check out what kind of goodies they had. It was early in the day so it was pretty chill. It was nice to shop in an empty store. I checked out Ruby's closet since it mainly focuses on vintage antiques. I was able to score some really pretty China. I did also scope out the regular shelves and found some treasures as well. I was quite amazed at how many stunning pieces they had! My cart was full of them. I did stop in the next day to see what kind of new things were on the shelves. I did find a cute antique chair that would have been great in my living room. I looked at the price tag and was quite shocked at the pricing. The chair was 80 dollars! Who in their right mind would charge 80 dollars for a chair at a thrift store? I understand that it's old and considered vintage but 80 dollars is completely ridiculous. As fun as it was to shop here or any other Idaho Youth Ranch, it's almost disgusting at the prices they are charging. They are profiting off of donated items. The point of being a thrift store is allowing those who are on a tight budget be able to afford things that they need. With some of the prices that they are charging, you might as well get something new at Walmart. I did have good luck finding some stunning pieces today. But the following visit just showed me greed in their pricing. I hope that IYR would consider being more considerate on their prices. Nothing more annoying than seeing a non profit store take advantage of our local community. read more

I've been to this location twice and have always found amazing things! Beautiful furniture that I wish I had a place for. I normally look for kid items and today had some great ones! Staff has always been friendly and as helpful as they can be. It's always clean never messy which is nice. Good selection of clothing that isn't too worn out either. read more

The selection was mid and the prices are WILD, I found a lamp that was so cute and had that vintage look but when I looked at price thinking it might be 40 the most it was 84.99!!! For one!!I could get a set of two in new condition somewhere else. I looked online to see if the brand or type of lamp was special or expensive in general and that wasn't it, what made it even crazier was a reseller was selling it for less and it was in better condition. I get this is Eagle which is probably why they jacked up the prices but geez people this is a THIRFT store. I did buy a vinyl and the guy there was nice but definitely not coming here as I would like even though it is close by my work. read more

Although they consistently overprice things at this specific store- they also consistently get the nicer, higher end items at this store too. I'd definitely recommend a peak- inventory moves very quickly. read more

I just want to say we've donated several times to this organization due to the fact all the good they do in the community. Plus they had that bad fire last year which destroyed all they had in the warehouse, just trying to help them out. People complain about the prices but my experience with other thrift stores such as Goodwill is more expensive prices plus they are selective about what they will accept. I will continue to support them and have bought a few items in addition to donating. read more

thrift stores are no longer thrift stores. there are things that are great about this thrift store. i've been going here for years, but as time goes by the less i enjoy shopping here. the prices are getting out of control and i feel like everything i touch im disappointed in it's affordability. there was a thrill that came with hunting and finding that great deal at a thrift, but sadly that joy has faded and i no longer come out of the store thinking that it was a positive experience. unfortunate, and i feel this store is one of the worst. not sure what the solution is at this point. read more

This place is a ripoff. I was in there today and I saw two blue pyrex mini loaf tins...in rough shape. I picked up the darker one and it said $ 7. I did not even look at the light blue one's price and decided I would take them even though $7 is a little steep. So I got home and I then noticed that the light one was $16....are you kidding me. I checked online to see if I could have got a better deal from a reseller and found a really lovely pristine one for $14. They are far too greedy with the pricing. I saw an old doll there today for close to $60. I have been giving them all of our donations but I think that I will be donating somewhere else. Just because it is Eagle I feel that they are elevating the prices. I love thrifting but not at a place with ridiculous prices. The only good thing is that the check out lady was really lovely. read more

Very unimpressed with the prices of this thrift store. They seem to think they are an antique store not a thrift store. An example is I found an awesome glass and brass pitcher at a different Youth Ranch and paid $8 for it, great price. The very next day I came to this location and found the very same pitcher with a $35 price tag (the same price the antique stores have them for.) Just overall disappointed with the high prices at this location. read more

I had such a nice first visit today! I was worried that with the Grand Opening yesterday, there'd be slim pickins today, but I was wrong. I picked up two great cookbooks (for 65 cents each!!) and one children's book (again 65 cents) plus a nice Nalgene water bottle, a perfect piece of Tupperware, and a name-brand totebag. My grand total was under $7.00. I'm in love already. One thing that drives me crazy about the Youth Ranch thrift stores in general is how they price the clothing. For example, all kid's clothing is $2.95 (unless otherwise marked, which means even higher). I'm not going to pay $2.95 for a kid's t-shirt, but I might pay it for a nice kid's skirt or blouse. They'd definitely sell more kid's clothes to me if they had variable pricing for kid's clothes the way Goodwill or Saver's does. Two things made this particular visit exceptional. One is that the store (again, despite being hammered yesterday with customers galore) was so well-organized and clean. The other is the checkout experience. The clerk, Jessica, was a delight, and the new computers & look-up system for the membership cards made everything easy. I will be back soon. Very soon. read more

Ridiculously overpriced for USED items. I literally laugh out loud at some of their prices. I could buy new for less. God forbid they have something they think is valuable...and then it just sits there. I've seen their drop off lines, yet the store has very little in it. When I had 2 of the exact items - one was marked 5.99 and the other did not have a tag. When I brought it up front to pay for both, they had to do a price check because of the one that didn't have a tag which is understandable. When the manager came up, she told me that the other item was 19.00- for the exact same thing. She told me the other one had been miss marked and that I was getting a good deal. She was extremely rude and lacked any sort of customer service skills to say the least. Give me a break. read more

The items in this store are okay since it's in a nicer location but the prices are also more expensive it seems. And going in yesterday, there were 2 staff members at the front of the store sharing personal stories SO loud and every other word was an eff bomb. So inappropriate and unprofessional , no one wants to hear your rant. And when I went to the register to make a purchase, they continued for a second and said "you heard my whole rant huh?" And then continued to another customer saying "ew everyone is being so rude today." I could not believe the attitudes and the treatment! Probably will NOT be going back to this IYR read more

It might be a little bit more expensive than the other IYR shops, but the rich people from Eagle are donating their used stuff which mean you get high quality and brand names.... I often find stuff from Calvin Klein, adidas, .... read more

It's a nice store, very clean but because it's in Eagle everything is WAY overpriced!! The meridian and downtown Boise locations are actual thrift store prices but the thrift store that had the very best prices and good finds would be the DI, Deseret industries. read more

They are only open at certain times to accept donations so check before you go. The store itself is clean and well organized with a good variety of items in stock at any one time. Some of the prices seemed a little on the high side for used merchandise. read more

I typically like occasionally shopping here however, their prices have recently gone up, exponentially! Whenever I have anything to donate, I take it to Idaho Thrift (never the one that starts with "G") but today, after donating some items, I popped in to the store. Imagine my surprise to see a vest from a well known brand ( think Lands End or LL Bean) and it wasn't the most attractive color and no 'new price tag attached' but they priced it at $29.99! Yikes! C'mon people, that will never sell at that price in a thrift store ! The consignment store in Eagle (a well known one) has prices much, much lower for such similar items. Just sayin' and I do see other reviews mentioning 'over priced'...I'm all for supporting the youths but this is a 'THRIFT 'store! read more

Not only are their prices sky rocketing (hey people you are running a thrift shop remember) now it's taking 2-3 drives by their donation site in the back - they are only open for donations on a few days now, they are now so short staffed that they will just choose to 'close off the donation lane' saying they need to sort! It took me 2 days of trying and 3 tries in one day to donate - going to Goodwill now (and I so dislike that organization) but if this place doesn't change something, it's predicted more and more people will start taking their donations else where!!! read more

Eagle's IYR is by far the best in the area. It is clean, well organized, and staffed with friendly people. The only downside is that the prices do seem high for a thrift store. Good selections of name brand clothing, furniture, and housewares. I will definitely be back! read more
