They have us complete W-9 forms, suggesting we are subcontractors, but then treat us like employees by setting schedules, requiring uniforms, and at times, making us carry pepper spray guns or act as Act 235 officers. I initially stepped in to help because they were short-staffed for the Allentown Puerto Rican parade and then agreed to take on a few hours each week. However, the level of unprofessionalism displayed has been unacceptable. Frankly, they are fortunate I did not escalate this situation to the IRS or the Better Business Bureau.
