These courses might be great for someone who has their company paying for it but to me they're extremely overpriced if you're footing the bill and looking for a career change of any kind. Goes way too fast and it's just not likely for a 10 week course coming from no experience to become proficient enough to get a decent job in the field. The "advisor" told me no experience was necessary and the "front desk girl just finished that course and got a job". To me it feels like a lot of the for profit schools that tell you all you can do and charge a ton. There are basically free sites/courses that can teach you the same thing. I messed up and I accept that which is why I'm leaving this review to help the next guy/girl.

A+ for their Web Development Immersive Class…read more Before coming to General Assembly, I had little to no experience with coding. After 12 weeks of focus and hard work, thanks to GA, I have built a strong foundation for a career in front-end development by gaining exposure to a broad range of technologies. The intructors were fantastic. The experience they bring to the classroom taught us to think like developers by providing just enough guidance to maximize our time in the program while allowing us to struggle through obstacles the right way rather than taking shortcuts. I can honestly say I learned more during those three months than I did in college. Moreover, the outcomes team provided more than enough tools, and networking opportunities to land a job I was excited about. Make no mistake though, you will get out whatever effort you put into this course. Don't sign up if you're not ready to work hard. Beyond providing a hard skillset, this course inspired me to challenge myself and enjoy the learning process again. With each new project comes new puzzles to solve, and with each new language comes new obstacles to conquer and skills to master. On the whole, I'm thrilled to be graduating with the confidence to take on the ever-changing field of web development.

Since the pandemic, Austin Coding Academy has really gone downhill. Last-minute schedule changes…read moreand overall disorganization have become the norm. It feels like they still haven't figured things out, and it's been pretty disappointing. The curriculum feels outdated and links to a bunch of youtube videos, which I could have seen for free. Plus, some of my peers aren't where they need to be, so it makes group projects suck. They seem to care more about the money than actual student success. Most of the positive reviews are from years ago. The place used to have a great reputation, but now it's just not the same. Until they sort things out, I wouldn't recommend Austin Coding Academy. There are other coding bootcamps out there with much better reputations and outcomes for a similar price.

I just completed the intro…read morecourse, and I can confidently say that the intro course alone had a direct impact on my ability to secure a new, higher paying job that I love! Yes, there are 5 coding boot camps in Austin right now. Let me tell you what sets this program apart: 1. The Staff - The leadership and instructors at this school genuinely care deeply about 2 things. First, they care about you. They want you to succeed. They want you to make more money. They want you to take care of your family. And they do their best to make that happen through curriculum, project-based teaching, and networking. Second, they care about creating a workforce of people who can code well and contribute to the world. 2. They are affordable. Do the research yourself and compare, and these guys will still come out on top. 3. Last but not least, not only is the program designed for people who work full time, it is also broken into 3 10-week sessions. Maybe you're not sure if this is what you want to do for a living. Maybe you want to try out the first course and see how you do. You can do that here because you aren't forced into a long-term and expensive commitment. No matter what your education level may be (I never finished my Bachelor's degree), you can do this! I am planning on continuing this education, and you should plan on beginning it! *They are expanding to San Antonio, Dallas, and Houston as well.*

Bill Blackstone and the Galvanize crew are fantastic. They keep the space running great and full of interesting community events every week. Helpful, friendly, smart staff! Definitely worth checking out.

Are you looking for a Full-Stack Web Developer Bootcamp? if so, this is the perfect place for you…read more I'm currently in the Full-Stack program and I love it. I had no previous experience yet, I've learned so much in the last 4 months. They have great instructors, and the curriculum is well designed so you can have a very good experience throughout the program. We have instructors during the whole 6 months every single day, from 9 to 5 pm. They explain to us the topic of the day/week and then we work in different projects that helps us to practice the new stuff that we learn every day. The main reason that I choose Galvanize over other Bootcamps, is the timeline. Being a 6 months program I think offers you more time to wrap your head around new concepts and new languages such as JavaScript. In addition, you are a Galvanize member and get free access to the building even during the weekends. Another great thing is the support that they give you during your job hunting. They help you with the resume, cover letters and how to prepare for interviews. Personally, I've enjoyed very much my experience here, and I have nothing but great things to say about Galvanize.

If you're debating on coming here don't think about it... just DO IT! You won't regret it. DO NOT GO TO SCI-TX. I took HVAC there and that school is terrible. Dental Hygiene for example growth outlook is only 7%, as many dentist only want to hire oart time and no benefits. $87,000 is not worth it. I needed a ride from the neighborhood I loved in to school. Hitched a ride with a classmate! All it took was some prayers and an email! Not to mention! She has the BEST PLANTS IVE EVER SEEN! A MUST SEE! Andrea Anyubeana, there isn't anything he won't do to help you succeed, you come across troubles in your studies, he's your man! Someone told me he's leaving Concorde, that's a shame as well! He's smart, works around ANY obstacles, and cares about the success of the students first and foremost! He's quick to fix his mistakes and come to you when he's made one. I don't know ANYONE that can carry the load of 3 different jobs as a director like he did! He should have put a cot in his office lol! Angela Ortiz! Hands DOWN! The BEST Instructor anyone can ask for! She had so much patience for the new people coming in, figuring it out, broke down vocabulary from medical terminology to laments terms, there was NEVER a stupid question in her classroom. She NEVER treated anyone ignorant or talked down on anyone. We had questions, she was quick to break down the answer. There was NEVER the answer "because that's how it is".... Other instructors there, I didn't receive the same experience. It's a shame it was her last class! She's AMAZING! Makes the best strawberry cake around y'all! Nancy Garcia !!!! Thanks for making my dreams come true! Giving me the grace and allowing me to present myself and be nothing else! And telling me it's a beautiful thing who I am and what I've done to change my life and make it better. Telling me my smile and spunk lights up the room! To NEVER LOOSE THAT! Giving me the courage to do things I NEVER thought would happen! To calmly draw blood is truly an art! You instructed me, guided me when I screwed up, and NEVER made me feel inadequate or told me I'll NEVER get it. Encouraging words and constructive criticism in such a way that was receivable and helpful. You're a beautiful representation of how a guidance counselor should be! You supersede it actually! Live your dreams lady! Keep it up as well! Thanks to all of you who supported my dreams and the life long legacy I will carry as long as I live! I love what I do and who I've become today! Concorde made it possible... all of it!
