We waited in line for about 10 minutes to have the owner view our coins and tally up when he would offer to purchase them. (Slightly under melt value.) I asked him about getting the coin sent off to be graded, and he gave me honest advice "You could spend $80 to send it in and they might not grade it at all. This coin has been cleaned and has scratches. I wouldn't send it in." I appreciated his explanation and honesty. If I'd had more time I would have loved to have looked at the cases in the shop, filled with both new and historical goodies. They know what they're doing and they offer fair return on precious metals. Who looks at the back wall of a store to see their return policy? Also, the receipt they email you says all sales are final too, but you don't know that until later when you get the email. EVEN WORSE! I was looking at diamond stud earnings because I wanted the real stone. They told me that moissanite is a natural stone versus lab created. In fact, naturally occurring moissanite is extremely rare and most of the moissanite on the market is lab grown. No doubt, the earnings they sold me were lab grown. Emerald was chipped while in their possession. (The store manager after his inspection said the stones were "perfect" that they just needed polished up.) I have the receipt where it was not damaged. 5) The other ring the shank was destroyed and has to be replaced. 6) Charged $69/ring for resizing instead of the quoted $57. 7) Manager would not get off the call from his boyfriend to service us. I could go on and on... I Sent a letter to the corporate office...they called me back and was all apologetic...despite my troubles at that time all I wanted was to be refunded the $69 that they charged my for one of the rings. They said they wanted to get the store manager's version... They called back a couple days later and and it sounded more like they were trying to cover themselves for a lawsuit rather than satisfying a customer.. They told me that we signed a receipt stating that the ring was in good condition...if they have one it is a forgery!!!!! Bottom line no refund...now I want the costs of the repairs and the emerald!!!! I plan to sue them in open court... STAY AWAY FROM SAMUEL'S JEWELERS...not to mention we saved over $2500 on our wedding set at another competitor...same exact ring...in fact the diamond was a higher grade.
