There is nothing else like this campground! It is a fun and interesting destination trip. Animals abound; chickens, goats, sheep, Keets, pig, dogs, ducks and cats have the run of the place. Hear a rustle in the woods, it's probably Ginger the Kunekune making her rounds. There are two donkeys and a cow as well. The staff is flat out amazing, from Brian who often checks on me, to the family that runs the place. Spacious sites in a bucolic setting and the bonus is an Esther Williams delightful spring two miles away at the State Park. read more

I am giving these folks 5 stars - but one of my buddies camping with me would score them much lower. So, I guess it depends what you are looking for in a campground. Check in was easy, our campsite was clear, no bugs or refuse, and it was as easy walk back to he office with the showers and other general store type items. There was wooded space between the campsites - providing a sense of privacy. My only complaint would be those of nature... early in the morning some crows were very interested in what feels like our specific campsite and flying around the trees above it and cawing back and forth with each other. On the other hand, my buddy -who was an Eagle Scout in his youth- was not impressed. We had a primitive style campsite. No electric or water hook up where we were. There was a port-o-potty nearby- but if it didn't meet your standard you had to walk about two blocks to the general store. The showers felt more like hostel showers then camp showers. My take away was that his past camping experiences have been a lot more pampered than I am use to when I camp. I could easily camp here again in the future. read more

Had a beautiful day at this pristine spring . This time around I bought my own inner tube at Home Depot and had the park fill it up with air for a dollar. The entrance to the park was six Dollars and the tram ride to the spring and back was about five and change.Some people take the 40 minute walk but why not pay the tram and get as many rides as you want?The water was a cool 72 degrees. I was able to see countless turtles and even a baby Raccoon as well as blue herons and white herons. The tubing down the spring is one and half hour long. Best to get to the spring early as once the quota is met you cannot get in. At 8 o'clock am it's almost full . The hours are 8am to around 430 for the last tram ride. I love this place and wish it was closer to my home, if you get a chance try to go tubing in this beautiful park. read more

I will admit that booking this campground gave me anxiety. It was several hours from home, and a reservation guaranteed a site, not a specific site. Having a family of five and two in laws in tow, it is usually more reassuring to pick out your site. I had found this site simply from Kym (manager) responding to a post in a local Facebook camping group. I thought she seemed nice, and the campground seemed rustic and welcoming. I decided to book us in for two nights over the Veteran's weekend (Sunday/Monday). The booking process was very simple and old school. I emailed what we wanted, and they replied that they had availability and sent a link for the $20 secure site fee (we had electric/water, so this is required). It can be paid via Venmo or Paypal. They are old school and work via cash, so do not plan on using a card. Hit the ATM before you get close. We arrived a little later than we wanted (around 6:30). It was pretty dark. We followed the sign in the office to the host camp, right behind the rec hall. It was simple. The check in process took all of five minutes and we were sent to our site, which was 17 and right next to the rec hall and bonfire pit. We also ordered up two piles of firewood to start. They charge $5 (cash) and deliver right to your site. We couldn't see the site well since it was dark, but it was clearly huge. We had no issue setting up our 12 man and 4 man tents with plenty of space to spare. When we woke up in the morning, we realized that we could have easily slept 50 people or more at our site. The site was private (cars provide a nice wall from the single opening) and wooded. They provided two tables (not crappy ones) and a big fire ring. The site had several trees that were good for hammocks or clothes lines. The water and electric were in a pretty logical spot and could easily reach anywhere in the site with a long enough hose or cord. The campground itself is really no frills. They have a rec hall with OLD arcade games (this is a good thing), pool, foosball and air hockey. They have a jukebox with some country and rock choices to get your bones moving. The bathrooms are single person, one for each sex. They are kept immaculate. I ran into the grounds woman, and noted to her that I had never seen a place kept so clean. She told me that she is a retired nurse, so it makes sense. They also have two single showers. This is camping, not the Ritz. It is exactly what is needed. We did not run into any wildlife issues. We did have a lot of bees, but they were not too bad. Ants were abundant, but again, this is Florida. The hosts were very nice and humble, and provided local recommendations for tubing and canoeing. The roads are well maintained and the place shows an overall sense of love. They are located just a minute down the road from the North entrance of the State Park. We look forward to coming back here in the future. read more

Back in February, I was here to do some kayaking and I had an absolutely marvelous time. The water was crystal clear and we saw a few manatees as we kayaked. There's a lot of tubing here in the summer seasons, so it may get busy -- but in February it was absolutely perfect (and the weather was great -- not too hot, but around 80). The only negative is now I'm sitting here in Buffalo and wishing that I had access to a river with so much awesome wild life. Don't get me wrong -- there's some nice kayaking spots with crystal clear water nearby, but I won't get to see those gentle giants over here. I highly recommend doing some tubing / kayaking along here! read more

I am rating the place not the people. I have no issues with the people that run the place I just want to give my opinion because it may be useful to you when you are looking for a place to camp. We stayed at Ichetucknee Springs Campground for 3 nights. If you want to camp there you should know they only have one women's and one men's bathroom, one women's and one men's shower and they are located at the entrance in the game area. There are porta potties throughout the campground but get stinky and disgusting really fast when there are a lot of campers. They do not have sewer hookups but they do have electric/water upon request. If they are going to have so many tent campers and no sewer hookups they really need more bathrooms. It is just not practical in any setting to have one bathroom for hundreds of people. We liked the site - we stayed on 6. It had electric and water and was a short walk to the bathroom. read more

First time camping and I couldn't have been more pleased and relieved after our Memorial Day trip. This location site has a camping host stay on site all day, they have a camp shop, bathrooms and a shower on site for individuals to use during their stay. To add it's only two showers and one stall in each bathroom but the modern work is there. I loved the idea of coming camping and using the facility to buy what was needed short minute, waking up early to go and have the comfort of sitting and enjoying the space for a short time. The staff that works there are kind, caring, and alert of all things that need to go through the routine. I enjoyed the space on our site as we had electricity for the plugs to get our camp operating with some modern perks. But the site was beautiful and spacious and clean, the staff operates hard to maintain a lavish area for visitors that arrive. They host a breakfast ever Sunday for free! They ask for small donations as it all helps to contributing to children and family activities on site. While there we had a visit from Bumblebee our favorite autobot! They had a scheduled bonfire for all the families, but with the weather being so dry it had to be cancelled. For the kids and young adults they have a game room with a small arcade and three pool tables. I was blown away from the camping experience, but also with the love and attention this camping ground provides to their visitors. So happy I visited and came through! read more

What an amazing campground. The spaces are very beautiful and clean and they strictly enforce the quiet hours which is great if your not a degenerate. They have animals that roam and live on the grounds and you can pet and meet them it's awesome. Met the owner of the camp when walking and he's a good stand up guy. 2nd time camping in northern FL. I enjoyed Ginnie Springs way better at Devils Eye. But this one is decent too. At this place they have events, karaoke on Saturday our group was there. Rentals, kayaks, tubes, and more for the water fun. Fire wood Is $5 a bundle. $10 per person for camping. At this campsite u have to reserve a spot. We were at Spot H. Good lot to have your camp spot. Cold in the early morning. So bundle up around this chill season. Front office has game room with arcade games and pool table. They do have showers and Bathrooms near office. read more

***EDIT TO ADD 2017: came back to this campsite for another trip, and it was just as great as before!*** This was my second time camping and I have to say I loved this camp ground. I called to make a reservation about 2 weeks before the date I wanted to go camping and they had spaces available. They called a few days before the reservation to make sure we were still going, which was great because I had a few questions to ask, which they answered. The campsite was gorgeous, we had #17 and it was huge. We had two cars and three tents and still had so much room! The park is like a 2 minute drive to the springs, which were so gorgeous. It was a very secluded campsite but still close enough to the bathrooms. The bathrooms and showers were very clean, only 2 bathrooms and 2 showers but I never had an issue with waiting, they were empty each time I needed them. I'm assuming because there were a lot of RV campers, they had their own. They had portapottys also which were really clean, and perfect if you just needed to take a pee in the middle of the night. I would say the only downside is the firewood they sell, they're under a tarp so they were kind of damp from the morning dew so they weren't very good for starting a good fire. We went to Walmart to buy some firewood in a bag and it worked out much better. In the end we had an amazing time here. read more

I would score zero stars if I could. My family and I called and made last minute reservations for Labor Day weekend 2016. A tropical storm had rolled through and we wanted to confirm the campground was open, operational and not flooded. They said everything was fine and they were open for business. When we arrived they told us the power was out. So not only no power also no water at the site and NO BATHROOMS since the water was on a well system which needed, wait for it.... power to operate. All there was for bathroom facilities was a few porta potties or the bushes. Also no showers. At no point during our phone calls did they reveal this. They waited until we arrived Friday night and it was too late for us to go elsewhere. Sandbagged! We were not offered any apology, refund, or partial refund. Basically they had our money from when we booked and they didn't give a damn that we weren't getting what we paid for. If I have a choice between this campground and spending the night at a bus station I'd choose the bus station. The bus station would not lie about no power. Also if the bus didn't show they'd give a refund. Avoid this place. read more

Worth the stop for anyone even 2 hours away for here. Go for the tubing down the river. The water is spring fed and CRYSTAL clear. We saw hundreds of fish swimming in all directions around us and turtles. The group ahead of us even touched a manatee that was passing through!! Get a tube from any of Lowe's (not the home and garden store) locations along the road to the park, cheap and great tube rental that you leave at the park after you've floated the 3 1/2- 4 hours down the river. Convenient! The water is a bit colder than you first expect but easy to adjust to once you get your butt in the tube. Everyone needs to tube down this Park's river at least once in life!! Along with that the rangers are all very helpful in directing or answering any questions you might have and even the bathrooms are super clean. This park does frequently close when there is overcrowding, go on a week day. We went on a Monday at the end of May, good time to go. They also have kayaks and canoes if tubing isn't your thing :) Enjoy!! read more

Was bicycling thru, but came in on the otherside of the state park, so I camped at family camp. Store. Beer, laundry. This camp has beauty, a club house, 10$ camp spots. Be warned, about the dirt roads to get in, about 1/8 mile. I did it not loaded, but could be fanangled loaded. read more

Awful customer service. We did not feel welcomed. Manager pulled up on his golf cart to SCREAM at us because we asked about our electricity twice. He thought himself better than us and believed that we should be grateful to be there and grateful with what he gave us. He definitely did not want us there. My party of three families enjoyed our stay. The primitive camping was away from the lodge, 3/4 a mile from the Ichetucknee springs head and our dog was allowed to camp with us! The children also liked the entertainment in the lodge and basketball court. A few improvements I'd look for in the future, less poison ivy, an additional bathroom, and clear instructions of the payment. read more

Horrible customer service! We reserved a campsite with electricity, confirmed days before and were charged for it when we arrived. However, we were given a site without power so we asked about it twice to clarify that they were going to somehow provide us electricity. Once we thought everything was settled and were setting up, the manager comes to our site to yell at us because we asked about the power. He insulted us and just worked himself up into a frenzy. He definitely doesn't know how to treat customers. Needless to say we packed up our gear, got our money back and left. Never setting foot on that campground again. read more

I wish I could select 0 stars. This business is extremely unethical in how they operate. I went camping labor day weekend with my boyfriend and had a very bad experience! the campground had no power until Sunday morning! Every time we inquired about it, they just kept telling us that it would be back on shortly. No bathrooms, no shower and no water! My boyfriend has called Summer many times, but no one has given us a call back. This campground should have been closed until the power was back on! They kept reassuring us with FALSE Facebook statuses claiming the campground was perfect for camping. I want my money back! We had camped at a non primitive site and paid double that weekend for the power. They are not answering their phones because I am sure they have NO intention of refunding money, this is terrible business and I will make sure I let friends,family, review sites, social media and anyone who will listen how bad their service is. I ended up leaving to another site that did provide what I needed. ***Friends that stayed at nearby campgrounds had no issues receiving their money back. read more

These people are the worst!!! I would not recommend anyone to go here! We made a reservation for Labor day weekend, but Friday morning the whole area was under TROPICAL STORM ALERT. They kept posting on Facebook that the campground is fine, when it was not. We have friends living 15 min away from the site, and they told us that it was pouring rain the whole day. They didn't want to refund our money, but they did it for other people ( that supposedly work for national guard). They blocked us from leaving comments on their Facebook page and deleted our previous comments, they hang up the phones when we called them, they were rude with us and disrespectful!!! They keep replying on our comments with the same lies, but be careful, what they say it is not true! The worst customer service I have ever seen from a company!!! They are privately own and they think they can do whatever they want and treat people with no respect. They didn't write on the confirmation email anything about "the refund policy". They have this shady procedure for Labor Day weekend, where we had to book with this lady Summer, that now she never answers her cell phone. When we called the campground, they told us that because they did not do the reservation, we have to deal with Summer, and hang up on us. We wrote the check for the campground, not for Summer. They own the campground, so they should be the ones answering our requests, because they cashed our check. Today I saw on Facebook another comment from a lady that actually was brave and went to camp there over the weekend ( even on the tropical storm alert) and she was saying that the conditions that they had to stay in were horrible!! they had no electricity, no bathrooms, no showers!!!!!!!!!!! she even says that the campground should have been closed that weekend!!!! so there you go, comments from people that actually went and were miserable for 3 days! She also wants her money back, but no one is answering her phone calls, of course. What else can you expect from these horrible people?? STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE AND FROM THIS COMPANY! If you want to go to the Ichetucknee National park, find accommodation elsewhere, you will be better off. read more

I booked the campground for Labor Day weekend, but due to the tropical storm that was hitting that area for the weekend, I asked to cancel and requested my money back. The campground denied my request even though the whole area was under a tropical storm watch, I took to Facebook to express my concerns and still got no where, they ignored my comments and ended up refunding another lady her money because she said she could not make it due to her husband not being able to go anymore, right on Facebook, underneath my comment. while still ignoring me , then they end up deleting all my comments and bad reviews on Facebook as well as block me. I see now why this privately owned campground only takes cash transactions, they ended up keeping the money and will not respond back for a request for a refund. If you are to book here, please ask to just send a deposit and pay the rest up front, these dealings are kind of shady and the people that work there have been pretty rude. We just stayed at Itchetucknee Springs Campground this weekend and were surprised how large the sites were, how quiet it was and how friendly the people working there are. They're great. Prices were very low and they are just a few minutes from where we wanted to kayak - we'll be back many times in the future. PLUS,they found our laptop when it was misplaced!
