We gave David creative freedom to design a classy "40th" (4D) birthday design for my wife Diana. He really delivered, it was a hit and showpiece of the night. Hands down the best piece of decor you can get for any event. People are drawn to this art piece for photos. There is an option to add a funnel for shots, regrettably I didn't add. It's a must for next time! Thank you David, Ice Illusions for your amazing talent & customer service. I'm an event planner and had to throw a 500+ ppl public celebration for a restaurant's milestone anniversary. Some elements that weren't in my favor: 1) less than 2 months before event 2) Chinese New Year timeframe 3) find a better ice sculpture than the one the client had last time (esp since the news, the mayor and some celebrities are coming) David not only killed all my fears but he killed it with his design, price point and promptness. He saved the day by saying YES, had jaws dropping (even the VIPs/celebrities were oohing-ahhing) and was super prompt with delivery and setup. He's now one of my Preferred Vendors and I recommend him to anyone looking for a kickass attraction with A+ quality and service. Thanks David for bringing this event up a notch!! 5 STARS :)
In late 2019 I had booked Ice Illusions for my wedding in October of 2020. What a whirlwind we withstood! Despite all the craziness the pandemic threw at us both (is there even going to BE a wedding?) I was confident that this little glamor detail was going to be handled with care and detail. Once confirmed the wedding would go on, we figured out the design via email and some phone chats, and he delivered it perfectly, on time, and even sent me progress pictures from start to set up at the venue. It was a huge hit with our guests. Thank you David, I can wait to have more parties and include more of your amazing art.

I wasn't sure what to expect when I hired Ice Illusions for our company holiday party, because our logo has so many colors. But I sent it to David and just let him run with it, and I didn't see it until I got to our event. It was so much more than I could've imagined! The full color logo was in the block of ice, along with our company name. He made the process so easy, and the price was very reasonable. I would definitely recommend Ice Illusions for any ice sculpture needs.

The bartenders poured shots and drinks through the luge the entire night, and everyone thought it was so epic. We truly loved David's work and were so happy that he brought our hippo stuffed animal to life on our wedding day. We were also impressed that the ice sculpture fared extremely well outdoors, especially considering the 90+ degree heat. By the end of the night, our hippo barely melted and still looked pristine. We had so much fun working with David and highly recommend Ice Illusions for any event!
David was literally the easiest person I worked with on my wedding day. He made us a Butterfly sculpture, with a design that was above and beyond my imagination. The ice sculpture was the highlight of my wedding; it was great to see my guests in awe as they walked by and took pictures of it. We had an outdoor wedding at Saratoga Springs and it was a pretty hot day. David was concerned that the location we had picked would be too sunny for the ice. He contacted the venue directly, scoped out the area on the map, and recommended a better, shadier location. He also coordinated with the venue to make sure he can get an extra wine barrel golf carted to that spot for display. After he confirmed that everything would work out with the venue, he gave me a call to check if I was ok with his plan and made sure that I didn't feel forced to doing it. He was even apologetic of the fact that he was calling be on my wedding day. I'm glad he took the initiative and that I trusted his judgement. The ice lasted all night, even on a summer evening. He has great customer service and made my day more even more magical. I can't wait for another big event so I can hire David again!

David at Ice Illusions is amazing!! We found him randomly (thank you Yelp) back in 2015 for our wedding. I wanted to surprise my husband with an ice luge. It was a huge hit. Fast forward to this weekend when I wanted an 80s themed luge for our joint 40th party. He delivered yet again. There were so many fun stations and places to grab your attention, but the luge became the star of the night. Our country club doesn't allow shots, but we somehow convinced them to let us take shots (versus the bartenders pouring your cocktail through the luge to make it cold and into a cup). That wouldn't have happened without the awesome luge!! read more

I turned the big 3-0 and wanted to go ALL OUT for my birthday. I decided to celebrate with a bang and order a custom Hello Kitty Ice Luge from David Fong at Ice Illusions. Not only was the ice sculpture the highlight of the night, but doubled as an ice luge to chill my drinks! There were several other ice sculpture vendors that I had seen on yelp, but Ice Illusions had the most consistent reviews. Also, after speaking with David, I felt that I had picked the best vendor and was assured that everything would turn out perfectly for my big bash. I didnt know what the process would be for something like this, but the professionalism that i received was spot on. You tell them what you want, they draw up a sketch, then if you need to make some tweaks, they send you the re-worked sketch, then you sign-off on it. Ice Illusions was very accommodating with the many questions that I had and with my delivery requests. I needed the ice sculpture to be delivered as late as possible and they definitely met my needs. Yes we did and yes we got another ice sculpture masterpiece from Ice Illusion as a fishing touch of elegance to my Daughter's elaborate Christening event! Since I had been so impressed with David from Ice Illusions and he is my go-to- guy whenever I want an ice sculpture or when someones asks me if I know of anyone,I immediately called him when I started planning my Daughter's Christening. I told him that I wanted a Cross Shaped Ice Sculpture, he worked with my budget and gave me a discount since I was a loyal repeat customer. David made an amazing ice sculpture for our wedding! We were not sure what we wanted but his artistic ability is incredible. He came up with the idea based on the information we provided to him and our them for the wedding. The sculpture was incredible and really was quite the hit at the wedding. I would highly recommend him for anyone interested in any type of ice sculpting! All of my family was amazed by the sculpture. Thanks again David! read more

The Optimus Prime ice luge was a hit at the 30th birthday party. It was expected that we would pioneer the party scene but everyone wasn't sure how until they saw the ice luge with blue lighting and two spouts. It was a great night to remember and the iconic Optimus Prime ice luge has set the tone for the fabulous years ahead of us. My initial words to David over the phone were, "... would be my standard request now my out of this world request would be the transformers." Speaking directly with the artist made the difference and the final product was absolutely recognizable and will be remembered. The pricing was also great and his flexibility to fit my order in on short notice has left a great impression. read more

David Fong is a MASTER at sculpting ice - a true artist! I saw him first hand carve a block of ice into a magnificent statute of a phoenix at the Exploratorium a while back for an event. It was amazing to see him create this piece of art from a huge block of frozen water. He puts so much detail into each piece - it's crazy to believe it's all made out of ice! Definitely call him if you are ever in need of a piece of frozen art - you won't be disappointed. read more

David is a ice-sculpting genius! We had him do a martini luge for our wedding in the shape of the Empire State Building (my husband and I met in New York) and it was beyond our expectations. Everyone at our wedding raved about it and people had the best time drinking martinis out of the luge. Before the wedding David and I corresponded by email and he was extremely easy to work with. His prices were also very reasonable (I shopped around before hiring him). The martini luge was a total crowd pleaser and we're so glad we did it (I will try to post a picture of it). I would definitely recommend David for anyone looking for an ice sculpture/luge!! read more

I CANNOT SAY ENOUGH!!! Firstly David is awesome to work with, very responsive by phone and email, and with the very short deadline we had to get something done and very little input from us he came up with an AMAZING ice luge concept that looked even more stunning in person on the day. Lets just say that his work pushed our client appreciate event over the top. The second big piece is that he provides such great customer service, and we are a hotel so we live and breath customer service, from the initial consultation and design to the delivery and set up / staging and lighting to the breakdown and collection. He is a pro all the way and one that we WILL use again and will most certainly recommend to clients and customers holding events at our hotel looking for that special something to really make a WOW impression. David created an amazing sculpture for our wedding. During Kim's bachelorette party, her friends made a scrapbook for her. One friend created an image of a cat holding hands with a ninja. (http://i.imgur.com/IWbaL.jpg) Kim loves cats and I'm a big fan of ninjas, so we thought it would make an awesome addition to our wedding if it were in ice! So, Kim sent the image to David at Ice Illusions as a suggested design. David took the design and told us he had it covered, making it one less thing for us to worry about while planning the wedding. What's cooler than amazing ice sculptures? The artist himself, David Fong! Hired David for Zoho's Developers Conference we had in at the Embassy Suites SFO Waterfront! I first heard of him from his amazing job doing live ice sculpting at the Facebook anniversary event. Took a while, but tracked him down from the event team at FB and was a bit overwhelmed at the price for live sculpting due to having to create a studio working environment. That was unfortunately out of our budget. Then, he also discussed that it can be prepared in advance and delivered for a more affordable price. He was very hospitable and was willing to work with our budget in this regard. I'm thrilled to have made it happen. He threw in complimentary lights which match our four logo colors perfectly too! The other competing vendors that I also explored just do not have the level of courtesy and professionalism as David. I ran into a lot of, take it or leave it offers. He also comes from a family of ice sculpting, how bad ass is that? The rest of us are figuring out building blocks and Legos. He's working chain saws and chisels. Ultimately, very happy with David and his art, excited to work with him again. Deal in confidence, David will definitely bring the WOW factor for you,,, on ice! David is a spectacular artist, working magic in ice. We had a corporate event and needed to work within a tight budget and had asked for a lot. Davis was very accommodating, working to get our design plan and larger format executed flawlessly. Then he delivered it to our downtown office high rise wrapped up tight.. what a hit. We had a competition for the coolest event / station and we won everything with our Ice Luge.. oh ya!! (see Olympic Ice Luge picts). Davis is a great partner and works well within corporate requirements for reimbursable expenses (receipts/professional descriptions, etc). I HIGHLY recommend David from Ice Illusions. The ice luge he made for us was a HUGE hit at my bf's 30th birthday party. When I say HUGE, I mean everyone and their mothers (friends, bar staff, strangers) came to stare, touch, take pictures of it, and some even asked if they could bring their own shots and use it! The bf loves Transformers so our ice luge was Optimus Prime's head with a happy bday message on the bottom (pic included). It was bigger than I expected (20x40" I believe), 200 pounds, and the design was very detailed.. everyone was just blown away. The ice luge did its job in getting everyone happy & drunk. By the end of the night, it looked like it had barely melted (there's some solid ice in there!). Our party had some fun disposing of it in the streets (ie. boys being boys) :P For the size & perfect detail, the price was very reasonable. As for working with David, that part was a breeze. David's super nice, very easy to work with, responded to all my emails on the same day, and was very accommodating in meeting us after his normal drop-off hours (since our party started at night). It's obvious that he's passionate about his work and genuinely cares about the satisfaction of his customers. Many people asked for his info at the party so I'm sure he'll be getting some new customers soon :) read more

David at Ice Illusions is more like "David Blaine" The Ice Magician.... He did a fantastic job for our 2011 Madden-Mariucci "Battle of the Bay" Bocce Tournament. John Madden & Steve Mariucci loved it...the centerpiece was memorable accent to the event. Guests, photographers and even the cheerleaders told me it was amazing ;) David's communication was the most important aspect that stood out to me! Wow, such an amazing talent David has! We were all blown away when he showed up with the halloween theme ice luge ...a tombstone! It was definitely the highlight of our halloween party! :) The ice lasted ALL night long in perfect condition! Hands down, I would recommend him for any parties and events! read more

When I first met David 10 years ago through a mutual friend, I found out about his talents and told him that when I get married, he's going to create an ice sculpture for me. Sure enough, he did! I'm not saying this just because he's my friend...truth be told, he is definitely talented. I've seen his work via website, but have only seen it in person once at another friend's wedding. Getting an ice sculpture wasn't originally in our plans, but I'm so glad that we changed my mind. Even my fiancé, who didn't know about David's talents, was pleased with the idea and outcome. The ice sculpture was a great addition to our reception entrance decoration and an added highlight to our candy bar table. Guests were amazed at the idea and concept, even elders who didn't even knew about such a thing. Contacting David via email to request an ice sculpture was an easy process. All he needed from me was my wedding information and design concept. Once he got the idea, everything was in his hands from there. David delivered on time and above expectations. I only wish I could keep the sculpture forever, but that's what pictures are for. I would highly recommend going through Ice Illusions if you're ever looking for an ice sculpture for your wedding, birthday, or special events. I sent David this picture and he created the EXACT replica - with battery operated lighting, so no cord management was needed. Set up was about a minute, seriously. On time and perfection in execution. I trusted him and he delivered. Small issues with the order system, but David worked with me to keep the flow of information continuous (*THANK YOU!) Im really happy with his work. I need to create more events where I can use him again. read more
