When I…read morearrived at 9:30am, there were no employees working the check-in desk, but the scanning process was fine. It was not busy in the lounge, and it is quite pleasant here. To the right after you enter is the main food / drink area. There's self-service champagne which I love. It is a bit early for champagne for me normally, but I went with it today. :) to the left are more individualized work stations and a quieter atmosphere. The bathrooms and showers are also to the left. The hot food selection was kinda meh. Eggs, bacon, beans, little dry hash brown patties, congee, broccoli with no taste, fried rice with no flavor, etc. the charcuterie board was lovely, and the little cupcakes were cute. There is a decent drinks selection, several nice coffee stations, and a fantastic loose tea selection as well. There are sleek private bathrooms, and shower facilities. I'm It is a very pleasant lounge. I just docked a star because the food was not as sophisticated or elegant as I hoped. Solid WiFi. The employees that I came across were friendly and they were keeping the place looking tidy. Overall, not a bad place to spend an hour or two at CDG terminal 1. Peace.

Jamie W and I spent our last two hours in Paris here, and gratefully it wasn't as crowded as other exclusive airport lounges. There was plenty of seating available, and they even had an outdoor patio if you didn't mind the constant roar of jet engines (Photo 3). We took advantage of the complimentary lunch buffet even though it had the presentation of warmed over plane food. The meatballs and potstickers weren't too bad (Photo 8). Otherwise we just took advantage of the free WiFi to upload our photos. Au revoir, Paris. RELATED - Exploring Paris? Unfortunately, the Air France lounge in CDG Terminal 2E L was a major letdown. The showers were the biggest issue. Broken or missing knobs on the shower doors, visible black mold throughout the grout, and body hair on the walls made it feel like the space hadn't been properly cleaned in a long time. The toilet seat in the same area was dirty, the hair dryer didn't work, and the room itself felt unbearably hot. This is not what you expect from a premium international lounge. The rest of the lounge wasn't much better. Many of the seats were worn, torn, or stained. The carpets had visible stains. Food options were pretty poor overall, and both coffee machines were in disrepair during my visit. There is a rest or sleeping area, which I was fortunate enough to get access to, and that was the one redeeming feature of the lounge. Compared to other lounges I've visited, especially American Airlines lounges or the Flagship Lounge at CDG, this doesn't even come close. The difference in cleanliness, upkeep, and overall experience is stark. The only reason this lounge earns two stars instead of one is the staff. Everyone I interacted with was pleasant and kind, which helped soften what was otherwise a frustrating experience. Overall, this lounge needs serious attention to cleanliness, maintenance, and basic amenities. For a major international hub and a flagship airline, this experience was far below expectations.

So might as well splurge and hope it's decent. The staff here are friendly and welcoming (you paid), unlike the Air France lounge at JFK (hostile and unbothered). Plenty of seatings, food options are decent... hot food and cold items, has like a wine bar and snacks. The bathrooms are clean. Coffee/cappuccino machine was ok. Got myself chips, cold cuts and made a sando... Honestly, overall... if you have a few hours to kill, this is worth it to just have a comfy place to rest.

While in Paris, do not forget though this is a German airline lounge, you are unlikely to find weineschinzer here, instead, you'd find excellent apple tart (No, Bar Tartine on Valencia is not nearly as good, and this just some simple stuff served at the airport lounge.) In the morning, it also serves quiche, different kinds, eggs and sausages. For lunch I tried their carrot corridor soup, very mild and delicious. Not to mention, endless French wine to drink. The salade and cappuccino here all very acceptable. The lounge services gate 60 to 68 which means it's never crowded. I'm tired of the Centurion Club in SFO, geez, you need to expand. Free wifi, that's given. Here is the thing, which I'm sure I don't need to say but just in case, you are wondering, if you are star alliance gold you can access Lufthansa Senator Lounge, even if you are flying economy. I don't always remember using it so I thought I should mention in case you are wondering. Drink some bier while at it. It's right next to the Admiral's Club and was quite a bit less crowded. It's basically one large room with a buffet and beverages lining one side of the wall. There is quite a bit of seating including Cathay's unique "Solus" single seats which are sort of a very small private enclave with a table. Power connections were ample though are not the universal type meaning you'll need an adapter in you have US devices. WiFi was quick enough and easy to connect to. There is no separate first class area in this lounge. Food selections were standard Cathay including a small counter where you can order some of their famous noodles. Plenty of booze was out even at 10:00am; the breakfast selection was a mix of Asian, European, and western (ie congee or sliced meats or sausages and hash browns). If you're flying AA this will probably be a less crowded choice for you though nothing like Cathay's flagship HKG lounges.
