In preparing to contact regarding a replacement pillow, upon closer inspection it was obvious the orange/gold pillow was used. The tag was washed out, and the pillow itself had lint from something blue. I contacted the company and asked for a replacement for the wrong product, provided pictures showing the obvious error, and provided the UPC codes for the pillows. Upon receipt of the requested information, I was informed that they had refunded the price of the incorrect pillow, the business did not have the ability to provide a replacement product, but I was free to order another and they would as COURTESY waive one-time the shipping for the replacement. However, they did not really have the ability to waive the shipping fee, I would have to pay it first, and THEN they would waive it when contacted. This was an online purchase, and I have NEVER had such an awful purchasing experience, and I certainly will NOT do any more business with them.

The only one who was nice to us when we were shopping there was chastised in front of us by her coworkers; we decided to buy a very expensive chair from her. When it was ready, 9 months later, we had just replaced our furnace to the tune of $15k, and then our car needed $5k in repairs, and then my husband lost his job, so they generously allowed me to make monthly payments. Fast forward to a year past the time it was ready, a year of making small monthly payments that I couldn't afford with just my salary supporting the family of 4, payments that only added up to about half the full price, i got a call and was told I must pay the remaining balance or pay a restocking fee with the payments I've made so far. They said it was taking up space in their warehouse...its not a large chair, at all, a round swivel rocker, fits one butt...It's a great chair, but next time I'll go directly to the manufacturer, make sure these people don't get any of my money.

She told me that I could try replacing the zipper pull first, and that I could get a package of them at Joann's. I have never really had great customer service experiences at any fabric or craft store, but I figured if I could save some money and do it myself, I might as well try. The following experience at Joann Fabrics made me remember why I avoid these stores. When I got to the store, I eventually found the area with full zippers but didn't see just the pulls. There was a girl restocking some zippers right near where I was standing and I was sort of waiting to see if she'd ask if she could help me find anything. She didn't. So, I asked if she knew if they carried any single zipper pulls and she said, "We don't have a big selection" and then showed me one decorative zipper pull and said, "This is all we have." I knew that couldn't be true, so I pulled up the product listing on the Joann website of what I was looking for (replacement zipper kit with assorted pulls). I went and found a different person working there who seemed like a manager (had a headset on) and showed her the picture on my phone and asked if they carried this item. She said, "That's really expensive, it's $16. You should just get the zipper replaced." Hmm... okay, that wasn't really what I was looking for, so I asked again if they had the item. She said, "Yes, but it's really hard to do yourself, you have to find the right size and it's really just easier to replace the zipper." I am not a tailor, but I do know that there's no way that's true. Replacing a zipper is no small task. I asked if she could show me the item and she finally took me to the right area and the whole time was still telling me I should just go to the tailor up the street and have them do it for me. I'm really not sure why it seemed like she was trying to convince me to a) not spend my money at this store and b) spend a much larger amount of money to have something replaced at a different business. It was a super weird interaction and she really seemed less than excited to help me actually find the item I was looking for. Then when I went to pay, the cashier was the girl who told me earlier that they didn't have what I was looking for. She said, "Oh, you found it." At this point I was just laughing to myself at the strange level of customer service I've received and got out of there as fast as I could. When I got home, I watched one YouTube video and replaced the zipper in less than 10 minutes.
