Inexpensive, centric location with good service
Amazing location to reach your favorite attraction either through the Southwark Underground Station , double decker bus or taxi.
The Jubilee line took us to Baker Street in 15 minutes and in less than 10 minutes we were looking at the Big Ben.
ROOM
Just like another Ibis in Paris, liquid soap is provided (no soap bar ). Unlike the one in Paris, iron and iron board are provided.
There is an independent Air Conditioning unit for each room that turns off automatically after 10 hours of operation. I'd recommend being wise on how to use it since rooms get warm during the summer, to avoid it being turned off in the middle of the night.
There is one single cube with three 220V outlets and 3 USB ports to charge your electronics.
You'll also find a tea pot and cookies in case you want a free, light breakfast.
Beds are very simple but do the job. Just like another Ibis in Paris, there are no light sheets, just heavy covers.
SERVICE
Attention to clients is what makes guests come back to a location and recommend it.
Even though glasses in our bathrooms were not replaced (Nor in Paris, probably an Accor policy) and me and my family were rudely kicked out of the dining area by Arturo upon our arrival, recognition goes out to the following hosts:
Abijit: For standing up for us when Arturo was rudely kicking us out, allowing us to finish our dinner from Fishcotheque .
Nadia: For keeping us refreshed with vital water every day, specially during a heat wave.
Jorge: For giving us a gourmet tour and detailed description of all the options offered during breakfast .
Marina: For ensuring we had a comfortable last day in London , offering to keep our luggage and working hard to ensure our transportation to the airport made it on time.
AMENITIES
Free WiFi is fast and much appreciated!
Breakfast is not included but for £11.5 per adult or £5.50 per child (5-11 years old) one gets to choose from croissants to fresh fruit to a full English breakfast , until 11am.
And although there is no restaurant in the hotel for lunch or dinner, there's one next door in the Novotel hotel, also is part of the Accor line of hotels . We signed up for Accor ALL online to get discounts when staying across Europe.
We had to get a double and a triple room to accommodate our party. The triple is the largest room and that's a downside of this property. Although at an average of £109 per room per night in July, we couldn't ask for more.
