It's a bit of a stretch calling this hotel Ibis Mitte.
Technically, it might be in the district of Mitte, but for all intents and purposes, it's in Prenzlauer Berg.
It's much closer to Schönhauser Allee than it is to Friedrichstrasse.
There is nothing special about this hotel. It's an Ibis, what more can I say? It's like trying to review different branches of McDonalds.
The location is not very nice down at the beginning of Prenzlauer Allee, a street which gets steadily grimier as you progress north.
If you get hungry, there are very few options close by. There are a couple kebab shops and a chinese imbiss up the road, but if you want anything fancier you'll have to walk up further into Prenzlauer Berg or towards Alexanderplatz.
However, there is a petrol station next door, which is convenient for drinks and snacks.
As for the staff, I found them to be pretty cold and unfriendly.
But I can't be too harsh on them. If I was working behind the desk at an Ibis I wouldn't be a very happy camper either.
Ultimately, Ibis does what it says on the tin. It gives you a modest room for a modest price. read more
