They help with family crisis and disaster relief efforts in our area. They also support toys for tots an give Easter and Thanksgiving baskets to the needy. If that weren't enough, they have an enlarged store since I was in there last, full of BARGAINS, BARGAINS, and also in the back of the store is a THRIFT STORE with even more AMAZING items and values to be found. Cora, the owner, a beautiful, Jesus-loving woman spent time explaining the core ministry there and how the booth rent works should you be interested. You can sell your vintage housewares, clothing, jewelry, furniture and the like. Darlene at the front counter was amazingy helpful as well. Foot traffic on the newly revitalized 7th St. E. is just amazing with Marco's Pizza (yum!) directly across the street and a new exercise place next to Marco's that I just happened to notice when shopping in the area. It's exciting to see that part of the old, original downtown "Hendo" rapidly growing and thriving!!! Do yourself a favor and stop in and check it out. I am so impressed. I bet I spent two hours in that place! Even the music they play is "vintage!" I am so excited that the heart of Amazing Grace's Ministries is based on biblical principals. Matthew 25:35-36. I've really lucked out in my search for Vintage American pottery. In addition, there are linens, handmade items, furniture, jewelry, art work, handbags, curios, antiques, furniture, vintage items and more. The shop is clean, well lit, nicely arranged and does not smell like mold or mildew, but also does not reek of potpourri or candles. The staff is friendly but not intrusive; you can browse without being pressured. The two times I've made purchases, when I asked about discounts there were none. There is an adjacent parking lot with spaces right at the door. Be aware that when leaving, a left turn onto Greenville Hwy (hwy225) is difficult at certain times!

This is the BEST vintage store I have ever been in, and I do a LOT of vintage shopping, from NY to FL. I was completely knocked out by H of K because: 1) They have larger sized women's clothing! Several dresses that were probably size 10-12 which is super rare since most vintage is size 2-4. 2) They have men's clothes - a lot of them. Most vintage stores have a lot of women's items and hardly any men's, but H of K is about 40% menswear. 3) EVERYTHING is in immaculate condition. The prices reflect this, but nothing I thought was out of reach since you're buying one of a kind, well made clothing. To be clear, this is vintage, not thrift. Some of the items are up to 100 years old, so you can't expect it's going to be $5. 4) Woman working there was so nice! Not pretentious, not pushy, not overbearing, but welcoming--and very sweet when I asked if I could take pictures for my review. 5) There is NO junk or random crap - it's obvious that someone has a keen eye for beautiful things and thoughtfully puts them together in collections. When we visited, there were selections of kimonos, smoking jackets, leather capes (!), summer dresses, etc. What's amazing is that it would be 8-20 of each "genre" so you have a pick of colors and sizes... it's not just one random cape or top hat. There's also home items sprinkled throughout, but in a way that is intentional and curated (like the wool camp blankets in the men's section, vintage quilts near a small section of kids' clothes, selection of aluminum thermoses by the outerwear). 6) I collect vintage women's hats and the selection at H of K is exquisite. Very fine examples of 40's/50's hats in absolute mint condition, and fairly priced. I went a bit bonkers taking pictures of everything - this shop is an absolute dream, and I wish I lived closer so I could visit every weekend. House of Kismet is an incredibly rare combination of incredible items and friendliness.

The store is set up very well and you can maneuver through it easily; it is NOT one of those stores with junk piled everywhere. It is clean and arranged neatly and the items I looked at were washed (blankets) and dusted (furniture). They have a perfect mix of everything from collectibles, to antique tools, to vintage china, and furniture. Their prices were extremely reasonable and all offers were considered. They also have an entire warehouse of additional items that include lots and lots of vintage furniture and chairs. If I had had a trailer with me I could have purchased 3 pieces of nice antique furniture and several antique chairs for less than $1000. If you are looking for furniture for your home or to repurpose, I highly recommend Eagle Eye! If you've been before and didn't find anything, I would go back. She was politely insulting. She couldn't seem to pick up on body language that her comments weren't well received. She would be insulting with a smile and follow up with saying "no offense." For someone who was apparently an office manager at her last job (from what she told us as she divulged tons of personal information), she clearly must have lost her filter or ability for respectful conversation. When we made a comment about Charleston (my hometown) she started laughing, and I could tell something insulting was probably about to come out of her mouth. I warned her about potentially saying something even more insulting because I'm from Charleston. Plus at this point I was highly irritated with her. I would never talk to potential customers they way she did. Will never go back and would never recommend this place. Definitely drive to Asheville for a better antique experience where you're treated more respectfully.
