This is so far the best school I've seen for cosmetology and nail technicians, they have great teacher who really do care about yoir learning and make sure you get the book learning and then the actual practice on your mannequins, or clients. Over all the ambience of this place is great, everyone is so nice and kind and they make you feel like you're at home. I would have picked a better school to go to it feels like I belong in this school. read more

I tried this beauty school for a facial once after discovering it while shopping at Joo Boong in the same plaza. I was new to the area, and with the winter weather, my skin was getting very dry and breaking out more than usual, so I decided to schedule a facial. When I arrived, I was welcomed by someone who seemed to be either the teacher or the owner. A student performed the facial while the teacher observed and occasionally offered guidance. The place was clean and you can get haircuts and nails too. The treatment itself was extremely mild--honestly one of the mildest facials I've had in over 20 years of getting professional treatments. It was an ok experience for trying something new, but it didn't leave much of an impression. read more

I came in for my very first haircut and eyebrow waxing. My hair is limp and havent been styled in a long time. Tony did such a good job with my hair. I love it and I'm definitely sticking with him! He styled it, gave it volume. And it would be minimal maintenance for me. I told him I was a wash and go kinda girl. And the way he styled it is perfect! My eyebrow shape is nice as well. Quick and easy. Yea Im sticking to IM Beauty. Definitely try them out! read more

I LOVED my entire experience at IM Beauty School. My sister told me about Tony and Isabella after letting her know I needed a glow up. We quickly made an appointment with Tony. He was able to work with my thick, coarse hair and gave me exactly what I wanted based off of my inspiration photos and my budget. He truly is a master stylist not only in the way he was able to lift my hair from my natural black to an ashy blonde, but to the way he blended my butterfly layers, fixed my DIY bangs, and took the heavy load off my shoulders by magically thinning to create more flow and lightness to my style. While I waited for my hair to "cook," the staff there was incredibly kind and accommodating offering a water, coffee, and even snacks while I waited. I HIGHLY recommend them for any beauty needs and also for schooling! I saw Tony in action training a student and they were patient with them and always explaining in depth the process and the why. The salon was clean, the staff was knowledgeable and professional. I felt welcomed and comfortable as soon as I stepped in. I was incredibly impressed with it all and obviously LOVE my glow-up! Such an amazing facility that offers a wide array of services as well as schools/ learning options. I want to see this business do well, as the employees and owner are such sweet people. You can tell everyone is skilled and passionate! They offer many different certificates and licensing opportunities and classes. Very clean and cute school, I came here for an event and I see myself coming back for different services! I had a facial, which was succhhh a treat! I came right after a long work day and I was so relaxed I fell asleep for part of the facial!! The facials massage and neck massage are my favorite, it was an hour of pampering. Highly highly recommend giving them a try! Can't wait to be back for my next service. read more

The ladies here are Ahh-mazing! I've been raving about this spot for months to my friends and family. It's a hidden gem since not many people know that they do client services here at the Beauty School. I first noticed this spot when I went to Joong Boo Market for some lunch and shopping. I wasn't sure if they did client services so I ended up looking at their website and found that they did EVERYTHING! I decided to go try them out and had gotten my hair highlighted. From my past experiences, I've had great luck with Korean hair salons because they know how to work with Asian hair. Since my hair is dark and straight, they're familiar with what it needs without it having to be a multi-step process of bleaching and coloring. The process didn't dry out my hair or make it brittle. It was nice and gentle and the color lifted nicely after the toner. Since then, I've been here for pretty much every service that they offer. I've gotten my mani/pedi done here and even though I get the no chip nail polish, my nails have never looked and felt healthier! Normally no chip does a number on my nails and they end up being super thin and weak after one application but for some reason, my nails were still nice and strong! This is my go to spot for all of my beautification needs and the best part is that it's at a fraction of he price of what it would normally be at other salons! I've been back here once a week for various services and I don't feel guilty treating myself because it's so affordable. I am so grateful to have found this place and even though it's about to get super busy for them, I don't mind sharing this hidden gem because they really are amazing! read more

On May 23rd 2023, I got a magic straightening treatment at I'm Beauty School. It was my first time trying this treatment , and immediately after, my scalp felt strangely rough. I wondered if it could be normal for it to become like that with a new magic treatment, so I just took pictures and kept them. However, a few days later, whenever I combed or wash my hair, it started falling out like crazy, almost as if I had developed hair loss. Since I live in Georgia and had no plans to go back to Chicago, I thought this salon made a little mistake and it would be fine. BUT I WAS WRONG. I had to wear a wig or hats for eight months. I had bleached hair, and since this salon was the only one that claimed to be skilled and could do magic straightening, and had good Google reviews, I thought it was a reputable salon and went there. Later, feeling too upset about my hair so I tried other salons, and those who saw the condition of my hair said it was a treatment that should never be done on bleached hair. They were so concerned that they even offered to go with me to confront this place. I'll upload pictures of my hair that was broken and cut. I just thought I should wait until it grows out, so after eight months of wearing wigs, it's now too frustrating. It's even difficult for me to wear a wig. People who see me ask if I cut my hair myself, and it's making me feel depressed. Please never go here; all the stylists at other places say they are not skilled professionals and lack basic knowledge. I hope no more victims like me come out. Don't learn beauty at I'm Beauty School Glennview; it's a place that makes your life difficult for years for a few hundred dollars. read more

I've been coming here since March 2021 for a hair style, cut, and dye. Also, for an eyelash extension. My friend recommended me this place. Isabella did my hair for all those services. She's so sweet and understanding. She knew what would look good on me. She cut my hair that framed my face really well. She also styled my hair that stayed and lasted the whole trip. It was gorgeous! I came twice to get my hair dyed and both times it looked amazing! Exactly what I was looking for! The eyelash extension was done by someone else, but it looked amazing.
