The bus shelters leak in parts, but have bottom rests. Coaches visiting usually drop off and pick up opposite the Kiosk. The Tourist Information Center is between the Bus stops and the center of town, next to the Laurel and Hardy Statue. The Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway is a fantastic narrow gauge railway that runs up and down the…read morebeautiful Eskdale valley between Ravenglass and Boot. Most carriages are open but some are covered for when the Cumbrian rains come. Most trains are steam hauled by amazing scale models of steam trains - though some services are diesel hauled. Boot itself is a small village (visit the fantastic Boot Inn while you're there) whereas Ravenglass is a fairly sleepy seaside town with a beach area, shops, pubs and restaurants. A fantastic day out is to cycle down the Eskdale cycle path (much of it off-road) from Boot to Ravenglass and then put your bikes on the train and get hauled back up the valley to your starting point. Note though that to carry bikes on the train you do need to book ahead to ensure that they have space available.

They have the concession for selling train tickets, and will try their hardest to find a convenient route at the right price. They also do all the other things from Cruises to Coach trips, via package holidays. I find the atmosphere there relaxing and also noticed a coffee machine in use for another customer.
