On my receipt guy mad my brass into elec mot. the different motors on my receip. when I went up to talk to the cashier, he was no help and didn't care. insinuating, yea, so what. I have never been to a scrap yard and they were amazing and very helpful for a beginner. I highly recommend this place.

I am assuming that I was shorted on my transaction by nearly half. I brought in 4 clean aluminum 15" car wheels and was paid $23.10. I had weighed them at 16 pounds each; but, lets assume I was high. a similar 15" wheel listed online as 15.4 pounds. Let's assume mine were 15lb and the ticker price today on the buyer website is $0.64/pound. That would result in 4x15=60 pounds. 60x 0.64= 38.4. So, I suspect that they shorted me on the wheel's weight or on the price per pound. Not worth a confrontation; but, I won't be back. read more

I went in today and dropped off a whole 220 pound motor just to get $10 bucks when it should have been around $95 bucks. I wouldn't recommend coming here just to get ripped off for a few hundred pound of motor pieces just to get $10!!! very bland when it comes to describing pricing per pound and customer service over the phone is dog shit read more

I submitted an email on their contact us website link asking a couple of questions about bringing in a four drawer file cabinet. No one seems to respond, in general, so why do I bother? So, a couple days later I called, and asked the same questions. The lady was pretty rude, and during our conversation, her office radio was very loud, too loud to converse. I asked her how much a four drawer file cabinet would bring. Simply wanting to know if the endeavor is worth my while. She said metal is .07 a pound. I asked if they have any tips to get the drawers out, so I can bring it down. She said they accept them in one piece. Okay, but I can't load it up in one piece. She stated they don't do any pick ups. I said "thanks for your trouble", and hung up. Ugh! The conversation wasn't good, especially with the radio blaring. I may just dump it in the dumpster here. So much for recycling and saving the planet. Turn your radio down so you can answer calls in a professional manner. read more

I found them to be consistent and fair. I have been bring aluminum and copper for over 2 years now. The worker helps me unload the scrap from my car, and places on the scale. Their website is helpful in determining prices for scrap. The ladies in the office are friendly. The location is good. Easy to get off and back on the 202. read more

I just had a bad experience at this place. Beware! They will steal from you. I brought my copper in. Agreed upon a price then when they paid me it was much less. When I asked the cashier about it she immediately went ghetto and started yelling while being confrontational. After asking a few questions about pricing and my percentage that they could not answer. That's when I realized they can't do simple math. So I chose to walk away. I worked at a much larger and more successful recycler for over a decade, so I UNDERSTAND the way it works. There are other recyclers with integrity in phx. Unfortunately this is NOT one of them. Please do yourself a favor and choose another! read more

They will steal your money I brought in 30 lbs of copper #1 and 27lbs of copper #2 and only got $119 and when I told the guy at the desk he said get off the property and wouldn't even talk to be just kept yelling next!!! This place is hit or miss. Some days they pay really well and other days not so much. Material that is brought has to be thoroughly checked to get the full price of Scrap. Ex: aluminum scrap might have steel rivets or screws or vice versa. I have seen people get upset because of this it takes some work sometimes to get full price. This is my two cents on this. Only my opinion. Everyone has different experiences here. The staff works hard within the elements. read more

Went to this recycling facility after I called and received a price over the phone. When I arrived and started unloading they decided to change the price on me after there was already an agreed price. I was upset and told them they were being ridiculous. An employee in a bright green shirt called me a "stupid nigger" when I started to load my stuff back up and leave. Not what I would call a great place to do business. I chose to bring my steel here for two reasons. Reason 1: When I called, the employee was very knowledgeable and informative. He patiently answered my questions and was very friendly, unlike some other metal recyclers I called. Reason 2: I Buy Scrap offered the best price (well they tied another) of the four places I called. The visit: I pulled in, walked up to the cashier window and he told me what to do. Again, this employee was professional and courteous. After weighing in, I was told where to unload the scrap, I weighed in again, collected my cash and receipt and I left. Easy. He even told me how much metal I dumped and how much my vehicle weighed (I was curious!). I went somewhere else a while ago and they expected me to know where to go and what to do and an employee walked off with some of my aluminum with no explanation and I never got a receipt. I had two catalytic converters I removed from my car to get recycled. I pulled in to get them appraised, and they would offer me $20 for both of them. I politely declined, and found another recycler that gave me $150 for both. I don't know about other materials they recycle, but I would stay away if your looking to get a fair price for catalytic recycling . read more

Watch out for these guys. They ran the original scrap yard out of business and now that they are the only real large scale scrap yard option in the immediate area, they have no incentive to be fair. Today I scrapped 36 pounds of 2 gauge stranded copper and they priced it as "welding wire" which was $0.30 less than 65% ROMEX. This wire was more than 85% copper by weight! When I approached the guy, he just said "you can take it back" (which would have been a hassle). Watch your back...or try the new scrap buyers around the corner. I will give them a shot next time. read more

We brought in 130 lbs of aluminum, of which at least 30 lbs was aluminum that was not cast, but machined and we received 15cents per lb. and he said it was cast, i was around machining for 20 years, so we argued with the guy that it was not cast but machined but he ignored us, and the dirty aluminum we had 7 lbs of and he gave us 50 cents a lb. He also gave us 50 cents for 1lb of the clean aluminum....where is the logic here? I have been ripped off. This is not top dollar and I urge you to call around and find someone who will be fair in their pricing of your scrap, because this place feels they can set their own prices regardless of what they really are. They get top dollar when they sell it. You do not. read more

Had some copper roofing material to recycle. First time working with salvaging scrap metal and wanted to teach my 12-yr old son the value of used materials, but didn't know where to start. From the first phone call, to showing up, to negotiating a price, these people were patient, knowledgeable, helpful and fair. Offered the price we expected after doing some online research.
