And she gives all kinds of discounts, say if your dog is a rescue, or you're fostering it, or you've put another one of your dogs through her class. Her classes are held at Hollywood Feed on Broad at 10:00am and 11:30am. You do have to pregister though. She takes PayPal, which I love! You ever have one of those math teachers who is so good at math they can't possibly explain it to you because they don't understand why you don't understand? That is the only thing to be aware of with Donna. Her understanding of dogs is so deeply ingrained in her, it seems like sometimes she doesn't understand when we human students don't get it right off, so it's possible you may feel chastised from time to time. Don't take it personally. The important thing is that your dog will NOT feel chastised. All of Donna's training methods are positive, and the dogs in class usually really enjoy themselves. She gives reading for you to do at home, and checks that you do it, and she has a "no excuses" attitude, which I like. She emphasizes that most behavior problems dogs have are most likely because of the owner, not because the dog is stupid or stubborn. I think her approach to training is perfect because you can't just take your dog to six classes and it will be trained. You have to work with him or her continuously. Donna helps people arrive at that realistic realization, and I think that is a huge step toward preventing owners from surrendering their dogs.

That is when the name Jesse Thrower was change my life for the better. I had no where to turn and no prospects. I was directed to 600 Poplar to begin finding services. This man was patient, he had kind words of encouragement, he made me laugh and all in all was able to make me believe it was going to turn out alright in the end. So fast forward a couple years, I am a success story. I have even been able to return the favors he bestowed to me by donating back. He is a wonderful, proper, caring individual. His guidance and insight is needed desperately when the chips are down. He never sugar-coats anything. But that man, Mr. Jesse is a God-send. Without him, so many more would be less than they are now. He keeps tabs on his "kids". He cares. It is a beautiful thing when he cares like a father. He cares when no one else does. I have been to the other mission. There was no help. All the help I received was from 600 Poplar. Mr. Jesse is in charge for a reason. He is the best to help you out to see long term how to fix the problems you are in. You do have to work but he will help you if you put in the effort. God bless him always and keep him safe! We need leaders like him!

If you work with him, he will try to help you to become what you need to become. It is up to you what you become of but he has blessings of clothing donations and whatever the public can bring. He sees the need and tries to balance the donations to needs. the goal is to become self-sufficient so you must go in thinking about your own personal goals and how to obtain them. He helps but you need to start your life quickly. Poverty knows no color, it knows no race and it burdens even the best of us. When you can finally look past yourself and find the happiness of helping your fellow man again, then you are truly saved again and healing. It is hard but look around and see the bigger need of working together and then all this will end and you will be successful again.

Let me start with the building, it is beautiful! The design, the resources. the large multipurpose rooms and the classrooms are are conducive to the type of work being done with the Youth and Community. I have gone for several occasions from banquets to rock climbing fun to youth workshops and they are always more than accommodating. Speaking of the activities, again I have gone for sporting and fitness retreats with students. This time, I went to facilitate a workshop and they had all of the equipment that I needed. The staff were super helpful! All of this makes an awesome facility and I look forward to continued partnership!

The architecture is very unique and is designed to help promote learning about buildings, structures and their relationship with the environment. I know this place offers a lot, but the scope of there activities and services is unclear. Their website isn't super helpful in communicating this sort of information either. I do know they offer team building activities, which is why I was here. Great experience! The activities were meaningful, well thought out and executed seamlessly. The staff was very helpful in facilitating conversations about the process while not letting us get too far off track in our discussions. One of my favorites of the night was the rock climbing wall! What a fun experience in general, let alone as part of a team building exercise. This wall is also open some Fridays for people to come and climb from 6-9pm for $15. Call ahead or check their facebook to check on which Fridays they are hosting this.
