Terrible with young kids My one tear old has never had a problem with stranger anxiety she and her 2 year old sister love day care but 5 minutes into our movie they call me and tell me i have to pick up my kids because my one year old is screaming and crying and won't calm down. So I tell them I'm in a movie then they say oh well she also has a fever. So we left the movie and went to pick them up she was happy and laughing as usual no fever at all. And they still made us pay for the 2 hours and dinner for the two year old which they told us the two year old didn't eat and when we picked them up she was telling me she was starving. My kids were the only ones there that night so I guess they just didn't want to do their Jobs. read more

There have been many times that I have needed to run a quick errand or stop by a client's office and my husband was at work and all my sitters were in school. KidStation is the perfect place to go if you are in a bind for childcare. They are open early and stay open late and have been available every time I have needed them. I usually call ahead just to make sure that there is space. Their rates are fair ($9/hr for one child) and they send an email newsletter with coupons, discounts, etc. each month. They also have a loyalty program and every (?)th hour is free. I was a little skeptical at first because I didn't know the girls personally, but I trust them with my son and he always gets excited to play when we walk in! We love Kids Station for a Drop in Childcare Facility. We moved here from California a few months ago and this place saved us. We needed part time childcare when we were looking for a house and for errands. We felt so lucky to find this great place. What sold us from day one was the teachers that work there. They right away were VERY attentive to me and my son and made us feel comfortable. The staff there are all great. The owner is passionate about giving kids the best and safest possible environment. Parents may bring a child's lunch or dinner (peanut free), or food may be ordered from Holiday Deli or Huey's by a drop-down menu upon secure computer check-in. My daughter has gone to Kid Station for seven years... We love it. Now, about two years ago, I noticed that the staff was ... Unenthusiastic about working there. I noticed some things that made me uncomfortable and we stopped going for awhile. Well, when we came back all of those girls were gone and the new staff seems great! My daughter has fun every time she goes, the employees are handling the stress very well, and honestly, I'm happy to see smiling faces in there again. As someone who works with young children, trust me, it's hard. Then you have ungrateful parents to deal with as well... Bleh. So I can appreciate the employees there who recognize my daughter when she visits, paint her nails, allow her to paint their nails, play games with her, and basically show her a good time for a few hours. We first used Kid Station as an emergency backup plan when we were unable to find a babysitter for a very important appointment. Initially, I was extremely apprehensive and didn't know what to expect. I did some on-line research and was slightly more comfortable about their safety policies and staff to children ratio. What really sold me on Kid Station was my daughter's attitude when I came back to pick her up. She was having a lot of fun and didn't want to leave. Now, she frequently asks to go to Kid Station. She is excited at the mere mention of the words "Kid Station". She loves the staff, the social interaction with other kids of varying ages, the activities, and of course, the toys. The staff is always warm and welcoming and they have come to know my daughter well. In fact, she is often recognized around town by a Kid Station employee! Every time I have walked through the door, to pick her up or drop her off, I see the staff engaged and actively playing with the children. I have seen them handle conflict between two children, and when there was an incident involving my own daughter (an argument between her and another child), they were up front and honest about it so that when she spoke to me about it later I was well-informed and didn't have to worry. Kid Station offers an extremely convenient option, especially for things that come up last minute. We are new to the area and have not met anyone to babysit our children... a fellow yelper mentioned Kids Station and so we kept in our back pocket until a need arised. WELL last night we received an offer to join my husband's co-worker for a dinner class at L'ecole so we decided it was time to try out Kids Station. We showed up around noon to check it out and was quickly introduced to the facility and procedures. We both (husband & I) felt fairly confident that we could trust the kids to stay later in the evening. We made our reservation then and returned later in the evening. The Manager was awesome and made us feel very comfortable with her skill and care level for the kids in her care! When we arrived to pick them up the kids hardly wanted to leave!!
