If you're going here because of the ancillary stuff like cardio machines, you'll have a terrible…read moretime. Most of the machines are out of order, and the ones that work barely do. The free weights and weight machines work well, though there are only so many available. The cafeteria never seems open, everything is covered in chalk, and until recently there were never any cleaning wipes. But nobody should be going here just for those things, so the review shouldn't be about that. This is a great climbing gym. If you climb, go here. More importantly, the mission is great, the people are better, and everyone should support more institutions like this. It's a fantastic community resource.

Memphis Rox is in the neighborhood with Stax Museum at McLemore Ave. There is parking behind the building. The area is very spacious, clean, and well organized from supplies to pricing. There is a waiver to sign before beginning, and can be completed online or in person. The employees are very approachable and helpful. They guide you through the space, explain the layout, and are very welcoming to first timers. There are the assorted walls, but also a gym, yoga area, boxing area, and juice bar. side note: restrooms passed. They are clean, and there's a shower with towels available. There are lockers on the wall for personal belongings. There are also lockers near the bathrooms, but you'll need your own lock for those. There are several walls for varying levels of experience. Each area is cushioned, so if you do fall, you won't be hitting concrete. We changed into rock climbing shoes. You wear one size up from your normal shoe size. We had the choice of either free climbing the smaller walls or lessons in the back. The instructor was with us while he explained the smaller walls and you, for lack of better term, climb by color. A lot of us climbed the free walls. I went with the lesson on the back wall. Our instructor was awesome! With 10 first timers, he did an excellent job. I learned how to do a 10 point knot several times, and how to put on climbing gear. You do it over and over, but it makes perfect sense because you're preparing to do it independently. It ended up being three of us. This training definitely takes trust, because you learn how to tie yourself to climb, but you're also dependent on your partner to help you down the wall. The climb was so much fun! I almost got to the top of the wall. We alternated climbing up and guiding our partner down, and then we got our certification for completing the lesson. The last part of the party was food. I had the turkey burger, and it was REALLY good. It was tender and well seasoned. The berry smoothie was also really good. I'll give this one a rating: new climbs and good times. I had an awesome time here, and it was fun meeting new people and always fun trying new things. Definitely check this place out.

There was a health fair here as well. Rock climbing, zip lines, bouncers, and game trucks. Theme Bouncers for the little ones. Arts and crafts too. Food trucks and ice cream trucks. Check-In was fast and quick. Great job well done this year with theFamily Fun And Fitness Day 2019.

It ended up being pretty awesome and is a place I'd suggest other consider for team building events. The activities we did were new to me and varied in their level of interaction, physical effort and need for detailed thinking. In all they were quite entertaining. We also did some individual activities such as rock climbing and zip lining, which allowed us to push our personal boundaries in addition to challenging our boundaries in group settings. The staff was awesome - always helpful and cheerful, but not in an obnoxious way. There is a lake, basketball court, indoor meeting facility, pool, game room, and awesome patio with rocking chairs. Far exceeded expectations!

We attended the Surrender Yoga class with Heidi, and it was such a good experience. The class was relaxing but also really effective it opened me up and helped me stretch in ways I didn't even realize I needed. Heidi was calming, knowledgeable, and made the atmosphere feel welcoming. After class, we sat in the sauna for about 15 minutes, which was the perfect way to wind down. Before we left, my friend gave me a full tour of the facility. She showed me the different floors, the daycare area, locker rooms, pool area, pickleball courts, and the basketball court. Overall, it was a great experience, and the space felt clean, upscale, and well worth checking out.

The sauna is now closed and I went to an employee, Sam, and began expressing my concerns to the constant issues with the sauna. End of it Sam argued, didn't care and said it is my choice to be a member and I could find somewhere else. Sam doesn't understand I do my chemo treatment Monday afternoon and my routine includes coming to the gym for mind body and spirt before the infusion center. This is not about a sauna thing this is about a routine I've been doing for a year and some employee with zero care. Sam didn't know and doesn't care because Sam is all about Sam. Anyway end of the day Sam is right. I can choose any gym and just start a new Monday routine there. Please don't hire anymore like Sam. I just spoke to the manager who took time to hear me. Thank you for listening and hearing my words. She also shared with me her father's journey and hers as a caregiver. Real convo with a caring professional. As long as there is management in place like her this gym will only get better. Thanks lifetime and thanks Sam.

My son never got to do the wall climb which is what he was looking forward to the most becasue there wasn't enough time. Tim never showed up until the end of the party and never responded to my texts. In additon, I sent him an email about our awful experience and never got a response. The staff that was working the party were teenagers on their phones, rude, lazy, and clearly did NOT want to be there. And they were dressed very grungy. Even the guests were commenting on their behavior. And the bathrooms didn't work! The kids had a decent time, but I don't feel like I got my money's worth. I DO NOT RECOMMEND.

I booked the place for a family reunion picnic and 2 other venues for a family reunion in 2020…read more Then covid-19 hit. The other 2 venues allowed our deposits to remain the same and reschedule the events for no additional cost . The River Boat said they didn't give refunds, but we could use it when we got ready to reschedule the reunion. The Meet and Greet venue did the same thing. Maple Grove was quite different. We paid a $1,000 deposit , and the owner wanted us to pay $500 for 2021 to reschedule and pay $500 again in 2022 to reschedule. So the owner wanted us to pay him an extra $1,000 just because we requested to postpone for another date due to a pandemic that was killing people from our original date in 2020. If I could rate them lower than 1 star I would, but long story short , our reunion is now rescheduled for next year 2023 . Therefore , we had to cut our losses before they it worse. The owner was paid $1,000 deposit for doing nothing at all but upping the prices even more. I had to go back to what I know for our family reunion picnics, Canale Farms which is the best venue for picnics ,and the family is very professional and follows up with phone calls and text unlike Maple Grove 's owner. All you need to do is pay the cost and show up at Canale Farms. Some of my family members wanted to change our venue. Unfortunately, I chose Maple Grove which was going to cost us more than Canale Farms ( food, entertainment, decorations, etc.) and the owner still had the nerve to ask for an extra 1,000 dollars due to rescheduling due to covid-19. I totally appreciate my other 2 venues for being fair and professional with the rescheduling of our 2020 Family Reunion during these trying times of the pandemic. You live and learn. What goes around comes around. What goes up must come down. I know these were the owners rules, but I just wanted to make people aware of the owners business tactics. A lesson learned with my family, don't fix what's not broken. I would not use this facility for anything or recommend to anyone. Use it at your own risk. I just like dealing with business owners who are professional and fair. This is my point of view and others may not feel the same.
