I had him do an estimate for painting a few rooms in my condo, he provided the quote and an estimate on when he could start working. Since COVID-19 social distancing rules were not yet established the start date changed a few times over a few months, which is completely understandable. I would text every 3-4 weeks to check on a start date. He replied with a date and I replied right away to confirm. The day before he was supposed to start I figured I would reconfirm that he was starting the next day since he had not said anything since asking me if that date would work. He replied on the day very rudely with "I never confirmed for today at 2 I'm booked at this time. I asked when the next available date was and received no reply. Why would he ask me if that date worked and I replied within a minute of him asking me, so it was pretty safe to assume we were good to go. He has done projects for us before and everything went great, so I am not sure why he decided to be rude. Needless to say, I found someone else that is more reliable. Sorry Artie, I thought highly of you and recommended you to friends because of the great work you did before, but how you handled things was unprofessional.

Makes him stand out against the competition. Artie was very quick to respond and very eager to help us find a solution to our problems. We had a unique situation that required some flexibility on Artie's part to accommodate the job. He was more than willing to work with us to ensure the job got done right. I don't think you'll find that value added service with the larger companies. I will definitely be keeping Artie in mind for future projects. Great job!

This outfit is despicable, deplorable & abusive beyond description. Instead, they can't bother to figure out what 2 simple gutter pieces cost, & wanting to fill the holes w/hydraulic cement (insane), they just list a labor charge, & ask for 10% down, labor & material billed daily, & a credit card on file, I called them to speak to a total incompetent who then hands it over to Dick Hoerr, who called me a "social idiot", and a "moron", & that he'd never do a job for me. As if I would EVER consider a contractor who would call me filthy names & doesn't even know how to do the job. You don't pour 20-30 ft. of hydraulic cement in the holes - you cover the holes with rubber or aluminum & then coat that w/a small amount of hydraulic cement. Then, in his answer to one of the numerous negative reviews, he writes: "We are the highest rated handyman company on Angie's in the United States and we are located here in Chicago. He says one thing in a review and then did the exact opposite." BEWARE and DON'T USE THEM!

When I asked him to match another quote I received, he immediately honored that as well. He helped us hang heavy custom drapes in 3 of our bedrooms and we asked to additionally secure the ones in our living room and family room and he was able to do that as well. He brought another guy with him and both of them were in and out of the house within an hour and brought all their own materials as well. It was a perfect experience with a combination of professionalism, promptness, reasonableness, honesty and quality. These are the kind of businesses that are so rare these days so made me appreciate it that much more! We've officially added Derek as our go to handyman!

He is customer-service oriented and knowledgeable on a wide range of home maintenance and repair issues. He came to my house and consulted with me on solutions and offered some good cost saving alternatives, then gave me a reasonable quote, broken down by labor and materials to do the work. He showed up exactly on time and not only did what I originally contracted him for, he also adjusted his schedule to address a few other issues for me while he was there and advised me on some things regarding preparing my house for sale. He's thoughtful, skillful, careful, clean and doesn't take short-cuts on his work. I've dealt with other "handymen" in the past, but Craig is heads and shoulders above the rest - he's not your typical handyman. He is a consummate professional, and just a good honest hard-working guy. He's DEFINITELY Handy to Have Around, and I can't recommend him highly enough. !

The repairman that I initially spoke with over the phone was super responsive and very polite. I was so impressed by the Yelp reviews and by the phone call that I immediately scheduled an appointment with him. I immediately placed an order from my local hardware store and to have all the items (appliances) shipped to my home. The day before the scheduled appointment the repairman messaged me that he made a mistake and that he was supposed to schedule my appointment for the following day. He also mentioned that I did not send him a deposit to lock in my appointment as if I lost the appointment due to not paying him a deposit. I was confused! We never discussed a deposit or a deposit amount when I spoke with the handyman over the phone. I did not see the other Yelpers reference in their post anything about Zelle quick paying their repairman for a deposit. I thought something was odd I immediately thanked him for his time and told him I would not need his company to complete the repairs!
