THE BIG: Located in downtown Dallas. This one michelin key hotel deservedly portrays luxury with its service, finishes, and ambiance. Valet parking is available. THE BLACK AND WHITE: I stayed here for a night while attending a Dallas Stars game. The stadium was closeby and only took 8 minutes walking. Entrance sleek and there's five restaurants/bars in the hotel. I only went to one (Leonie's) and it was beautiful. It was on the top floor with views of downtown Dallas. There's also a michelin recommended steakhouse called Stillwell's that is on my list to try when I come back. Also for the afternoon tea type folks, there is the option of having that service given. As for the rooms, I got a suite upgrade and boy was it AWESOME. The room had big tall rooms with windows that showcased the downtown Dallas skyline. The gym was nice and modern. The bathrooms are awkwardly located in the middle of the gym, however it does have a steam room and a sauna located inside. THE FINAL BAMBOO: Overall, this was a great stay with top notch service and amenities. I'll definitely be back when I stay in downtown Dallas.

I decided to do a solo staycation for my 26th birthday and it was the best thing ever! My room was upgraded so I had a beautiful view of uptown Dallas. I was on the 17th floor and got a corner room! I was messaging a worker there on how I wanted my room to be decorated for my birthday and my expectations were met! This hotel is so accommodating, I forgot my curling iron so I called and asked if they have one which they did and they also gave me a straightener! The room comes with a white noise and a speaker! The speaker honestly elevated this experience for me just bc music is a serotonin boost! All in all i recommend anyone and everyone to come here fancy occasion or not! I really recommend people to come for staycations and just relax the second day I stayed I didn't do anything but just admire the beautiful view from my room I'm so blessed to have stayed here and I thank everyone who helped me during my stay I appreciate you guys so much!

Overall no complaints, staff is very friendly and helpful. Easy to locate, valet parking and also a parking garage directly beside the location. There is a small lounge area where they serve drinks not far from where you enter.

Hotel Swexan is excellent. My work booked this for our team. I heard nothing but praises from them and I agree. This was only a few blocks from our office. Rooms were modern and spacious. Everything felt new as they opened about two years ago. They serve food and drinks by the rooftop pool if you have a room key. There's also a bunch of restaurants downstairs. Great job everyone at Hotel Swexan.

This is such a nice hotel. From the moment you arrive, the staff is kind and attentive. The check-in process was easy, and it didn't take long. Elevators work with room keys. From the minute you walk in, it smells nice. The elevators and room floors are clean. The room isn't huge, but it's well-laid out with a small seating area upon entry. There's a bar area with great selections and snacks, as well as a coffee area directly behind it, next to the closet. There's a desk with a chair that's big enough for working, and two additional chairs in front with enough space. A beautiful view of the outside is available from both sides of the room, thanks to its floor-to-ceiling windows. There is also a fantastic view from the bathroom, located by the tub. And let me tell you the BED! It's so comfortable, which is a first for me. Usually, the beds in most hotels aren't great, but this bed and pillows are exceptional. There are also plugs and a USB outlet next to the bed on the nightstand, and the temperature at night was also good and remained at the selected setting. Now let me tell you about this bathroom. Everything you needed to wash your hands, hair, body, and shower cap, as well as makeup remover wipes, Q-tips, and lotion, was included, along with a bar of soap for hand washing. And they were all Le Labo, and it smells great after you shower. And the housekeeping staff was also very friendly. The note and the chocolate at night were a nice touch. I didn't get to try any amenities because it was a quick turnaround trip, but it's definitely a must if you can splurge. It's also within walking minutes to the American Airlines Center and other restaurants. Very convenient

Had a great experience here. Arnold, the valet guy even gave me a ride to Ross to get some swim gear. Super nice guy. The steakhouse was amazing. We weren't that hungry, but really enjoyed multiple apps..

Day one and, so far, Hotel Swexan is a pure delight. The staff is warm, friendly and professional. The rooms are gorgeous and well appointed - Frette linens, Le Labo toiletries, clever mini bar, extra pillows and new magazines. The high ceilings make the room feel spacious. We had cocktails at the pool bar which is lovely. Server Chris was cheerful and makes a terrific margarita. Very happy with our experience so far!

Happy Fourth of July long weekend We were looking for a family friendly, world class, wellness staycation and settled for this boutique, hole in the wall, like-new, hidden gem. What is this place doing in Dallas?! lol. The hotel construction is beautiful, the amenities are design and function driven, and the in hotel dining options alone are well worth the visit as hotel guests. We love that the Swexan supports people and families who eat together. In terms of this being a design destination, there is supposedly some Japanese and Swedish influences here also, but I had a hard time pointing anything out specifically. There were also a few hiccups with the hotel service after we checked in. Namely the in-room phone wasn't functioning properly and some of the staff don't seem that happy to be here (bummer). But we're having a great time with the best in-room dining and are jazzed to check out historic Neimans and Stanley Korshak. The wellness options are also a little old fashioned - the wet and dry saunas are clean and the roof top pool is a major plus in the summer heat, but there isn't a full service, in-house spa a la the Ritz or Crescent Court. What if you guys invested in a hyperbaric oxygen wellness chamber? Just a modern wellness thought. Aside from these very old-fashioned, historic Texas wellness compromises, we are loving our stay here and feel transported to a faraway land without having to suffer the TSA pat-downs, flight delays, and terrible airline seating we've been beaten into accepting as unavoidable in family travel.

Even if you are only stopping by for coffee/cocoa, this space is so warm and inviting. The Swexan's hot cocoa was an entire experience! Wow!!!

Stayed here and can honestly say the price point isn't really worth it, given the attitudes of the front desk staff and the customer service in general (not all but some). Also, the entrance to this hotel is very underwhelming to say the least. There were multiple issues with our room keys, which in my opinion is completely unacceptable...given we were only there for one night. However, the bathroom is marvelous and they do put out Le Labo toiletries. The view from my room (facing the Rolex building) was especially enjoyable at night. The rooms are rather small. The macaroon delivery to the room was a nice touch. The pool is really nice too and the restaurant 'Leonie's' on the rooftop right at the edge of the pool was pretty good too. The spot light was on my affogato which was amazing. The steak, potatoes and eggs were pretty good too. My friend had the short rib, he said it was okay, but would rather the short rib meat be whole instead of shredded

Our event coordinator had already been in contact with each hotel's sales team regarding room blocks, but my fiancé and I wanted to personally see the properties before recommending them to 30-40 hotel room blocks. Although we arrived after sales office hours, Liz at the front desk was exceptionally kind. She walked us through the restaurants commonly used for private events, explained the renovation timeline, and invited us to take our time exploring before returning to the front desk to view a standard guest room. Unfortunately, our experience changed when another employee, who later identified himself as Clayton, a manager, stepped in. It appeared he had been listening to our conversation but had not introduced himself. He abruptly informed us that we would not be able to view a room. We explained that our event coordinator was already working with the sales manager regarding room blocks and pricing, and that we were simply trying to ensure we felt confident recommending the hotel to our family and friends. Despite understanding the situation, he remained unwilling to accommodate the request. His only suggestion was that we purchase a room if we wanted to see one. For us, this interaction spoke volumes. Hospitality isn't just about beautiful rooms--it's about making potential guests feel welcomed and valued. If this was the experience we received as prospective clients considering multiple wedding events and dozens of room nights, it gave us pause about what our guests might experience. As a result, we will likely to move our room block, welcome dinner, Saturday event, and Sunday brunch where we're met with warmth, flexibility, and genuine hospitality from the moment we arrive. The Joule is undeniably a beautiful property, but customer service plays a major role in our decision-making. Unfortunately, this experience left us feeling that our business was neither appreciated nor wanted.

If you want to commemorate Tina Turner, nothing beats it. Lorenzo Hotel, let's stay together. The creative, quirky, and poetic 237-room boutique is known for being an eclectic and vibrant art gallery with a different theme for each floor. Floor 1 is a mix-up with Shakespeare, Alice in Wonderland, Poe, and Einstein. Floor 3 is Literature & Journalism (if you like old printing presses this may be your type). Floor 4 is the Music Floor (vintage audio). Floor 5 is Mid-Century Modern (1960s Dallas history). Floor 6 is "Dali" or Surrealism Floor. Floor 8 is Botanical & Nature (floral pops of color). Floor 9 is Pop Art (bold and graphic). Floor 10 is Cinematic History (Hollywood glamour). Floor 11 is The Tina Turner Tribute. Floor 12: Skyline / Skye Ballroom event level with massive floor-to-ceiling windows. We stayed in Floor 7, which is "Literary Noir" (drama and mystery). We had a broken, blinking Neon sign, a wobbly ceiling fan, broken blinds, matchbooks full of phone numbers, an unfinished manuscript, an ashtray full of cigarettes, and a dead body in the tub. Not really. But we did have a giant seven foot "desk lamp", a paintbrush and frame above our bed, and and a carpet made from Hamlet quotes in Room 704. Dining: Hamilton's is the main on-site restaurant and bar, with a host or hostess in the lobby smiling at us when we walked in. Taco Enzo and Kolache Korner are in the refurbished shipping containers in the massive parking lot. The lobby store is small and not cheap but it beats a vending machine, especially if you want an ice cream sandwich or fingernail clippers. The "South Beach" pool is saltwater, so it's softer on the skin, eyes, and hair and avoids red eyes, green hair, and pool smell. Location: Though the Cedars district is the industrial historic heart of the Dallas arts scene, it's a bit gritty and has *freeway noise*, with gentrification friction, being a patchwork of high-end luxury lofts sitting right next to dilapidated industrial warehouses, making it feel half vibrant but half abandoned. The Walkability Score is 73, thanks to massive railroad tracks, the I-30, current construction, and inconsistent sidewalks. Be warned this isn't a tree-lined, window-shopping destination like Uptown or Bishop. Finding food, a drink, and even a movie will be much easier than groceries or a pharmacy (though drugs is a different story). Service: Everyone was awesome, especially Precious, who was, like her name Precious. That explains why they don't hire Dicks.

The pool was great during the summer, it's small but has many chairs and even cabanas that are great for lounging in. The onsite restaurant for breakfast was delicious! The food was really good - probably the best part of the entire hotel - and the service at the restaurant was beyond friendly and accommodating. The parking is $20 a night which is a crazy price, but there were always plenty of spaces. There is a lot of construction next door, so we could hear that going on during the day and proved for a quite terrible view from our hotel room - completely obstructed by a tree with the bits you can see through being just trucks. One evening our toddler pulled the plug for the lamp that is on the night stand and it pulled the entire outlet out which created a hot flash of fire and smoke - then live wires were exposed - this is crazy dangerous and very disturbing that a very small child was in such danger from merely unplugging something. We went down to the desk and they immediately said they'd send an engineer up and asked if we would like to change rooms. We said we'd see what the engineer said, he came up about 5 mins later and said everything needed to be replaced so I said to him we have to switch rooms as it was completely dangerous for anyone to be in the room with live wiring exposed. A minute or two after the engineer left the front desk called our room and told us to come downstairs to change rooms. We packed up, trucked everything downstairs and they switched our rooms to the room next door (which it would've been nice if they would have offered to help move our luggage or at least tell us to just move it one room over, not bring it all downstairs). The front desk was actually really passive and cold - I found the situation quite shocking and dangerous and they had basically nothing to say about it. I thought it would've been nice if they had said something to apologize for the inconvenience, to offer something in return. It is completely their fault for having faulty electrical equipment in their room and they just wanted us to move rooms and go away - I was just happy to move the room and not be near them since they were such bad vibes - I think other people would've felt disrespected by their behavior. Thanks for the food, won't be back.

About the Hotel I don't know the history of the hotel but I can tell it's a well kept older hotel. I like how they kept some elements of its legacy. The lighting, the mail chute and more, add to the charm of this place. The lobby is a modern twist with an emphasis on audio entertainment. There are a lot of record albums on display as art. There's a small walk up cafe for quick bites and drinks and you can take a comfy seat in the lobby to enjoy your snack. From the lobby, you can peer down into and access the Toussaint restaurant and bar. About our Room Our room (603) was spacious and functional. It included a king bed, 2 large side tables, a round bistro table with one chair, a large flat screen TV above a long counter to drop some of your stuff onto. It had a large wardrobe for hanging clothing plus a valuable safe. It had a bar with glassware and coffee service (Keurig). The bathroom was spacious and functional, though the sliding entry door did leave a large gap, taking a bit of privacy away from the commode area. If there was a con for this room, I'd say it was lighting and lack of outlets on one side of the bed. The room did have lighting, but it was very dim. Convenience We really loved the location of the Saint Elm. It was nearly next door to the Majestic Theater where we were going for a concert. It's walking distance to some great restaurants and sights. We'd stay at the Saint Elm again.

Its time for "Story-time with Adam Cole Baby" (don't sue me TK, I'm working class and can't afford the lawyers) The TLDR: This is a serviceable hotel with great front desk and that's about it. I wouldn't feel comfortable with any single female friends/family to stay there by themselves. The very first interaction I had in Dallas, the VERY FIRST was a *ahem* "lady of the night as I was getting out of my Lyft and approaching the front doors of the hotel. She walked directly in my path, looked me in the eye, and with no warning said: "For $50 you can do whatever you want to my asshole" Do you know how hard it is to make me speechless? I muttered and stuttered my way past the woman to check in. Homeless people and working girl are a REAL problem here. In my eight days there every time I left the hotel I ran into one group or the other, some times both. I check in, go to my room, do a quick inspection and in the shower I find.....black mold!!!! An easy enough fix I think, I go downstairs report it to the front desk, go off to the market for supplies, and come back. The front desk guy tells me that he's made a concoction of sorts that gets rid of mold and he's left it in my room for me to apply it in the shower. A VERY WTF moment!! Bro I don't work here, and don't know enough about this chemistry experiment you've cooked up. I go back downstairs and they finally give me a new room. I'm not much of a complainer and I have a clean new room so let's just sleep and see what the next day bring. I wake up and decide to hit the breakfast. I grab some undercooked bacon and potatoes, as I'm grabbing juice I notice the employees were closing everything down (five minutes early but I get it) the really weird/annoying thing was that they were turning the lights off on all the people still eating. It felt like last call at a seedy dive bar. Like I said, I understand wanting to go home but turning the lights out on your guests was a complete and utter FAIL. My last notch in the complain column is that the building itself could really use some attention. When it was raining the ceiling by the front door was flooding like a TLC song. The elevators never seemed clean either. So if I'm going all Final Justice on my review why did I give it a three star and not a one? All the positives come from the front desk agents. Jasmine was the best agent I've had the pleasure to deal with in almost a decade. She was warm, welcoming, and quick as a whip. Every day that I came downstairs she had a different suggestion on where I should go and what I should eat. Honestly if I was building a management team from the ground up, I would poach Jasmine in a heartbeat. So yes on the strength of one employee a hotel gained two stars. Otherwise I can't really recommend stay here until they make some major changes
