Sofitel is one of my favorite hotel brands, and the one in Brussels hasn't disappointed. Excellent location, especially for business/EU/government functions. Very convenient. Tons of stuff is walking distance. Common areas are tastefully decorated. Service is friendly and competent. Rooms are good sized and well furnished. Bath/shower combo. Clean and excellent isolation for good night sleep. Few negatives, so it is really 4.5 stars, but not quite 5! -too expensive for the value provided; -shower stall is extremely small, so it is not comfortable and relaxing to take a shower; -front desk is understaffed, so it takes too long to check in/out, even for Platinum Members. All is all, quite pleasant stay. read more

Nice location, comfy beds, good air conditioning. Unfortunately, semi-transparent glass door on the bathroom and sand-blasted glass wall between the shower and bedroom means I have to knock off a lot of points. I like privacy when I use the bathroom. I don't want to think about people in the room staring at my silhouette while I shower. I don't know why these glass views of the bathroom keep popping up in European hotels, but they really make me uncomfortable. And I can't give a good review to a hotel that I felt uncomfortable staying in. read more

What do you do when a guest's telephone does not work on a Saturday afternoon ? You ignore it, saying we can fix it Monday. And, you make the guest come to the food desk to find this out. Because it would be too much effort to knock on his door or slip a note under the door. This used to be a really fine place. I have stayed here several times. It is still in good shape, but it feels like there has been a lot of staff turn over. The front desk is usually a scene if clutter and chaos. Baggage piles up, guests cannot maneuver. It is a real fire and safety hazard, especially since it is close to an escalator. It would be a good time to have a staff meeting. A meeting where the management discusses how to communicate with guests and make them feel welcome. I don't. And I am one of those people who tips everybody for good service. One other thing. Remember when you would have a chocolate on your pillow? Now it's an herbal tea bag. Come one people. It costs $300 a night to stay here, and the best you can do it a tea bag? #sad. read more

We had no issues with our stay here. It was fabulous and the concierge was helpful in finding us a lovely Christmas eve dinner spot. We also had our toddler with us and they set up a cotbed inclusive of Le Petit Prince bedding and Le Petit Prince shampoo and body wash. Loved having nespresso in the room in the morning. Loved the Hermes shampoo and conditioner. The room service is quite high-I wish they would give more options at lower price points. read more

We stayed here for Tomorrowland so we had an incredible experience. The hotel was a sponsored/themed stay so the decor was excellent. The staff was incredibly helpful and polite. We were greeted at the door and took the escalators up pictures of flowers and butterflies. Upstairs we were quickly checked in and given our welcome packages. There was a meet and greet with gratis cocktails and a groovy band. Every morning we ate a delicious breakfast with fresh fruits, hot foods, and smoked salmon and lox. Every evening we were treated to a chef's special snack/small meal served by the Chef himself. Every day a new treat awaited us in our room. Our room was immaculately cleaned and smelled fresh every day. Thrilled with our stay. Expected nothing less from the Sofitel! read more

Sofitel Le Louise: Superb Hotel. A Six Star Experience!!! When it comes to reviewing hotels, I should be able to give this one six stars... not five. Hotel Sofitel Le Louise offers guests first class accommodations with a cool, trendy boutique hotel vibe. The location is awesome - a stones throw from historic sites, a block away from the Metro (Stop: Louise) and walkable to the trendiest shops and restaurants in Brussels. But it is the quality of the service that sets this hotel apart from other hotels. After we checked out, my husband realized that he had lost his eye glasses (and he didn't even know where he had last left them...) The hotel staff (Jeanne) searched high and low on our behalf. Checking not just with the hotel's housekeeping and restaurant staff, but she also called the cab company (which the hotel had arranged for us) to see if he could've left them in the taxi. Yes, we did find them...in the taxi--thanks to Jeanne. We will recommend this hotel to all of our friends and family who visit Brussels. Service just doesn't get any better than the service we experienced at this hotel. Merci beaucoup. read more

Comfortable, very quiet, but a bit cramped. As a work hotel it definitely got the job done. The low ceilings in my room and small windows made me feel a bit claustrophobic. They've got a fairly typical European breakfast spread downstairs in the morning (included with some rooms/rates). You can order eggs any way you like, and there is a buffet (fruit, meats, yogurt, muesli, breads, cheeses, etc). I'd stay here again, though if there was a similar spot with bigger brighter rooms that'd be better! read more

Sofitel is awesome with customer service: it just seamlessly...works. Showed up, room was ready. Walked to the elevator by an employee well-versed in informative small talk. Concierge at the ready for reservations, suggestions, calls on your behalf. Little touches make this hotel a win. I was given an upgrade without asking. There are canteens of piping hot fresh tea infusions in the lobby. The wifi (I know, it's 2013, this should be simple at every hotel!) is free, and one-click to use and fuss-free. The rooms are decorated in a modern style: sleek lines, a royal purple curvy chair, two graphic pillows on the bed. The rooms are fairly small (keep in mind: this is a right-downtown location) but the layout is extremely smart. You can sync up your TV to speakers in the bathroom, for instance, so CNN and your morning shower can be multitasked. There is a one-way glass panel so that those inside the bathroom brushing their teeth can watch the TV screen in the bedroom. Little things that add up to an experience that feels different, and novel, and special. Valuable point: the hotel boasts a really nice modern courtyard patio as well as dining room / bar, so there's no need to venture far for solid food and drink if you want to stay close to your (temporary) home. Yelp note: hey-oh ballers...the bath products are Hermes. I took three showers just to really get the full experience. read more

We only had one night in Brussels before our flight out the next day but enjoyed our time at the Hotel Sofitel Le Louise. Review based on a basic King room. The Great: + Shower and bathroom was awesome. Hermes product FTW! + Quality king mattress. We slept very well. + Some of the staff were very nice and helpful. + Bar/Restaurant on site. + Location. Right on the high end shopping street and walking distance to the Grand Place (~15m walk). The Average: o One lady at the front desk wasn't as helpful as the others, but nice enough. The Poor: - I am part of a perks group and this hotel didn't honor my "perks" even after I had the group call the hotel. In the end it didn't matter (my perks group took care of me), but I would have hoped for a bit more from the management. **NOTE** Parking isn't too far away (underground, about 2 blocks up) and is quite reasonable considering the location. read more

We stayed at this hotel a couple of weeks ago along with my cousins...so, two rooms booked total with each of us staying 6 nights. We love staying at Sofitel properties when traveling to Europe every Fall and chose this particular Sofitel based on its convenient location to the Louiza Train Station as we planned on doing many day trips via trains. The first impressions of the hotel were great. It seemed like a cute little boutique type of hotel with nice decor. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful and our room was ready...unusual yet very relieving as we arrived at 10:30 am and were in need of showers after a long overnight flight in. The room we had (Superior Room) looked to have been recently renovated, but was already tired and worn looking. The cleanliness was not up to par with a 5 star hotel or other Sofitel properties and our bathroom door handle fell off whenever it was used. We also noticed on day three that our main room door did not shut automatically...it would stick on the door frame. This meant that we had been leaving our room open to anyone for two entire days whenever we left our room...and at night for that matter. Also, this is very minor, but while we booked the same room as my cousins, they received chocolate every night during turn down service...we never once received chocolate. Just a weird inconsistency, I suppose. The bar in the lobby was what caused all of us the most frustration during our stay. The first day we went down, it took them almost 20 minutes to pour 4 beers. There was only one other table occupied. They seemed to be very busy doing bar prep and washing dishes so we brushed it off as us just being in there a little early. The second night down, we tried to sit at the bar as we just wanted one drink before heading out. We ordered our drinks and the staff continued to wash dishes instead of making our drinks. We felt like we were being bothersome so we moved to a table where we were eventually served. The next day, we tested the bar out one more time. Again, we ordered our drink and the staff continued to wash dishes. This time, we didn't move and remained at the bar. We were eventually served our drinks. The next day, we came in the later portion of the evening as we had planned on having pre dinner drinks. There appeared to be a photo shoot going on, but we asked if the bar was still open. We were told that it was. We sat at the bar and the bartender strongly encouraged us to go sit on the terrace. We stated that we just wanted to sit at the bar. She again strongly encouraged us to move to the terrace. We then asked again if the bar area was open. She said yes again. We then firmly told her we wanted to remain at the bar and placed our drink orders. We were then informed that all tap beers were currently out and that she suggested we return to our rooms and call down for a drink and she would have them brought up. She suggested this to two couples sitting together at a bar...a suggestion that we return to our rooms. We just got up and left quite irritated. We avoided the bar for the remainder of the stay until the last night. I and my husband popped in by ourselves to give it one last try. The male bartender was sooooo much friendlier and more efficient and we received our drinks very promptly. However, he washed dishes the entire time we were there. We have never seen bar staff wash as many glasses as we saw this bar staff wash during our week long stay. My husband even joked with him that the hotel should buy an actual dish washer to free them up. The bartender didn't understand and stated he loved washing dishes. OK then. The one shining employee that we encountered during our stay was the concierge by the name of Mariano. Mariano could not have been more friendly or more informative. He sent us to a restaurant the day prior and when he saw us the next morning, he came out from behind the desk to speak to us. He made sure that his recommendation was fine and then proceeded to tell us more about the different things happening in the city over the next few days. Very lovely man and really good at his job!!! I probably wouldn't stay at this hotel again if I returned to Brussels, but I will say that the location is very convenient to Old Town and the Louiza Station which is excellent for getting to Brussels Midi and Brussels Central. read more

I have stayed here twice - good standard and very much a Sofitel but comparatively expensive and the rooms are quite small.

Hotel Sofitel in Louise Plaza was our home base for most of this trip. We even opted to stay an extra night as its location is so convenient to other countries like Germany and France. Note: the hotel is steps away from the Metro, but we usually took a taxi to the Central train station to get on to the international lines. The staff were super friendly (with the exception of one night shift dude but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt considering the situation) and helpful, our room was comfortable and clean, and overall the hotel was quiet and upscale. We had booked a package through Global Journeys for the music festival, Tomorrowland. This included a full buffet breakfast each morning and transportation to and from the three-day event. We would all arrive back at hotel after 1:00 am and the poor night manager had to deal with busloads of hungry folks all looking forward to the nightly "snack" that the hotel provided as part of the package. I have to say, though, that the crowd was always very responsible and reserved -- not what I was expecting of Tomorrowland attendees. Maybe they were too tired, maybe they were raised differently in Europe, maybe we were just an older crowd who could afford the best accommodations, but whatever the reason, we caused no issues that I could see and therefore did not deserve the grumpy treatment we got from the night manager. Other than this one unusual blip, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the great morning buffets. One more tip: the hotel is in a shopping area with high-end stores such as Tiffany's and Tesla on the same street, so if you're a shopping addict and trying to quit, you've been warned. read more

Room was comfortable, facing rear, so was quiet. Clean. Water pressure in shower was very strong. WiFi worked okay. Reception staff staff was helpful and as was Renate who cheerfully greeted us upon arrival in street and helped with bags up escalator to reception. Hotel location is in center of upscale shopping if that interests you and is walk-able to many attractions. Metro nearby. Special mention to at-large manager Leila Bakkali weeks before for her help when I made mistake with reservation which she fixed. I sensed that Sofitel valued my business.
