HOWEVER, we arrived much too early for our reservation and instead of allowing entry (which I do understand, had it been explained politely and apologetically), we were looked up and down with an air of dismissiveness and told to return later. When we did return we were AGAIN looked at askance because we arrived in shorts - though we explained we brought more appropriate attire to change into as we had had been shopping in Antibes earlier in the day - and nearly denied entry AGAIN until the more senior security person deigned to approve our entry. To top it all off, I never felt welcome to enjoy anything beyond the bar and grill area, the martini was only OK at the bar, my moules were COMPLETELY oversalted (and I like salt!!) and when I told the wait person, all she did was repeat what I said with surprise and clear the table... no offer to bring a comped dessert or drink or knock some $ off the bill. All in all very disappointing. I live in San Francisco which is full of tech billionaires and yet to feel so excluded at the start of this experience and to end with such mediocre food, really was a sad thing. I would have expected more given the glowing article I had read in Condé Nast. Perhaps if you are a straight couple it's a different experience - we are two women, and the whole thing left a bad taste in my mouth...

We got the halloumi skewers, sweet potato fries, and fattoush salad. Everything was amazing but the skewers were definitely our favorite. The flavors were delicious and it wasn't heavy. The beach manager was super nice and accommodating and made it a great time. I would definitely recommend making a stop here for the day if you are in the area.

The sun lounge area to the beach is shockingly over occupied with millimetres from sun lounger to sun lounger this is due to the management allowing the public to use all the facilities at a price which leaves the paying guests forced to be packed in like sardines. They obviously do not care about the paying customers as they have already taken your money which is extremely expensive. The bar area in the late afternoon and evening is the same, small space which would be fine but again open to the general public. Felt really uncomfortable with it being so packed. I blame the manager for this, he was totally rude and did not care about anything. He was totally uneducated with the surrounding area and with his staff. I asked him what restaurant options we had available as it was a Sunday, his reply was "the fancy restaurant " to which I replied you mean the Michelin Star restaurant. WHAT A CLOWN. We are fortunate enough to have a sports car to which we wanted to drive to St Tropez and asked the manager the best way to find a secure parking spot, his reply " get valet parking from one of the hotels in the area, there is a new hotel in the centre which you could do this but can't remember the name, might be Hotel De Paris" I replied saying that hotel has been there for over 20 years. The reception was kind enough and they gave me a good room. The elevator that took me up is basically for one person. This place is historic as Ella Fitzgerald stayed there. Some other famous people were there as well, but I can't recall their names. The room had a nice closet, great bathroom, wonderful shower, large tub, comfortable bed, and excellent tv. The gym and sauna were adequate. The breakfast was great for people on the go who need food early. They opened at 7:30am. The place is located close to Pine Beach, a good spot to walk, and near Antibes. You have to walk about twenty or thirty minutes to get to old town Antibes. It is doable. The local scene is quiet, the Juan les Pins and Antibes area are not as vibrant as Paris, so the scene is more subdued. In the offseason this place is quiet. The pool was cozy, but some guy walked in from the street and it was awkward. All in all, this place is a great find for people in Juan les Pins traveling to the convention center, or looking to enjoy the area.

Otherwise get the number for a cab (remember: French cabs start charging from when you call, not when they pick you up) or get a bus schedule - the stop is less than a block from the hotel. If you do have a car, they have a private lot - but in Antibes, beware of break-ins, lot or not.
