We've just got home from a week travelling across Switzerland by train. Our first night was in Geneva at this hotel. It was quite easy to find from the railway station - we used the map from the website, and also noticed one or two signposts along the way. I think the walk took about five minutes. The hotel is in a slightly run down area of the city. There was a cafe across the road, and a chinese restaurant next door. Next door but one was a karaoke bar - though we didn't actually hear anything from this.
Breakfast was not included in the price we paid, CHF 134 for a double room, as we felt that an extra CHF 14 (about £6.50) each for a cold buffet was expensive.
The room was alright, nothing special. It had two single beds pushed together, and a small ensuite shower room. It was all clean. As we only stayed one night I couldn't say how often towels and bedding are changed. We were able to borrow a hairdryer from reception, and shower gels, soaps etc were supplied in sachets in the shower room.
Everyone on the staff, that we came in contact with, spoke good English, and was helpful. They were happy for us to leave our bags behind the reception desk in the morning once we had checked out while we went out for a walk around Geneva. It didn't take long to reach the lake, and shopping areas of the city. read more
