Okay, it's a bar. A nice bar with cheerful and friendly bartenders who were happy to share the history of the building and knew what beers and wines they have available. But we chose Haktet because it was a prison/jail some time ago. We were hoping to see some evidence of that. Maybe a cell converted into a room for drinking or such. There was none of that. It's a nice bar with seating and booze and that's great. But there's nothing here that says "prison." read more

Came here for drinks (after finding out the Vanster, the speakeasy next door, is closed until September!). The courtyard is a beautiful and a popular place to come for drinks. There were all ages here at around 9ish at night. There was about 5 people in line for the bar but luckily the two bartenders were fast. Seating was mostly taken but we got lucky with a group that just left and we're able to take their place. read more

To my fellow Americans and people in general. I don't know about the food in this place but my friend and I are visiting Stockholm and were recommended to come into this place to have a good time and drinks. Well... if you see a line of people outside, DONT WAIT JUST GO! This place pretty much ruined our Saturday night. Horrible management. Last night (Sept. 26) was cold and we would have appreciated the security guard at the door would have come and tell us that the place had table reservations and in order to come in, a table have to become available. Well, she didn't and we waited and waited and we only did because it was freezing cold and we were 4 people behind in the line (hoping to be let in soon), however we kept seeing people coming out and no one was let in as it supposed to be if they are being at capacity. We find out about the situation once we were at the front of the line which made it even worst because we were pissed but at the same time freezing cold and we just needed to come in and warm up. By the time the security guard let us in she only let us into the "cocktail bar" which was empty!!! I mean.. F really?!! People waiting outside and freezing their asses off to come into an empty cocktail bar?!! When we complaint, the bartender apologized but also mentioned there were reservations.. yeah whatever. The place stayed empty until the end. It was a total disappointment! We only stayed there because 1) our night was ruined by waiting outside 2) we were cold AF Suggestion: Train your security guard to let people in line know the situation. Then people can decide if they want to continue to be waiting or just leave. She mentioned Swedish people know, well, we are not from Sweden. We are tourist and we didn't know. Swedish people behind us also sounded disappointed so I don't think all the people in Sweden "know". Thanks for the BAD experience. Michelin restaurant? I won't even try to come to dine in at this place after this horrible disappointment. They need management improvement lessons. read more

Like many I'm a big fan of Söder and Häktet. I will tell you a secret, and if you already knew that's fine. This place used to be a prison for people who couldn't afford to pay their bail, and now it holds a cocktail "speakeasy" bar, a more chilled beer/cocktail bar and a wine bar (that happens to be more hidden than the other two). The night I came with my friends we were well welcomed by two Italians, who pretty much greeted us as we walked in (very unlikely in Sweden but I like it). My friend couldn't drink alcohol and he made her a very delicious virgin drink, I had a beer on tap that was also very good. I saw they have food, so if you are hungry you can order some bites here. The waiters/bartenders came to check on us a little bit after to know if we needed something else, very nice and receptive. I would gladly come back here whenever I'm in Stockholm. If you like bars with personality come here. read more

It's the hidden kinda place where a friend tells you, go in that barn kinda gate then walk down the little hallway then turn into the door to the right. Ya, that's what got me in here on a cold winter afternoon. Well, I thought it was cold, the locals probably not. Inside, friendly staff, solid food, and drinks galore. On our first visit to Stockholm we sought this place out to listen to the gypsy jazz. Much to our surprise, the food was spectacular - unique and expertly prepared! Been here a few times to eat and every time the food is Always of a very high standard. The ambiance of the place is great and cozy. A little too cozy in places. If you are eating there as 2 people the tables are far too Close together. (somebody near kept joking any time somebody sat near them that they could sit on their knee). However if you are a bigger party then you are fine. Everything feels like it is homemade. Last night i had the charkuterier as a starter, this was a mix of Elk, Reindeer, Sheep and Pig salami's with dried capers and a grilled pickled gherkin on the side. Beautiful. my main was a platter of items made from pork. Salsiccia, rillettes and pulled pork, served with a pickled grilled apple and butterbeans (whole and a puree). This was a delight, Everything married together very well. Afters was a cheese board where all the cheeses came from Sweden. The plum compote that came with this was absolutley divine. My only complaint would be that some of the waiting staff were alittle slow in seeing that we were ready for them. Also try their espresso martinis, they are up there in my top five places to buy them. read more

Of our six days in Stockholm, this was our very favorite restaurant experience. So different than other places, and truly one of the most memorable meals we've ever had in any country (so much so, that we went back two nights later). It's a very casual but sophisticated and funky atmosphere, with a younger vibe than most places in Soder. The food menu is small- about 5 apps, 5 entrees and a few deserts. And everything we tried was phenomenal. They keep it small and do everything perfectly. One of our favorite parts was the cocktail bar and menu, which changes frequently. Literally found ourselves trying to figure out how to make all of the drinks once we get back home. The wine selection was excellent as well. The service was flawless and we had the same precious waitress both nights. She was helpful and made great recommendations. The manager came by to thank us and we interacted with several of the staff who were all very friendly. Apparently the weekends are a lot of fun where after dinner and later at night, they essentially turn the restaurant and courtyard in to a nightclub/bar of sorts, without the dancing. Highly recommend if you like great execution and wonderful food and drinks. read more

Haktet Bar is a bar/resto and walking distance from Marie Laveau and Little Quartet if you are looking to go bar hopping in Sodermalm. The building is quite old and it's got a unique vibe. The bar was absolutely packed and hot. Clientele ranged from hipsters to trendy professionals and scantily clad women. The bartenders were friendly and drinks were relatively good. Note: If you are looking for the speakeasy Haktet Vanster, make sure to go to the very far side of the building. Don't even expect to be given directions to Vanster from the staff at Haktet. read more

Enjoyed an amazing meal here last night! We walked from Hotel Hornsgatan just down the street and were able to get a table as soon as we walked in. The very friendly server came over to help us with the menu (all in Swedish). We shared the whole fish dish (for 2) and it was absolutely delicious! It was perfectly cooked and incredibly flavorful. We also split a licorice pie for dessert that was notably tasty. All in all, great food, a little on the pricy side (but hey, that's Stockholm), wonderful service. Apparently they also just opened a speakeasy type bar in the other half of the building, we didn't have time to check that out. read more
