Cleanliness should be a basic expectation at a gym, but this location falls well short. What's even stranger is that there aren't paper towels in the weight area to wipe down benches and equipment after use. Seriously? In a gym this size and with this many members, that's a basic necessity. It makes it harder for members to clean up after themselves and only adds to the overall dirty feel of the facility. The layout is also awkward. I understand it's a large gym, but the equipment placement just doesn't flow well and makes the whole place feel disorganized. The members don't help either. Weights are scattered all over the gym, and very few people seem to rerack them where they belong. It makes finding equipment frustrating and creates an overall sloppy environment. The sales staff also give off the stereotypical used car salesman vibe. Instead of feeling welcoming, the interactions often feel more focused on making a sale than helping members. To top it off, the parking validation scanner has been broken, adding another unnecessary inconvenience. For a gym that's supposed to be one of the premier 24 Hour Fitness locations, there are simply too many issues. If you're deciding between this location and the Newport Mesa club, I'd recommend Newport Mesa without hesitation. It's cleaner, better maintained, and provides a much better overall experience.

And it was a full solid hour so you always felt like you got a lot done. I would whole heartedly recommend her to anyone trying to get stronger and in shape.

My friend Sara and I politely asked if we could be next to each other if the spot was available. She immediately responded, "No." I asked why, and she replied, "Because I said no. You're on spot 4." When I asked again, since the spot was open, she told me members get priority and that I was a ClassPass user. I responded that I am still a paying customer and that ClassPass guests should not be treated as though they are less valued. I chose not to argue further and simply walked into class. Once inside, I saw that nearly every spot--including the one next to my friend--was still open. I quietly asked the instructor if it would be okay for us to stand next to each other. Before the instructor could even respond, the front desk employee walked into the room, came up behind me, and yelled in front of the entire class, "You're not moving! Or you can leave!" I was embarrassed and shocked by how I was spoken to. This is not the first time I have experienced disrespect from this employee, and every interaction I've had with her has made me feel unwelcome. Regardless of whether someone books directly through the studio or through ClassPass, every paying customer deserves to be treated with respect. Because of this repeated behavior, I will not be returning to this studio.

The Olympic lifting platforms with bumper plates are intended for lifts where you need to drop weight down from an elevation, but they don't allow it. This facility is meant for uneducated kids that have never used gym equipment before and want to get a few credits, not for people that are educated on fitness and lifting. The name of the class is "strength and conditioning" yet you aren't allowed to use the cardio equipment in the next room. If I asked you if you wanted to go do conditioning you probably wouldn't think I'd be talking about lifting weights. The hours are insane and inconvenient. Hate this place. Hate the people that work here.
