The windows are covered and you can only catch a glance of the interior. I would love to see inside the building and the guest accommodations next door. Lucille raised three children here! The old gas pumps are in good condition and there is a picnic table under the drive-thru area next to the pumps. Super easy to find on Historic Rt 66 that runs along I-40. You can't get gas here and it offers no services, but it's located right off the main highway with plenty of parking and amazing photo ops. The little white service station, built in the 1930s, is one of only two upper-story porch style stations left on Oklahoma's stretch of Route 66! It was built with the owner's living area above the station and has a delightful American Craftsman style architecture. The vintage gas pumps remain, and there's a nifty historical marker with more information about the building. Lucille's was officially added to the National Register of Historic Places in the late 90s. Worth a stop, and bring your camera!
