History
Established in 2007.
In 2007, Hyderabad House opened its doors with a single mission: to bring the true taste of Hyderabadi Dum biryani to Sydney, without compromise.
What started as a modest kitchen serving a handful of homesick food lovers quickly grew into a destination for authentic Halal Hyderabadi cuisine in Harris Park. Right from the beginning, we committed to preparing our food the way it’s meant to be — with hand-fried onions, fresh ginger-garlic paste, and zero packaged masalas or ready-made sauces.
We’re proud to have built a space that’s 100% Halal, alcohol-free, and family-friendly — welcoming over 1,100 guests every week who come not just for the food, but for the feeling of home.
From sizzling lava rock-grilled kebabs to our signature Dum biryanis, every dish we serve tells a story of tradition, care, and flavor. Even through the toughest times — including the COVID years — we stayed true to our roots and kept our kitchen running, driven by community support and our passion for real food.
Meet the Business Owner: Rehan A.
Hi, I’m Rehan Ali — the guy behind Hyderabad House.
Before all this, I spent years working in brand management, leading campaigns across FMCG, hardware, and pharmaceutical industries. I loved the challenge, the creativity, and the strategy — but I always knew I wanted to build something of my own.
In 2007, I took that leap and started Hyderabad House, with a simple goal: to serve real Hyderabadi food made the right way. No shortcuts, no pre-made masalas — just fresh, slow-cooked dum biryani and bold, authentic flavours.
Today, we welcome over 1,000 guests a week in Harris Park, and every dish still reflects the same values I started with: authenticity, quality, and a whole lot of heart.
Thanks for being part of the journey — and for supporting the real dum.
