Every time I stop, they don't have what I want so I'm giving up. They have good prices so if price is your only consideration, this is the place to shop. The employees are friendly. That can't be faulted either. The store doesn't smell good. I worked here many years ago when I was in high school and it's always smelled weird. That could be forgiven but Fareway doesn't offer the products I want to buy and I think they seriously need to make changes before they get left behind...and that would be a shame. Shoppers like myself are looking for organic produce, organic/grass fed meat and organic/gmo free processed foods. Hy-Vee barely carries any and Fareway is way worse. Instead what is offered is poor quality conventional produce in a small produce department. The meat counter has tons of variety and has excellent service, however I don't want conventional meat that has been raised using antibiotics, growth hormones and may have been fed gmo grains. So they have this beautiful meat counter with nothing I want to eat. Yes, they have a few organic crackers or chips but not enough to bring me into the store. Sadly, Wal-Mart has tons more organic than any other store in town. I drive to Clive to shop for groceries. I really hope that Fareway ups their game. It doesn't really matter if you think buying organic is a bunch of hooey or not. It's about offering what the buyer wants. Currently Fareway doesn't offer anything I want. Just to be fair, I have family members that do not care about organic the way that I do and they do all their shopping at Fareway and love it.

I'm giving 5 stars because I really hope they make it a permanent menu item. There is nowhere else in town to get a good vegan chickn sandwich. However it is a little dry/bland. They only put vegan mayo on one side of the bun, idk about you guys but no bun should be without sauce/mayo. Next time I ordered it tossed in buffalo and got the vegan thousand island for my fries and it was 10/10. The staff is always very kind!
