My first experience with them was about 2.5 years ago when I found them on Yelp. They came and concluded my unit outside was too old to be repaired, so we needed a new unit outside (4K). We proceeded with the job without asking for a second opinion (big mistake) but also assumed we will not have issues for a while. Well this summer that compressor failed. I had forgotten about hvac connection (I have been using different companies for small jobs since) but after three different companies told me the compressor is not working I realized it was still under warranty, so they advised to call who installed it. I called hvac connection, they came out and initially I did not mention someone else had looked and checked the units (upstairs and downstairs). After the first check they informed me the unit upstairs is failing and needs to be replaced. They can try fixing it for about $550 but if that doesn't work, it will cost me 4-5k to replace the unit. At this moment, I thought something was fishy - I mean, the unit had just been checked by literally three companies. So, I informed him I don't think that is the issue as different techs came out and confirmed the unit up is just fine and the compressor is dead. At this point, the answer was "yes. The compressor doesn't sound good either". They went ahead and did a "warranty replacement" that cost me $600 for labor (20 min worth of labor). After all this, the AC is still not working and the tech proceeds to tell me "he told me this would not fix my issue" and asked for the payment for the labor. At this point, I asked them to leave the old compressor because I want to confirm with the manufacturer the unit that was replaced (at this point, I don't even know if they used a new compressor for the warranty etc) - the tech told me if I want to keep that I need to pay an extra $500 because he needs to return the warranty to the manufacturer and I needed to cover its cost if I wanted to keep it (please note, how the cost is less than what I was charged for labor for a warranty). I then had a different company come look at the unit. Once again it was confirmed the upstairs unit is just fine (and as a matter of fact, it is working for months at this point for heat). However, he said the compressor is badly installed, the old filter was left inside, and there is a connection to some pipe that was not done correctly. He quoted the entire job at 1000 as there's apparently a lot of cleaning up to do after a poor job I then let hvac connection know I have a report from a different company with a summary of all the errors and how there is an extra filter left inside and there are multiple issues with the installation). They said they would come out again "in a few weeks" because they were so busy to fix it and disappeared. I then contacted them again and they promised a refund via check and told me to use someone else. And if the new compressor is problematic anyone else with a license would be able to fix it (because all hvac companies out there cannot wait to come and clean up messes made by unprofessional companies). I agreed however - at this point I want nothing to do with them. A month later, still no refund. I went ahead and filed a chargeback and did get the money back, but it was such a nightmare. They clearly try to upsell and replace units that can be repaired and it doesn't look like they know what they are doing when they replace the unit either. I would NEVER use them again - they are not honest and they did an extremely poor job. read more

They were so responsive!! Our AC went out and Joel came over right away. He gave an estimate and came over the next day with the needed parts. His price and time estimates were exact. Joel was timely and personable and completed the job with no problems. I highly recommend Joel, and his company HVAC Connection. You can trust that you are getting exactly what you need at a reasonable price. read more

Very conscientious for the repairs and excellent customer service is super very personable and very conscientious of his customers.

I had my old heat pump inspected by another company, and was given an estimate of repairs far out of my budget, and advised to get a new unit. While we're not ready to replace our unit just yet, we wanted to catch up on maintenance and repairs to keep it going. Joel was the only response who gave me an estimate sight unseen, at half the cost I was quoted from the other Guys. Once he arrived the cost was still as we discussed, no surprises. The work was completed in about an hour, though after they had left it had taken me a day to admit to myself that something wasn't right since I was no longer getting cool air. On a Saturday evening after 7pm I messaged Joel again here through Yelp and he immediately gave me a call. Arrived 20 minutes later and fixed the issue right away. Even installed my new thermostat for me. I highly recommend Joel and would be happy to hire him again. read more

We have a Vacation Rental in Las Vegas, we got a referral from a friend to check and fix AC problems before our tenant arrival date. We agreed to pay the high repair cost without bargaining it down because we wanted it to be fixed in time. The guy started the job the he called me to let me know that he had to go buy a small part, and ... when my tenants came 2 days later the AC access through the ceiling still open, AC not working. Fortunately weather was not to bad and our tenants agreed to forgive us if we paid their rent back and we did it happily. We check on yelp and we came up across with Joel, reading some reviews, we knew that is our guy. I called Joel, he picked up the call himself ( not the answering service, please hold) he set up a time to come and check the AC system. He showed up on time, diagnosed the problem, made a recommendation and listened to our concern "time" he said he can do it, we asked for consultation time he agreed. This happened on Monday afternoon he said if we made our decision and wanted to go ahead to replace the whole system and give him the ok by Tuesday morning, he would start on Wednesday and would get our system going on Wednesday night. We called him later on and gave him the ok. Wednesday around 10:00 am his crew arrived with 2 new complete AC system and by 9:30 Wednesday night both AC systems were running in full capacity with 2 new wifi controlled thermostats too. He did not ask for any deposit or prepayment arrangements or any advance money( like what others do to make sure you can not go anywhere else). After everything was done, including setup of the thermostats on my Phone and making sure that I can use the app. Then sales docs and payment started. I have found another trustable person, another good friend and a very honest business owner. Thank you Joel. I recommend him to any one who might need his services. I am sure he can not do every single job that is referred to him but, I am sure he will take care of every job that he accepts, I am sure when he leaves your job site ( business or home), you feel great that you trusted him. Ps: One mor thing, very important one!!! You know in situations like this, when there is no written and signed contract to begin, after wards when it comes to paying the price, most of the contractors forget their promises or prices that they quoted and mostly they come up with excuses to charge you more. In our case things were different, I believe that he understood that we will paying with a bank guaranteed check " we brought it up during price check" but we had to pay by credit card that I am sure would cost him a lot more than cashing a check, but he accepted that with a smile and gave us the discount that he promised us. read more

I am completely impressed with this company!!! The call back was instant, and the AC tech was at the property within an hour. Not at all what you come to expect when the Vegas temps are well over 110! As a property manager and realtor, I know that costs of AC repairs. This company is very competitive and his customer service was exceptional. I will add HVAC Connection LLC to my list of exceptional vendors. read more

Called on a Sunday morning and Joel answered the phone, amazing. Our big unit stopped working the night before and our regular company didn't answer. Anyway, Joel came right over, assessed the problem, gave us a price and had it fixed before noon. This is excellent service. We haven't had a problem since. I will probably use Joel in the future. I really need to add this happened over 2 months ago or more. It was very hot, freaking hot. So, yes, thank you so much for the incredible service. read more

You can't put a price on peace of mind, but you can put a price on an honest contractor and that's nearly the same thing. Joel, the owner/operator of HVAC Connection, is great. I had a new furnace and condenser unit installed by another company who did less than stellar work. A year later when I wasn't seeing the drop in power usage and efficiency I was hoping for I decided to give Joel a call. It turns out my "closed" system wasn't really closed. It was full of leaks. The raised platform my furnace sat on in my garage had been subjected to numerous water leaks as it was shared by the water heater which had burst and leaked at various points in this home's 35 year history and at some point a previous owner had cut a 2' x 3' hole into this platform, presumably to drain it and help it dry out. Not only did the original installers not say anything about it, but they also hadn't properly sealed any of the joints in the venting system above the furnace and they hadn't insulated some of the lines. Essentially, Joel completely uninstalled everything, demolished the platform, rebuilt the platform (he used to be a foreman and a journeyman framer for one of the largest home builders in Nevada), sealed and insulated the platform to make it airtight, bled the system (some of these terms may not be completely accurate as I am am not an HVAC tech), reinstalled everything, re-welded all of the connections, insulated what should have been insulated the first time around and got everything back up and running for less money than the original company charged me for the installation alone. In the end, it looks better, runs better and is finally saving me the 15 to 20 percent that I expected it to. I could not be happier or more impressed with HVAC Connection and give them my highest recommendation. read more

Very disappointed especially after reading all the positive reviews. The company hours reflect 24 hours. The thermostat wasn't allowing the heat to kick on, needed service as soon as possible. Left a detailed message, never received a return call. read more

I had a great experience dealing with HVAC Connection. I needed to have the coils cleaned and they not only gave me a great price, but also great service. I called yesterday and spoke to Joel and told him the issues I was having with a few of their competitors and jewel was not surprised that I was having issues with his competitors and in turn came to my home within the next 30 minutes to make sure that me and my family had air conditioning. AC stopped working, so called HVAC at 9:00PM on a Saturday. Joel picked up, and I set an appointment the very next day at 8:00AM. Joel shows up exactly at 8:00AM, fixes the AC in 45min. Very affordable. Cost was only $65. I'll be contacting Joel for my dishwasher repair as well. Definitely recommend HVAC Connection. I'm pretty picky when it comes to repair companies because they overcharge or cannot accommodate my schedule. But Joel did everything to accommodate me ASAP. Thanks Joel! read more

I called my rental agent when the heat died. They said expect a response w/in 24 hours. An hour later, HVAC Connection called and Mike arrived 30 minutes later. He checked out all of the simple explanations first and when none of them were the culprit, he made his way to the attic. It only took him a few minutes to determine the problem. Checked his truck for the part, came up empty, called his boss, who did have the part, and he took off and was back 30 minutes later to finish the job. I am one warm, very pleased old lady!!! Thank you, Mike! read more

Always a scary situation, when you have to replace a costly A.C. Called Joel. and his response was immediate! Came out with no service charge, and ended up giving us the lowest bid of three! Felt he was very honest and not giving us the sales pitch. Did exactly what he said he would do in the service order time frame! Would definitely recommend him! Sometimes it boils down to not only good price, but the feeling that hes a honest,HVAC guy! Almost like finding a honest mechanic, neither very easy in these times. But you know what? We got lucky this time with Joel!! Dont believe me, if in need, call Joel!! read more

We wanted to simply get a check of our two air conditioning systems. The price quoted beforehand on the phone was $65. The two professional young men arrived and inspected the units as well as the air flow in our home. Joel and HVAC Connection were great! He came out and determined our unit's heat pump was bad. We decided to go with a new unit and he and his crew came out next day and did the install in just under 3 hours as he said it would take. They did such a great job! New unit has warranty? Check, House heats up and cools down? Check, New thermostat? Check, Can control thermostat from the comfort of anywhere? Check! We highly recommend Joel and HVAC Connection. He was straight to the point and got things done. It was also really cool seeing them haul the package unit via crane. read more

Easy 5 stars. I came home late last night to a blistering hot house- my A/C was not turning on, no fan, no heat, no nothing. So this morning I opened a case with my Home Warranty Company, and they assigned a different local A/C company (Air Squad) to do an inspection. However, Air Squad told me the earliest they could come out was 2 days from now. I asked if they had anything earlier as it's 100 degrees out and living in a house with no A/C is torture, and the lady on the phone gave me an attitude saying "I know, I live in Las Vegas too". Never mind their website states 1 hour service. I guess that 1 hour service is only for people that don't go through warranty companies. I then looked up their online reviews, and it seems that the attitude is the norm with them, along with lousy reviews regarding overcharging, unnecessary work, etc. So not wanting to deal with them, I came across the positive Yelp reviews for Joel & HVAC Connection. I called him and to my surprise, he showed up to my house within 1 hour, on a hot Saturday afternoon. After running some checks on my equipment, he found the problem without the need to replace any parts or upsell me on anything at all. Stupid me unknowingly/accidentally turned off a switch in my garage the day before that was killing all power to my A/C. I spent next to nothing for him to come out immediately, check my equipment, and fix the problem. I would have spent more on the service charge for the warranty company to send Air Squad to come out, days later- and who knows what they would have told me or advised. I highly recommend Joel and HVAC Connection. Save your time & money by calling him first if you care for an honest & educated diagnosis. read more

When your AC breaks in June when it's over 100 degrees in las vegas , it's the worst thing that could happen lol . My house was extremely hot rather quickly in such temperatures . I called several AC repair places an none of them could give me any answers or reply to when they could come out to fix it. Joel from HVAC connection not only replied right away but was able to come out that day to fix it. He was extremely helpful and even followed up days later to check on things to make sure it was still working properly. Thank you Joel for being so professional and good at your job! Joel is great!! He got to my house about 15 minutes after I called him. My compressors were shot, and he advised me to get a new unit, because mine was already about ten years old, and would just continue to break. (It needed a $700 repair last year.) He installed a new unit the next day for $6,300. By time I got home from work, my house was cool again. In less than 24 hours my problem was solved :) He was very friendly and professional, and worked with me to get me financed, because this was a very sudden and unexpected expense. I have friends who have paid much more, and who have not gotten very good service for their money. I'm really glad I went with Joel instead of one of the bigger companies, because the bigger companies tend to overcharge. read more

I consulted a few companies to replace my AC unit and convert my furnace to gas. None of them except for Joel seemed interested in converting my furnace to gas and the ones that were willing to do it gave me estimates so high that I thought I would be stuck with heat pump in this house forever. Joel however insisted I scrap the heat pump and install a gas furnace even though it was way more work for him without any more financial reward. I wish everyone had the same work ethic as Joel. read more

Great service honest hard working fellas. Would definitely recommend to friends and family

My Air Conditioning went out last night (August 7th). This morning I called a few places and Joel was 1 of 2 places that actually responded. But he went above and beyond as he was actually going to try and fit me in BEFORE his first appointment while the company that serviced my air conditioning in the past sent a text that they were no longer taking air conditioning calls due to the height of the season!! He texted when he was on his way. He was amazing. Joel is professional, polite, direct and to the point. He fixed my unit in less than a half an hour (Thank God!!!!). He could have jacked up his prices due to my desperation but instead was extremely honest, a quality you don't find too often. I highly recommend him/the company (which is an understatement). Thank you!! read more

My A/C went out last night and I called Joel and left a message. Got a call back from him in the morning with a quote and saw that afternoon. He was honest, reliable and got the job done quickly. My house is nice and cool again. He'll definitely be my go to HVAC person. read more

Joel has helped me with two different air conditioning problems. On his first visit to my house he hooked up a split air unit for my workshop that works perfectly. On his second visit my central air unit had stopped working. I had the original company out that installed the unit a few weeks prior to fix a problem with a fan stuck on. Since they had worked on it the unit started having other issues. Joel came out and diagnosed the circuit board being bad and the condenser fan was burnt out. The other company cut a wire to stop the fan which was stuck on which caused other issues to arise. Both my split air and central unit work perfect after Joel fixed them and the prices were very reasonable. I would recommend his work. read more

Joel the owner responded immediately to my call for AC repair. He arrived on the designated time. Upon hearing what we felt was the problem, Joel gave us an idea of what was wrong and what would be the estimated cost. Joel was friendly, trustworthy and answered our many questions. Before leaving he checked the system inside and outside and ensured the system was working properly. What we thought would be a very painful experience turned out to be quite a relief. We found someone fair whom we could call on again when and if we needed help with heating and air conditioning issues. read more

I called HVAC Connection after reading all of the positive reviews on Yelp. He was not able to get to my house the day I called which was totally understandable but he did say he would be there first thing the next morning. He arrived at the time he told me. Of course when he came in the house the problem I called him about didn't happen and the A/C appeared to be working fine. Joel said he would stay for a while to see if the problem re-occurs while he was here. In the meantime, he and his tech checked out what they could but everything looked normal. Joel asked me to call him whenever I saw the problem again. That happened about 2 hrs after he left and he said to me. "We'll be back there in 30 minutes." 30 minutes later he was at the door. Excellent customer service! read more

My one year old twins who usually nap for a couple hours woke up within less than 30 minutes after I put them down the other day. I went up to the nursery to see what was going on, and it was pretty chilly in there. They weren't sleeping because they were cold! We quickly discovered that something had happened with our heater and it just completely stopped working. I looked on Yelp, called HVAC Connection and within a couple hours Joel came to our home. He went in to the attic and quickly discovered there was a small part with a crack in it that needed to be replaced. He was able to get the part we needed and came back to fix the problem early the next morning. From the time I called him to the time he fixed our heater for us, the problem was resolved in less than 24 hours. Joel arrived at my rental at his scheduled time. He got right to work. He was very thorough with the unit outside. He then crawled into the attic and diagnosed the problem, made his calls to get the part replaced. He told me he would be back the next day.
