A really awesome little, locally owned toy shop in one of the busier parts of Venice. There is a tiny parking lot on the side of the building, but there's only room enough for one or two cars, so street parking will be your easiest option. The attendant behind the counter was very nice and they do have a good selection of toys. I would say the selection is a bit limited in terms of size, but we are still able to find some really good items and were especially happy to see that they had some JellyCat items that we did not have. Great place. When I walked in there were three employees behind the counter, and they immediately greeted me and asked how they could help. I needed advice on getting a gift for a 3 yr old and they were full of suggestions. There are previous reviews warning of inattentive teenager employees, but that problem seems to have been fixed. What I did get though, were stares as I walked in, to the tune of "oh they're not going to buy anything", and constant gawks as I walked around the store as if I was going to steal something. From board games to gag gifts to retro toys (including Gumby!). My kids picked out several toys which cost me way less than I would spend at a traditional toy store. And they have the cutest little shopping carts so your kids will feel like true shoppers. Quality toys at great prices is just what the mama ordered. If you stop in to pick up a gift for that special young one in your life, the courteous cashier will wrap it up, free of charge (so no need to stop by another store for wrapping paper or a gift bag). Located on a super busy stretch of Lincoln, it's really easy to pass by Huzzah's and never realize what a find it is! The owner is always here and greets you right away as soon as you walk in and asks if you need help. He'll leave you alone if you don't but will be readily available behind the counter. It's not a very big place so he's within earshot. Very knowledgeable about everything in the store he has good recommendations if you need it. As for the store it's chock full of wonderfully curated items for baby and kids and adults. Well the adults that still have the kids in them. Which is me! They have a great variety of items for every age and a ton of eco friendly and educational toys. And of course just a bunch of cute stuff. I've been finding some great items for my nieces and nephews and sometimes for myself. It's also pretty quiet so you'll have plenty of peace while trying not to buy everthing there. Prices are pretty affordable and you'll even find that some items are cheaper here than online! Whee! It's hard to find stores that can beat online prices. They have a website too in case you can't make it in. Make it a point to specially come here and give yourself time to browse. The shelves are filled to the brim with items to maximize the space. What a perfect location for a toy store! Right off of Lincoln Blvd and what a beautiful, well stocked store too! Popped in when we got a last minute invite to a kids birthday party (don't you love those) and what a gem I've found. Store is much larger than it looks from the outside. I have been coming to the store since they opened. I do find that the owner picks really cool, unique toys for the store as well as a vintage selection that you can't find in other stores. However their customer service lately is mediocre. There are young people working there and they aren't very friendly. When I was there this morning the store was a little busy and a little boy walked in without his parents and was asked to go back outside because of the stores capacity. I think that was irresponsible of the young person behind the counter. What they should have said was could you please go with your parent and let them know we have to wait because the store is full? It seems like they are just a bunch of teens bitching behind the counter while people are shopping. Customer service is basically 90% of your business. If your employees are bored teenagers, I respectfully would ask you to reconsider your hiring choices. I don't really look forward to going to huzzah for the last two times that I've been, I don't feel the magic of the store that I first did when I first started coming. I told a salesperson my budget and a bit about the kids and voila, I was presented with a great array of options at a good price and with the coolest personalized gift wrap. This is not a large store but it seems to have what you need and the shopping experience seems to be a large improvement over my online experiences (and I am an avid online shopper).
