I'm sharing this for safety reasons…read more During a squat session a few months back, I told my trainer that my back was hurting during the squats. Despite this, I was instructed to complete another set. During that final set, I injured my back badly enough that I could not walk afterward. At no point was the exercise stopped, reduced, or modified when I reported pain. I still can't squat, my back isn't fully recovered. Afterward, communication was disappointing. When my husband and I later explained that we needed to pause training due to finances, we received no response. Regardless of certification or experience level, a trainer should prioritize client safety, listen when pain is reported, and communicate professionally. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. Update: After posting this review, the trainer contacted me and offered me money to take my review down. Since he can't contact me he reached out to my husband regarding my review. I am adding this update for transparency.

It showed I lost 5" all around! Say what? Then we went up a notch and in a total of 4 months I lost 15lbs and 18" all around! Yes 18". Now my abs are POPPING! I'm also now wearing a size 2 jean--which I've never been in before. His program is a no nonsense, no fad or silly workout routine. It's a comprehensive program for anyone who is serious about weight loss and getting in shape. It's super simple. Seth is amazing to work with. He is very confident and knowledgeable. He can work through any issues with injury, diet, etc. He guides you through the workouts and encourages you along the way. The accountability alone made a huge difference and kept me consistent even when motivation dipped. And if anyone has an excuse, it's me--I have three kids, one with special needs, a job, and real life happening nonstop--yet this program was still realistic and doable. Beyond the physical changes, my confidence is at an all-time high and I finally feel strong, capable, and proud of my body. The office is very inviting and it's judgement free. I recommend this place as real gym to workout at and not have to fight over equipment! Also, they are very considerate and caring if you had previous injuries and will work to strengthening your muscles with care and provide information on injury prevention and appropriate body alignment.

This was the best choice I have ever made for myself and my results speak for themselves. I recommend if you are looking for a fun and challenging workout to give this place a try. There is modifications for any body type. The hardest part was actually getting here but after it becomes a routine you look forward to it everyday. They offer alternative exercises if you have had knee injuries, or other injuries, in the past or something to that effect. They'll walk you through the different "stations" prior to starting, will monitor your progress and form, and offer guidance to anyone who needs it. They don't scream at people who take a quick rest, but will make sure you're still pushing yourself throughout the workout. I would've liked to sign-on to continue a membership here, but due to my job requiring me to travel at different times, it didn't seem like that was a viable option. It's difficult finding gyms that can pause memberships for certain circumstances. (I get it, it's a lot to ask.) Regardless, I'd recommend this bootcamp to anyone looking for a good workout that will keep you motivated. The other patrons share the same goals as you and everyone seems to support each other. **Cool note: I got sick towards the end of my promo membership and determined it best to stay home, away from others while I got better. Long post alert! This is a note for folks of all ages,…read moreshapes, and fitness levels: So. I was the person who talked to countless gyms after my own gym closed without notice (Burst! Fitness). Prior to Burst! I was kind of a gym drifter. EOS, LA Fit, Planet Fit, Crunch Fit. I tried them all on for size. Didn't like them (nothing wrong with them, just didn't quite meet my needs). The search continued. I started deep-diving on the internet. There had to be an existing place out there that fit my needs right?? Over several months and consultations with private gyms in Tempe, Phoenix, and Scottsdale- Underground Fitness showed up on my radar. Leading up to my initial meeting with them, I was pretty deflated. Perfection is subjective- and I'd been looking for my version of a perfect fit for months and hadn't even come close. If I was going to join a gym at this point, I needed some convincing. But not in the typical gym-salesman pitch way. I needed to be bought-in. I needed to see the passion. The knowledge, the dedication, the practicing-what-you-preach. The ability to teach. I don't know maybe I'm a tough sell with unrealistic expectations *shrugs* My meeting went well. Ron was patient. I asked so many questions I made my own self tired. He didn't get tired. All of my reservations were addressed. I was satisfied. By the end of the meeting I could tell, this guy could seriously talk about this stuff all day. Passion: check. The program I selected felt like it would work with my schedule, the price was comfortable, and so far the customer service was on point. Ok...ok...willing to give these guys a chance. What's 9 weeks, am I right? That was in September 2019. It is now February 2020, 5 months later- I'm fully bought in. It did take some time to realize that this was the place for me, so I encourage readers of this review to keep that in mind. From my very beginning the team at Underground Fitness was communicative, invested in my success, flexible, creative, and believed in me more than I did. For those who I've worked with: Ron never blinked an eye when I needed to talk to him about absolutely anything at all (literally anything). Camille comes to my aide with worksheets, resources and meal ideas as I struggle with meeting my macros. She checks in on my off days, finger always on the pulse. She gently pushes me when I'm being a huge baby. She throws fun creative workouts our way, during which I can be observed smiling from ear to ear. They are so fun! The hour is over before I even know it! Daniel challenges every inch of air available in my lungs with creative circuits, helping me learn to use my body as an extension of myself. Teaching me how to stay grounded in my workouts (I can be super ADD). Each of them keeping a critical eye on form and technique. They are patient when I am low energy and have a sad workout. They are excited for me when I make progress. Even though these team members have spent years learning the fitness do's and don'ts for themselves, I never feel anything but encouraged when demonstrating my own lack of knowledge in nutrition and physiology. I can't tell you how many times I got talked off of the cliffs I put myself on. Active listening here folks! Guys, I didn't know what a fitness partnership looked or felt like until I met the U-fit team. You just have to let them be part of your journey, you won't regret it! The End

The workouts are challenging, and I always leave feeling accomplished and energized. Has been quite a while since I have done any type of weight training, and finally made the decision that it was time to get back to a gym. Glad I made Underground Fitness my choice.
