Up until Monday, I have experienced as their website claims: "outstanding customer service that has been our hallmark for the past 25 years." Helen is the absolute best! After receiving a $150 bill for a 20 min service repair to clean a flame sensor rod at 4:30 pm last Friday, I requested a conversation with the CEO to negotiate a more reasonable price, and to discuss his policy about my furnace's full warranty only applying if I purchased the yearly service check at the cost of $89/yr, which I didn't find out about until after installation. I experienced an even bigger disappointment with the phone call response to my concern about the high cost for such a simple repair to detect & fix that I watched the tech perform. A full furnace cleaning and tune-up is $70. Mike D'Andrea was argumentative, demeaning and outright arrogant in response to my complaint - He tried to use every sales technique in the book to justify the supposed value I received despite my continual objection - including reference to an article about "firing your customers." He insisted that the HVAC industry sets the standard for fair prices and perceived value, despite what the local market demands. He continually tried to "educate" me with sales pitches about "flat rate price formulary books" that provide powerful sales tools to increase profit margins with higher service invoices using opaque mark-ups. This practice is outlined in "Setting Your Flat-Rate Prices" by Charlie Greer who touts that he helps "contractors become Millionaires every day" on www.hvacprofitboosters.com. Despite 'Flat Rate' business model promises of incredible profit margins, reduced costs, simplified accounting, etc.--the savings don't seem to be shared with repeat customers. It's a deceptive make-money-quick scheme designed to cover up an outrageous marked-up hourly rate. Buyer beware--itemized invoices are segregated in order to protect the consumer from unfair billing and up-charges by the service provider. Enlightening responses to consumer complaints about Flat-Rate Pricing practices can be found on Angie's List. I definitely will be taking future business to a company committed to making a good faith effort to resolve consumer complaints. Lesson learned.

They also only cleaned 2 out of 3 Now I removed the use of the downspouts and redirected the water so these were not in use. But they said if I cleaned these the issue would go away. After the service they then came back and said I needed a sump pump installed. They also would not issue a credit on the original work request even though they were wrong. So I got to say working with these guys was a definite mixed bag…read more I have a contractor out installing French doors into the backyard for my garage when all of a sudden the electric stopped working in the garage. Now I work from home out of the garage, yes even in December, so this was a pretty big deal! No blown breakers, no clear issues. I called the electrician I have used in the past but he was busy for the next week so I went on the Irondequoit Facebook page and I ended up finding these guys. Over the phone they were very professional they were even able to come out that day in a few hours to check out the issue. They arrived promptly and were able to figure out what the problem was pretty easily and the rates were not horrible. Whenever you hire a skilled tradesman you know there's going to be some costs just have them check out the problem. The issue comes with what happened after they left. They left about half of the breakers in my breaker box flipped for some unknown reason. Maybe it was part of diagnosing the problem but they were the breakers that I was having an issue with. Where it gets worse is that one of those breakers was to my hot tub! I'm a new hot tub owner and we've only had this thing for less than 5 months. Turns out when you shut the power off to the hot tub it resets all the settings including the heater! Nothing God today was a super warm day and we tried to go in the hot tub only to find the water was 67° not 100. If we hadn't caught this now then the water would eventually frozen over the winter and destroyed the hot tub. As it is I'm still out a fun day with my family on this unseasonably warm day. I'm not saying not to use these guys if you need some electrical help but I'm definitely saying double check their work and make sure that everything is as it should be before they leave.
