Mac's is the best! The ice houses are clean, functional, and well outfitted with all the gear needed to have a good time on the lake. Customer service is excellent and friendly, especially for novices to ice fishing. Check out their 14 hole houses -- palaces on ice! I would recommend Mac's to anyone looking for a great ice fishing experience.

I've only gone icefishing a handful of times but it was the nicest icehouse I had ever been in. They are worth checking out if you're planning to rent an icehouse on Mille Lacs. Mac's has a restaurant and bar as well a small office for renting icehouses and lake passes. I visited the restaurant and bar both for some late night drinks and for breakfast. At night, the bar has a lively atmosphere, good service, and stiff drinks. Everything you'd expect from a bar up north right on the lake. The next morning, we went for breakfast. The bartender/ waitress offered the breakfast buffet for free with purchase of a drink because she said they were still working on their breakfast menu which I thought this was generous of them. If you're planning to be up in the Mille Lacs for fishing or want a stop to place to drink some food or a drink on the east side of Mille Lacs, Mac's is worth a look.

We camped here recently. The bathrooms/showers are private and nice. We booked a full hook up site,…read morebut there were no full hookups. When we inquired, they said that they hadn't done that yet (they recently expanded their camping area) but were hoping to get the tanks in soon. They did give us $10 off each night when we inquired about it, but had we not inquired, we are certain they wouldn't have said anything. They have a family fun park, but it was not included in the price of camping, and it was $30/person/day which we thought was outrageous. They had part of it closed by 3pm anyways. The pool didn't open until 11am so we waited a long time to get into the pool and we couldn't use it the last day we were there, because of the checkout time. The pool itself is narrow and smaller than what you would expect.

What started out as a promising RV resort Fiddlestix has unfortunately turned into a major…read moredisappointment. After spending the last three seasons at Fiddlestix RV Park, we are walking away for good--and would strongly advise others to look elsewhere for seasonal camping. When we first visited as weekenders, management promoted exciting upgrades in the works: a larger pool (since the current one is far too small for the number of sites), a patio bar/snack room, live bands, and regular weekend events throughout the season. Year after year, none of these ever materialized. Instead, we got excuse after excuse--while seasonal rates kept rising and established amenities disappeared. The most glaring example was at the start of the 2025 season: the day after all seasonal payments were due in full, management announced they were closing the 9-hole golf course--one of the key amenities. Only after pushback from seasonals did they agree to leave five holes open, but the deceptive timing of that announcement spoke volumes about how this place is run. From there, things spiraled further downhill: - Constant staff turnover and multiple management shakeups. - Clubhouse, bar, and food hours that were unpredictable at best. - Zero organized weekend events (unless funded and run by seasonals themselves). - No communication, no consistency, and no progress toward a pool that matches the size of the park. To make matters worse, Chuck and Marilyn Appeldoorn, the owners, treated long-term guests like an inconvenience rather than valued customers. Feedback was dismissed outright, and at one point they brought in an inexperienced "manager" from another one of their businesses who had no background in running/managing an RV resort. Seasonals were even told they had to "interview" with management to determine if they were eligible to stay another year--something I've never experienced at any other RV park and just another example of feeling unwelcome. At the end of the day, all we were left with was a larger lot (one of the few positives) surrounded by broken promises, inconsistent operations, and a constant feeling of not being welcome. The lack of transparency, professionalism, and customer care made it impossible to enjoy our time here. We will not be returning, and I would strongly recommend anyone considering Fiddlestix RV Park to think twice. Outside of the bigger sites, you'll find nothing but expensive rates, inconsistent service, and owners who don't care about their patrons. Their tagline should read "Expensive and Unpredictable".
