My dad took me here on my birthday or shortly after. Ive not been on the lake for a long time. He told me, you don't need to bring gear or bait. They will have it all. We had lunch and the waitress seemed less than concerned about the timeline. To getting on the boat, and finding out the gear was iffy. There was a cooler with some tired leeches in it. And although the crew was nice, it was not a great experience. One walleye and three perch for 20+ people. Some dude vaping and smoking back-and-forth, not far away from us, no one seemed particularly concerned about that. It was early afternoon and I suppose that fewer fish should be expected, but it was definitely not an exceptional experience. Somebody said they were selling the place. But my opinion is that they should do a lot more to take care of the customers they still have, before that happens... If that happens... Nice enough crew, but I think they should continue to take care of the customers they still have regardless... read more

Came up here for a guys weekend and rented a fish house for the weekend. All we caught was a bunch of 12 ouncers. Workers and owner here are a hoot and definitely try and make your trip the best it could be. Multiple times they stopped out at the house and had a cocktail with us....good hospitality. The luxury fish houses aren't very luxury, but what do you expect when fishing? Had breakfast at the restaurant, good greasy food. I probably didn't need those extra 2 eggs, but well worth it. Rented out the big cabin for my buddies batchelor party. Place was perfect! Has full working kitchen 2 bathrooms, plenty of beds for larger groups! Nice big attached garage and a fire pit. Had a great time! Linda was very accommodating! She was very nice and respectful! Did a very good job making sure our weekend went smoothly! Went on the boat launch which was awesome! They were doing an excellent job keeping us on the fish. Let us DJ and bring our own coolers for beer! Food at the bar wasn't half bad! Twin pines is the perfect spot for a great weekend! Lodging, bar, and boat launch all in the same place! Highly recommend taking a trip to twin pines! We will be coming back for my batchelor party for sure! read more

We were up at our friends cabin by Lake Mille Lacs. This is a cute family owned restaurant. There is a dining area on the left and a bar area on the right. Service here was great. The waitresses were in constant motion taking food and drink orders and bringing out food as soon as it was ready. They give you a coffee carafe for those who drink a lot of it (definitely this girl!). They were very friendly on both occasions and deserve thumbs up! Food one day was ok and the next was good! I tried two different omelets and would definitely recommend the philly steak and cheese. Yum. The hash browns were good but here's the thing... On my first visit they asked if I wanted cheese on the hash browns. Sure because in my mind, everything is better with cheese. Well, when you barely melt a piece of processed sliced cheese, it really wasn't better. Oh well. With their friendly and welcoming environment, I wouldn't mind stopping back. My family and I stayed here for one night a couple of weeks ago, and I'm glad it was for only one night. The house was not clean at all and had a horrible smell. The bathroom door doesn't shut all the way or lock, so beware of that. There is no lake view, and to get to the boat launch you have to cross traffic on a highway which the speed limit is 55, all with no crosswalk or anything, they just tell you good luck. Finally the worst part is the signs they have hanging up inside. It is an absolute disgrace that a place would post signs like "this is America, we speak English" "we will keep our guns and freedom, you keep the change". How this makes anyone feel welcome, especially anyone of color is beyond me. I would encourage anyone to not give another dime to this place, I know we never will. read more

Ended up eating here because my husband has used their ice house services in the winter with his buddies a couple years running, so he was familiar with it, and we were hungry after coming back from a weekend of camping and diving in Crosby. Menu is pretty basic, breakfast stuff, sandwiches, chicken, ribs etc. I went with a simple omelette (might have been ham and cheese) with toast, which was, as my stars indicate, A-OK. Service is good and the staff is friendly. We had a pup with us so we sat outside. I did venture inside to use the restroom. My friend and I both noted some of the inside was cluttered...it looks like they use part of the restaurant as a living room, heh, no other way to describe it. They work in a pinch, but if you can wait until you're further south (if you're heading that direction to begin with at least), I'd hit up The Launch (FKA Eddy's) for more variety, tastier food, and a nice beer list. read more

I went for lunch and ordered lemon pepper walleye. The salad bar was great, but didn't include soup which was part of the order deal. I wasn't asked if I wanted 1 or 2 pieces of fish, but was given 2 and charged for it. Half way through my first piece I realized I was eating bones... I pulled at least ten bones out of the rest of the fish. I did not eat the other piece and pointed out the bones I removed to my waitress who just said sorry about that. Brought my bill in to pay with the bartender, who turned out to also be the cook, and explained the 2 piece charge and bones. She apologized and charged me for the 1 piece of fish. What a fun place! Spent the night over on a whirlwind, first-time tour of Minnesota. The view from our rooms overtop the restaurant was spectacular. I felt like I stepped into the past, a good part of the past. The rooms had all the comforts of home, comfy mattresses, kitchen facilities, good WiFi, and that amazing view of Mille Lacs. Had dinner at the restaurant: our first taste of walleye, broasted chicken, hash browns, yum. Winner winner/chicken dinner. Paired with a G&T, some great service, and a welcome that made us feel like we were in our living room. A happy place to be. Bottomless coffee on the porch in the morning with more view and a hearty breakfast of ham steak and eggs (oh yeah, and a rocking Bloody Mary), and we were on our way. Linda, the owner, and the waitstaff were so friendly and entertaining. A winner for sure. Retro heaven. All this and fishing too! Two buddies of mine and I went ice fishing for the first time (bucket list). When we arrived it was like walking into Cheers, everyone in the bar area welcomed us in and called us affectionately the "Kansas City Boys". When we went into town for supplies people already knew we were coming and welcomed us in like one of their own. Living on the ice was an experience of a life time, all provided by Twin Pines and the meals they serve up for you, WOW, let's just say if you go hungry then it's your own fault. We were recommended Twin Pines by the local owner of the Flea Market just down the road and I'm thankful! The restaurant is very clean and has a northern MN fishing resort vibe. Almost every seat in the house has a great view of the lake which was perfect on a sunny afternoon. The waitstaff was lighting fast and very attentive. I didn't sit in the bar but from the looks and sounds of the group hanging out, the bar staff are on point as well. The best part about this place is of course the food. We ordered two breakfast items, based on the local recommendation again, and they were excellent. The corn beef hash omelette took up and entire plate and was creamy and delicious. It's packed with corn beef, of course, and swiss cheese which complimented the harsh perfectly. The #7 7 Layer was everything you love about breakfast stacked together in a more than generous portion. Even with different breakfast meats, eggs and cheese it wasn't a greasy meal, just really good. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone traveling up north. I'm willing to bet it's a better option that anything the casino will offer! read more

We had gathered here with my wife, brother-in-law and his wife, and my two sister-in-laws for a mini sibling reunion. Twin Lines Resort was selected because it was a midway location between the Twin Cities and where one of my sister-in-law lived in Northern Minnesota and because it was located on Mille Lacs Lake. We took advantage of the Eat, Sleep, Fish package and it was a great deal. The portions on the meals were more than generous and very good. Especially enjoyed the omelets and eating walleye for the first time. We really enjoyed getting to know Linda, who was in charge at Twin Lines and does such an excellent job. The guides on our fishing expeditions were first class and did a great job to make these trips a fun and peaceful experience. The cabins were very rustic, but very comfortable. Our time at Twin Pines Resort was great and very much want to come back again. We would highly recommend Twin Pines Resort to anyone visiting the Mille Lacs Lake area. The only drawback is the unreasonable restrictions that the Minnesota DNR has placed on fishing at Mille Lacs Lake such as using only artificial bait to fish for bass or walleye. That was very much the top topic of discussion during our time at Two Pines. read more

Didn't stay at the resort, did fish out of the launch. It was a lot of fun. Captain was extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Did all he could to ensure we caught fish and enjoyed the trip. Spent last weekend in one of Twin Pines ice houses. Been going there with buddies for the last five years. Fishing was ok. Shack was what we expected. We were getting off the ice Sunday afternoon. We were behind their plow truck. He couldn't get make it up with 2wd and chains. He gassed it and spun the tires, throwing a rock 40 ft through my windshield. Owner couldn't have been a bigger ass about it. I was nice but firm and it ended with him yelling, " we'll take me to f...ing court then." All this while people were eating in the next room. Will gladly take my business elsewhere, even if it costs more. Rather pay a good person more $$ than a bad one less read more

Stopped in here for a Saturday Afternoon beer and snack. After reading the post on here about it being so in politically incorrect we thought we would give it a try. :) It is a nice Family owned with Great American Pride restaurant. The picture of assholes (noted in a review below) was just a photo taken from fishing story a bunch of guys mooning the camera. Stories that they have hanging all over. Fun Homey atmosphere. Called multi times for reservations to fish and put on hold. Finally made reservation and on day of called to ask if launch going out in windy weather. "no problem" come on up. Drove 100 miles to find out "not going but can you hang around for 5 hours for the next one". Bait and switched me. Had my cell # no call.
