Not very friendly owner and employees, but fresh clams, oysters, and produce. The ice cream is to rave about. Aside from that the store also has some emergency campsite items. We left with two dozen oysters and a dozen of fresh farm corn. My son loved the outdoor area. They are wearing their masks, so that was greatly appreciated. Public bathrooms are available. read more

Fun place to go in the fall for their pumpkin patch and corn maze. We stop here occasionally for a massive waffle cone of Olympic Creamery Ice Cream. Fun assortment of jams, jellies, and relishes. Soups and sauces and pickles. Wines, beer and cider. Often times they have fresh oysters at a reasonable price. I've never purchased produce here. I recommend stopping by for refreshments and an ice cream cone if you're driving the 106. read more

Since 1990 my family had come to this farm for pumpkins, produce and garden needs every year when we are staying at our cabin. It is so disappointing that they now charge for the tractor/hay rides, animal viewing and hay maze. It doesn't make sense why a mom and pop farm would want to shy away from the values they once held. I understand the need to expand because of increased for traffic, but not how much they are capitalizing on every-little-thing. Forget about parking in the lot on a popular weekend, just park on the street somewhere and walk. Their ICE CREAM is a must try, the Pistachio/Espresso is delicious. The homemade SALSA and PICKLED ASPARAGUS is pretty fantastic too. read more

How fun! I would love to come here during the fall... The produce is fresh and cheap. The nursery is huge, tons of options for anything you're looking for ( in season). It is worth the trip out here if you live in Bremerton/ Kitsap area. My girlfriend and I came here while staying at Mason Lake and it makes for a fun morning adventure. Their are a couple cute shops along the route, as well as Alderbrook and the Robin Hood resort. Definitely make a stop if you are in the area. read more

Great selection of plants and an enjoyable place to shop. We drive out from Olympia because the prices are good and plants are healthy and the staff is knowledgeable. They have a little fruit and veggie store also where you can you grab an ice cream cone too :) They stock little bit of this and that such as wine and cougar gold cheese, jams. read more

OK The store is nothing to write home about but the corn. If you want the absolute best, sweetest freshest corn in the world, this is the place. It's grown just up the river valley and not sure if it's the soil or the climate or what but it's incredible. I come here every late summer/fall and stock up. Big fat cobs and so sweet and tender. It's worth a drive out to Hood Canal just for this corn. They usually have a little self serve honesty stand on 101 just north of the Shelton airport or you can get it at their main farm by heading east from the fish hatchery. Follow the signs for Hunter Farms. They got other stuff besides corn. But the corn. Corn corn corn. Just seeing how much more I need to write about the corn before the little thing at the bottom turns to say my review is "Epic." Oh hey... there it goes. read more

This was a cool little stop as we were diving around. The farm store has a little of just about everything except a gas station. There's fresh farm products, ice cream by the pint or freshly scooped, almost everything you'd find in convenience stores (milk, beer, candy, etc), and even a mini Ace Hardware in the back! Hunter Farms is going to make it's way into our fall traditions! We went out here today, and I was a little skeptical based on other yelp reviews. Everyone is complaining about paying $2.50 per person, but this charge not only covers the tractor ride out to the pumpkin patch, it also covers entry into the corn maze, hay maze, and animal area. That is ridiculously cheap for a corn maze! Average prices run between $5-$7 per person at other places. The staff is super friendly. It was drizzling so we skipped the corn maze, but the kids had a blast in the hay maze...which is complete with tunnels and a slide! We took the tractor ride out to the pumpkin patch, but decided to stay on instead of picking pumpkins due to the rain. Walked around and pet various farm animals, then headed to their general store to grab a bag of yummy kettle corn. I definitely recommend this place for families looking for affordable fall fun..we spent $10 total for our family of four and had a lot of fun! read more

I had read all the of the reviews of this place. I was looking forward to coming here. I finally went with my kids yesterday. So, so disappointed! I give two stars only because it is a beautiful set up they have there. Other than that, I will not be going back. I have two reasons. "Hello, is anybody home?!" Do you know how ridiculous your prices are for your useless activities?! Let's see. One dollar for EACH pumpkin sling?!! Come on you people! One dollar to go down a slide?!! Three dollars for me and my kids to ride the little tractor to get a pumpkin?! I understand making a profit, but let's face reality. You know it's a ripoff. It is very sad that when my own kids tell me it is all a ripoff! But I have another BIG issue. It did not feel like a trip to a casual farm. I had this odd feeling I was being watched. My own kids told me independently that they felt this way. I know you think your place is Disneyland, but my kids will choose another farm to visit. You give the big impression that money is your goal. You could at least have some kind of veneer that you are really focusing on families having fun. Greenhouse are great in spring and summer. Local ice cream is the best price around and with best selection. Most place want a dollar more a cone. Makes it affordable to come more often. Never had a service problem. Great local fruit and vegetables in summer and fall. Actually avoid on weekends before Halloween...to many people for me. During the week right after school is best for us. Good run around for the kids and I can grab fresh food for dinner. But we eat dessert first the ice cream is a must. This spot is great for the fall and for fun festivities. They have booths and areas to walk around and view lots of pumpkins and greenery. They even have hot dog stands and other local stands that they promote. They have a small grocery store to buy local goods and items like honey, jams, jellies, etc. They use tractors to get people out to the pumpkin fields to pick out their very own special pumpkin. The patch is pretty huge and a really fun way to pick out a variety of pumpkins. The drive out there is a little out there for many and along the water, so of course its beautiful. I would certainly recommend it for a fun activity. They also are very family and kid friendly! read more

I love this little place. Don't expect anything like the farmer's market in Oly but hey, this place is only 15 minutes from my home and it's a beautiful ride. All of the produce I've had from here was great. The fresh corn was excellent and affordable. I purchased some whole oysters here and they were creamy with a good salty brine flavor, loved em. The dark cherry rum ice cream now sits in the halls of my most favorite ice creams of all time. I sent my girlfriend back the next day to get a quart of it, and no I didn't share it with anyone! They have heirloom tomatoes, corn, peaches, squash, apples, cabbage, etc. Oysters, Clams, Salmon, and some other packaged meat. They also have jars of local honey, relish, salsa, chow chow, and peppers. I didn't check out the flowers or plants for sale. Will be going back for sure. I would like to experience and go to this place, but I will not use them as a pumpkin patch. Why? Because I refuse to pay an entry fee for each person in my group before I even buy food or a pumpkin. That feels very unfair and almost like robbery. So if I person stops to think that first there is an entry fee, then you buy food, cider, kettle corn or whatever, then you pay for the corn maze, pay for the wagon ride and then pay for a pumpkin that's quite a bit of paying for the experience of getting a pumpkin or two. So I take my pumpkin patch business to a different local family business who does not nickel and dime me at every turn. Hunter Farms I would come to you but not on these terms in fact I might spend more based on the fact that I did not have to pay to get in first. read more

We drive a little over 2 hours just to come here for the pumpkin patch and our kids love it! There's lots to explore, tractor rides to pick out your own pumpkins, lots of photo ops, hay maze, corn maze, ice cream (though not free of peanut contact so our toddler couldn't have any due to his allergy), good produce, and great prices. Just back an hour ago from choosing our Christmas tree in the Shelton farm. A lovely brisk muddy trek. The trees were fresh and varied and surprisingly inexpensive... but best of all was Juan who appeared out of nowhere and had to be the sweetest fellow I've met in ages. He made sure our choice of tree was recently cut and made us feel like our being there was an honor. We know where we'll be getting our tree from now on. read more

I really enjoyed my visit here, mostly the animals. I love that you can go check out the animals, the pigs enjoyed the petting. The greenhouse was amazing, had we not been from out of town I would've spent a chunk of money in the greenhouses. Fresh vegetable selection is excellent. The store was sad, very very filthy. We took the kids here for the pre-Halloween scene the Saturday before Halloween in 2011. It is a beautiful setting with tons of pumpkins and gourds to choose from at really good prices. Entry to the hay maze and ride was only $2 and the animals were awesome! The food was done by vendors and wasn't as good or cheap as it could have been, although the roasted corn, funnel cakes and kettle corn were pretty good. When we arrived, there was a live band playing with violins, a base, guitars and a banjo. It all had a very rustic, non-flashy feel perfect for children and families. The only downside besides the food was that the pumpkin patch we were taken to was very sparse and picked-over. True, it was 2 days before Halloween, but it was kind of a bummer. All in all, we would go again and definitely recommend it to friends. read more

Yet another example of greed in our society. I've been coming here for Halloween pumpkins for several years but my recent visit will surely be my last. I was incredulous to arrive only to find out I had to wait in a line with about 50-75 other people in order to first pay $2.50 (per person mind you) for the privilege of buying their pumpkins. WTF?! Really, a cover charge for a freakin' pumpkin field? Before I even saw a pumpkin I was out $10 in order for my family to be deemed worthy of entrance. You greedy pigs! You should burn in the eternal fires for taking such advantage of people. We're done! We're though! I'm breaking up with you and I will instead court one of my local pumpkin growers that still possess integrity. read more

I've heard so many great things about this place during October pumpkin season and after years of driving by we decided to stop in. Wish we wouldn't have even wasted our time. I understand the river flooded not too long ago but this place was a dump. Everywhere you look there was mud and not just any kind of mud it was the stinky mud. You were almost forced to take a tractor ride to go get a pumpkin which was prob 1/2 from the main area. We decided to walk because we're not fans of taking a tractor ride. Then all of the attractions were so smooshed together that we didn't even want to attempt anything. After spending an hour tracking through mud and disappointed in every other attraction there, we left and decided to go back to the pumpkin patch we usually attend every year. I have been going there for about 4 years; cost is now 2.50 per person which includes the tractor ride to the pumpkin field, the hay maze, corn maze the animals and to walk around the green houses and ponds. There is only 1 fee of 2.50 per person so the person here saying each activity is an extra charge is incorrect. The staff is friendly and the prices are very reasonable. I asked an employee last time I was there and she said they had to start charging a small fee because gas prices were going up and the tractor rides were losing money, so in my opinion 2.50 is very reasonable. You can still buy pumpkins if you don't get a wrist band (2.50) you just can't do many activities. I rated it a 3 stars is because, the farm is great during the fall but I went there in the spring and I went to look at the animals there was manure piled up about 4 feet in their living areas. It looked that they only took care of them when they knew people were going to be looking at them (pumpkin patch). I might go back in the future but haven't decided, it might be time to look into going to a different farm and starting new traditions there. read more
