One of my favorite Chinese buffets. Would definitely recommend to anyone in the area.

We arrived an hour before closing. We walked around to see what was being served. There was still a…read moregood variety of options available so we grabbed a booth. Food was decent. The broccoli chicken was delicious and the broccoli was perfectly cooked. Everything we had for dinner was piping hot with the exception of the breaded fried zucchini (barely lukewarm but perfectly crispy). All selections we tried were delicious. The ONE middle-aged lady collecting dirty plates & filling drinks for the entire restaurant was phenomenal. I found her and handed her a nice cash tip before we left. She is definitely overworked and under appreciated. The man at the register was talking to a young male employee in another language -- across the restaurant. As in one guy was up by the front door and the other guy was at the furthest buffet table (desserts), so we got to listen to them holler back & forth at each for almost our entire meal. THAT was weird... and rude. We were exhausted and famished after 10 hours on the road, a peaceful meal would've been nice. As I said, the food was good so at least there was that. The variety of ice cream for dessert was great, but the 2 available scoops were soaking in a cloudy container of gray water. I just used an ice cream teaspoon to dig down deep & dish up. Pocahontas is a halfway point for us on many travels, this was our first time visiting China Star. Their hours are perfect for when we roll in at the end of a long day - I'd much rather have fresh stir fry than fast food. We'll be back.

Small town restaurant, very clean, food always hot. Great selection. Service was excellent as far…read moreas drinks.

My son wanted sushi for his birthday so after trying (and only being moderately impressed) with another sushi restaurant in town he decided to take a chance on Chin Chin. Being his birthday, we decided to get a variety of rolls for all of us to share and then individual meals for each of us. The sushi was 5 star level for Jonesboro...probably 4 stars if you were in a Little Rock or Memphis or other major city. The flavor of the fish was pleasant and the only knock I have is that they use a bit too much sauce on the rolls. Still, we devoured them very quickly once we received them. My General Tso chicken was some of the best I've had in a while. It was actually HOT (spicy) instead of just tangy. The temperature of the food was nice and hot as well, which I like. (I don't mind having to wait a few minutes for the food to cool so I know it's cooked all the way through.) My son ordered the chicken Udon soup noodles and wasn't entirely happy with it. Said the flavor was rather bland. He barely ate a quarter of it. (Felt horrible that it happened on his birthday. :( ) Bottom line: Chin Chin is in the upper level of sushi and Chinese food restaurants for the Jonesboro area.

Good food adequate service. Try them. Good variety too. Go for it! I like them. It's good.read more

When we arrived there was a buffet left over from lunch sitting out still. (Lunch buffet had been over for an hour). The tables weren't very clean either. They do have a neat little diner style bar you can sit at. The staff was fairly pleasant. The food itself was hit or miss. The crab rangoons are on point! They are soft, full of cheese, and they have green onions in them. The egg rolls are standard fare. I ordered beef Lo mein. It took a long time to come out and then it was really sweet. I understand dishes are open to interpretation based on the cook, but this was really sweet. My wife had sesame chicken and liked it well enough to bring the uncooked portion with her. The hot and sour soup she ordered was not as good. She didn't eat much of it at all. Which is crazy because my wife loves hot and sour soup. Overall this place would be ok for take out. I do not recommend dining in. And get crab rangoons for sure.

This is the worst "Chinese Food" I've ever had, frozen vegetables, soupy sauce, meat is questionable. Frozen broccoli....I literally had to throw it in the toilet in the hotel, it was so bad. Not vegetables in sauce. Soupy frozen vegetables. I think the locals eat here because there's not much else. Be prepared to be pay .50 cents extra, .10 cent extra here and there for everything that normally goes with the dish. It was $17 for one dish, I did not pay extra for the rice or fortune cookie. What a waste, and I love Chinese food. This is the worst food I've ever eaten and I've traveled all over the world eating at restaurants and never had something so bad. It's a pity, but honestly, don't waste your money or time, it took forever.
