I rarely leave negative reviews, but after exhausting every reasonable effort to resolve this…read morematter directly, I feel it's important to share my experience. In October 2025, I contracted with U S Cabinets Express for a kitchen cabinet project and paid an $8,126 deposit after being told the project would take approximately 4-6 weeks. Unfortunately, that timeline was never met. Over the following months, there were numerous missed appointments, repeated delays, changing explanations, and multiple promised updates that never materialized. I repeatedly requested documentation regarding the status of my order and attempted to work with David to resolve the situation. When it became clear the project was not moving forward, I requested a refund. David ultimately acknowledged in writing that the refund was owed and later proposed a written repayment plan. However, the agreed-upon repayment schedule was not honored, including the first scheduled payment. He even then reached out a little over a week after the first payment was due to state he had a payment for me but it was never delivered and a little over a week later he has not responded to any messages. I have continued to communicate in good faith and have provided multiple opportunities to resolve this matter without court involvement. As of this review, I have been without resolution for more than 8 months and have been forced to pursue legal remedies to recover my deposit, though based on a public records search of court cases I have doubts I will recover anything. I understand that unexpected circumstances can affect any business, and I have tried to be patient throughout this process. However, my experience has been that repeated commitments were not followed through, and I no longer have confidence that the matter will be resolved without court intervention. I encourage anyone considering doing business with this company to ensure that all promises, timelines, and payment protections are documented in writing and to carefully evaluate the risks before paying a substantial deposit.

Contracted for full kitchen remodel: tear out, cabinets, countertop, floor. Never got there. No Call No Show to the tear out. Did it myself. No Call No Show to the Install Date. Cabinets delivered RTA day of backup install date. They assembled on site. Never installed. No Call No Show for the backup install. Assembly was slipshot, sloppy, rushed, and unprofessional (photos included). Loose joints, no glue, cracks, missing screws, blowouts, etc. Fired that day. One cabinet completely missing, one cabinet wrong size, one face damaged, wrong hardware. It took TWO MONTHS to get the final missing cabinet... from a different maker than the rest. Did the installation myself knowing that the quality would be better. Cabinets are good quality, but not in the hands of these scammers. Do NOT waste your time. It may cost more, but go with someone who knows what they are doing, not this fly by night side show carnival.

They were able to schedule a time that fit my own schedule, since I work nights, and were the most professional of any contractor I've had at my place. Aside from their excellent work at reasonable rates, they are a personable couple who work well together and truly show that they care about you as a customer and about doing things right. I sought damages for the flooding pool house, but apparently there's a statute of limitations. The…read moreowner of the company made a motion for dismissal of my small claims court case under G.S. Statute 1-50, (a), (5) a. which states "No action to recover damages based upon or arising out of the defective or unsafe condition of an improvement to real property shall be brought more than six years from the later of the specific last act or omission of the defendant giving rise to the cause of action or substantial completion of the improvement." and the case was dismissed. So to get the case dismissed the business needed to cite a statute that is expressly covering "defective or unsafe condition of an improvement to real property." For the statute to hold water (pun intended), there would need to be a tacit admission of "defective or unsafe condition of an improvement to real property."
