Anderson Moore Kitchen & Bath - White kitchen

    Anderson Moore Kitchen & Bath

First, I will say I am disabled veteran with a HISA grant for a no threshold shower and was hoping…read moreto get a professional and reputable contractor. Erik Anderson seemed professional upon first meeting him, however he seemed as if he assumed we didn't have enough money to afford them. We purchased a 1970's built home 5 years ago that is well maintained, yet dated, and in a highly desired neighborhood. We have been wanting to upgrade our kitchen and bathrooms for a while now. We contacted AndersonMoore Kitchen & Bath and received a quick response and inspection by Erik Anderson of our 5x7 bathroom within 1 week. That is when it all went down hill. Erik Anderson first acted like our house was beneath him when he presented himself and walked in our house. He instantly started taking notes and kept questioning our ability to pay with subtle hints (this might be above your price range) for the renovation. We assured him we had no trouble paying for the renovation thinking that that would end the questioning, it did not. He took notes and kept trying to add more services onto our renovation even after the constant questioning of pay. After he left he assured us he would have a quote without 1 to 1 1/2 weeks. After 3 weeks we decided to call and never received a call back. We then received a condescending email that gave a ridiculous quote just for the shower of $15-18K. And was advised that we should call West Shore. He never quoted the job, which was a full bathroom tear down and remodel. We researched contractors and knew they were higher than most, however, we wanted to go with a higher end contractor that we hoped we could trust. Below is the snippet from his email after we called several times asking for a quote. "I have been working on the pricing for your project. If I remember correctly, the VA allows about $6300 or $8300 (can't remember which) for this type of work. We are significantly above that amount. Quick number for the zero threshold shower is about $15,000-$18,000. I would suggest looking at West Shore Homes. Their process and product is very different from ours. It is not tile. It is some type of solid surface material. But they have a system that allows them to be very efficient. I would suggest contacting them for some pricing for your project. I am sorry we can't help but hopefully West Shore can. Thank you and have a good day." The quote is not only very vague, but it also does not break down all the services we requested. This is a perfect example of someone that dresses professionally but lacks the skill and know- how to properly break down and develop a quote. We then called several times on his mobile phone and office to ask about the email. We have yet to receive a response after 2 weeks. The quote is not only almost 2 1/2 times the national average for 5x7 bathroom remodel, his amount only covers the single walk-in-shower remodel. AndersonMoore lacks professionalism and from our experience over inflates their quote or gives ridiculous quotes to those they feel cannot afford their services. We never told him what our budget was and he never asked. These types of contractors are the ones that will be crying the loudest in the next big recession. We do not recommend AndersonMoore Kitchen & Bath for any military active duty, veteran, or civilian unless you live in a very affluent neighborhood.

We highly recommend Sara Lee, owner and designer of SISU Home Designs. Our home was built in 1948,…read moreand the kitchen was in desperate need of a remodel. Sara met with us to formulate ideas, color schemes, etc., and came back with a plan. Her creative and innovative strategies included ideas we never would have considered, much less dreamed. She introduced us to contractors with whom she had established trusted and solid working relationships. They gave us responsible, reasonable quotes, and we chose the one that most aligned with our goals and working environment. We began with updating the electrical systems of the kitchen and surrounding areas. That process enabled us to catapult into the 21st Century with novel appliances and amazing lighting design. The pristine cabinets were custom made and of high quality. Sara helped us pick out and/or shop for every detail - faucets, hardware, appliances, flooring, countertops, backsplash, etc. and arranged a timely delivery and installation calendar. My husband, the major chef of the family, wanted a place to hang the pots and pans, so Sara designed a beautiful space with cherry wood paneling. She included the wood throughout the kitchen, utilizing its rich colors in a beautiful waterfall counter for lounging, our favorite spot for coffee (or cocktails). She created space that we didn't know existed. Now meal preparations are filled with music (new sound system), singing and dancing around our beautiful tile floor, and wonderful aromas from our expanded, dual-fuel stove. We love it! Our family and friends are amazed and delighted with the transformation. Sara guided us through every step of the way, with compassion and compelling intuition, ever mindful of our needs, desires, and budget. Her knowledge and skills developed over years of experience within the industry are vital to any home design project. Her magic touch beautifully metamorphosized our "this old house" into our unique and wonderful home.

Paul Davis bothered to work as diligently to collect money from the insurance as hard as they worked on making preparations to sue me, they may have been able to do what I did. I'm responsible for Paul Davis getting the money they so ineptly did not acquire a contract in writing when accepting a verbal "yes" from the manager of my insurance. claim! You're welcome Paul Davis.... And thank you for the threats, the holding hostage of my property, and the horrible communication of your intent that you would hold me responsible for your employee getting my home without proper documentation to do so. Then, holding me responsible for not getting that proper documentation and sending me notification of having to pay a bill that the insurance was supposed to have approved per all the text you sent me, which is the only reason I said OK. However, I'm still left in my predicament because my home is gutted, I'm still having to deal with the horrible insurance company. My choice of insurance companies is not anyone's fault but my own; however, I would rather have a place to live in a pot to pee in rather than me stuck homeless like I'm gonna be and I do fully blame this company for being in my situation. Thank God, I was able to stop their lawsuit since I was able to get WSOC TV channel 9's investigative reporter to help me in getting those funds for Paul Davis since their employees don't know how to get appropriate documentation prior to gutting someone's home, or at least my home! I will be getting my storage out of their control as soon as possible. Through this, I learned that they we're going to have me pay to have my storage returned to me, but didn't bother to let me know. It had already been paid for them to bring my storage to me or so it appears in the estimates I read through after educating myself extensively on this entire process. I really don't appreciate feeling as though things have not been provided to me in honesty and that is how I am left in complete understanding unfortunately!

After this, meeting with someone who keeps their word gains extra importance. The personable and professional Dean Flowers came out to give an estimate on water damage and possible mold. I was thrilled when I learned that the company would not only do the mitigation but the repairs as well. Making my life so much easier! Abraham Reyes was the project manager and was always timely, friendly and professional. His team was amazing, I really appreciated their workmanship, attention to detail, and that everything was left sparkling clean. Paul Davis worked seamlessly with our insurance company and we were so pleased with them that as mentioned above they completed a secondary job for us as well. We feel the services received were worth the money spent. As I told Abraham, I hope we won't need mitigation/repairs in future but if we do I know who we will call!
