Too many women standing around in tight gym clothes wanting to be noticed and hanging out instead of working out. More like a social club rather than a gym where you can work out. The parking lot is dismal. The parking stalls are close together and there is never parking available. The gym fees are too expensive for what's available.

Played phone tag for about two months to finally hear that a decision was made by executives not to have monthly youth rates. What a waste of mine and staff time. The Manager stated during our call "well, The Club in Mckinleyville doesn't have youth monthly rates". HS could have done something very good and decided to make it appear like they were interested in being more family friendly and then decided not to.

The quality of the instruction went down. A lot of classes were then taught by newer teachers. As someone who has taught fitness classes myself, I know the difference. I paid for reformer work, and one of them did a whole mat class. Mat work that I can do at home for free! Also it's awkward between two reformers. Once I was so frustrated that I left 5 minutes into class. After that all the sudden the owner refunded my class pack and I guess kicked me out. I was sad and confused and hurt. Sure any business can refuse anyone, but it seemed harsh and unkind. I have felt bad about this for years - like I did something wrong. BUT... But all I did is have an opinion the owner didn't want to admit or hear. She "watered down" her class quality and wasn't happy I noticed or had any negative feedback.

Some of the regulars are a little sketchy and the staff doesn't seem too concerned even though it could be a safety issue considering the location. There's a lot of transient traffic. Worst of all are the instructors. They must be the worst paid fitness staff in town and their skills and attitude reflect that. There's one lady in particular who completely runs your workout with her extremely loud, obnoxious directions. She's clearly trying to desperately hold off her own aging procees and it isn't working. Her routines are right out of the 80s aerobics craze. She's got crazy red hair, but you'll be able to figure out who she is right away. Stay clear!
