The periodontal special cleaning costs over 2000 dollars as opposed to a regular cleaning at a couple hundred. As a low income student I explained it to her that I could not afford that and I just went in for a cleaning and she insisted the disease was imperative and my teeth would rot unless I did it. she tried to set up several different sessions of my busy time. I had to pay for her to poke my gums and didn't even get my teeth cleaned, over $300 and three separate visits for nonsense! One of his front office staff needs to check her behavior at the door to be more kind and patient. The other staff and assistants were all excellent. The reason I know Dr. Martey is excellent, is that I have gone to bad oral surgeons in the past that infected people and where pulling a tooth took weeks to heal instead of days. Santa Rosa was always good, and an Oral Surgeon in Redding is excellent, but Rog or Bog that were here years ago in Eureka were both rude, abusive, and corrupt. Thank goodness past Oral Surgeon is dead or at least gone from Humboldt County. The horrible surgeon was Rog or Bog. One was a horrible Dermatology Surgeon who mis diagnosed me and would have killed me had not Dr. Russel Pardoe saved the day. The other was a horrible Dental Surgeon. One died and the other left town, thank goodness. Hopefully, I will not need dental surgery again for a long time. However, if I do in the future I will go to Dr. Martey here locally. My teeth brake when pulled by a regular dentist, and then they need to send me to an Oral Surgeon to put me to sleep and dig the tooth fragments out. This is why I need an excellent Oral Surgeon to avoid having my roots exposed while waiting for an appointment with a proper oral surgeon to dig the tooth fragments out while asleep. My suggestion is to get Dental Insurance or have an account to save money monthly in order to have enough for to pay cash for dental emergencies not covered by Medicare.

I didn't even feel the novocaine sticks from the needle. That was new for me! I was thrilled! He's got an extremely gentle hand and I will continue to see him for anything I need done! My results were fantastic, I highly recommend him. Update: just had another visit because I broke a tooth a couple weeks ago. Another pain free wonderful experience.
