I thought that I was less crazy about being a hockey fan than in the past. Nope. I still put the fan in fanatic. I booked flights getting me to the Twin Cities on Sunday. I needed an antigen test on the weekend. My local testing place does not conduct antigen tests on weekends. Using the same SRx network, I found one in a plaza in Etobicoke, where I frequent Wok of Asia the most. I booked an appointment for Saturday at 3:30 pm, within 24 hours of my departure time. There's plenty of parking at this plaza. I parked steps away from the pharmacy. Oddly, the test is conducted at SHC (Specialty Health Clinic), two doors down from SRx Health Solutions, separated by a walk-in clinic. I walked in and was greeted by Kirsten, who ultimately conducted my antigen test. She was personable and nice. I had to fill out a form before we did the test. All went well. We went into one of the medical rooms. She advised how she was going to do conduct the test with the swab that she had in her hand. It was seamless and painless. I pulled down my mask. She swabbed each nostril for about ten seconds each. Done. I waited for ten minutes while she got my test result. A man walked in and thought that I worked at this clinic. I had to let him know that I was a patient and Kristen would come help him soon. I sat down. He actually wanted the walk-in clinic next door. I can see the confusion having three businesses that are health-related and connected in some way. My test result was ready. She let me look at the report to make sure everything was okay. My middle names were missing and I wanted to make sure that it matched my passport. She was great making the change. I appreciated it, despite her killing a twig off a tree with the first one. The antigen test at this location is cheaper than at my usual place. I paid $34 dollars, a whopping $5 cheaper. This place only accepts credit cards. It has my debit card (it's a Visa debit card, too) on file, so I paid without whipping out my card. Done! I thanked her, and left with my negative test result and my receipt. She sent me a PDF version of my report to my inbox, too. If you do need an antigen test quickly for travel, on the weekend, and at a decent price, come here. It also helps that you get a friendly, competent tester. (135)

The store clerks are very cordial and the postal staff are terrific. Apparently, they'll be relocating to the space vacated by Food Basics. I'm looking forward to the expansion. My rating is 3.5 stars…read more After work last Thursday, I wanted to pick up some hand cream for my mom. She had cracked skin on one of her hands for at least a week. The hand cream that she was using wasn't healing a thing. I found one brand that seemed promising while doing some research online. The site said that it was available at this particular Shoppers Drug Mart. The store was conveniently on my way home from work. Then again, I cut across most of the GTA, so I pass by a ton of stores! This store is in a plaza. There seemed to be a Food Basics or some green-painted grocery store that has closed down. Shoppers Drug Mart is in the corner further down. The parking area can be a bit chaotic. It's an older plaza and the lanes are more narrow than what I'm used to in suburbia. This store has been here for a while. It has everything that you'd expect it to have, including a grocery aisle. I walked every aisle and could not find the hand cream that I was looking for, which was disappointing. However, there was a Gold Bond one that was on sale. It has been approved by the Canadian Diabetes Society. It has proven results. It was also on sale. I bought it! I dropped the cream off at my parents' place. My mom said that she would try the hand cream out immediately. This morning, I spoke to my mom. She said that three hours later, she noticed a huge difference. She no longer has cracked hands. Nice! She asked me whether she could pay me back. Hearing her say that this product works is all that I wanted. The lone cashier at this store was friendly and made sure that each customer was okay. She helped out a senior ahead of me. I liked the care that she showed and the help that she gave. I'd come back here again when I'm in the area. (157)

I did a quick search and found this Shoppers Drug Mart (SDM) at The Albion Centre. I have bought corn flakes from a SDM locally and thought I'd try this one. I drove over here. I like when a drugstore is connected to a mall and has a separate entrance. I like not having to enter the mall and buy more stuff than I need. There was plenty of parking at around 3:30 pm. I parked and walked in. This SDM is on the older side. It was fine. It wasn't falling apart. It just looked older than most. What was sad was that this SDM does not have a cereal section. The tragedy! I was sad. I did manage to get some vitamins. All was not lost. There was a lineup to get checked out by a human. I decided to try the self-checkout. It was smooth and felt anti-social! I'd come back here for vitamins. For my cereal fix, I have learned that I won't get it here and will end up feeling disappointed. (371)
