I'm sad to say that since Dr. Hall retired and sold this practice at the beginning of 2022, this office has gone completely downhill. At my 1st visit with Humanity Dental, they pushed doing x-rays even though I had some 6 months earlier. I declined but they ended up billing my insurance for x-rays anyway. It took months to sort it all out. I'd like to think this was an error but the same thing happened to my husband who visited on a completely different day. He declined the x-rays but they still charged the insurance. Additionally, when comparing our bill side by side with a bill from Dr. Hall, Humanity Dental has increased their cost for everything. Periodic Dental Evaluation (code D0120) under Dr. Hall was $50; Humanity billed $131. Cleaning (D1110) with Dr. Hall was $99; Humanity charges $128. It's a racket. Mind you, the cleaning was done by the exact same dental hygienist and these prices were 6 months apart. I have never missed a dental appointment in my life and I'm now looking for a new office. I live in Irvine so coming to HB was only worth it for an exceptional dentist - sadly there isn't one here anymore. read more

All good reviews are for the former owner Dr Hall. I was referred to him by a long time patient and he was great. The business was run well, staff was great, never any issues I gave the new management a shot because I figured Dr Hall was so great I'm sure he was particular about who he sold the practice to. Businesses in this area have customers who have been coming for decades I had one cleaning under the new owners, they tried to bill my insurance and me for services never preformed In the last two months they've canceled my next cleaning and a dental work appointment on the day of the appointment via text message. I've left voicemails and no return calls back. Super unprofessional I don't know what's going on or if they're even open anymore but it's a real shame especially given the history with the community read more

This dental office is completely unprofessional. The reviews here are misleading. Most of the reviews are for the former dentist Dr. Hall, who has retired and sold his practice to this company. They have not shown up 2 of my appointments already. Being the first appointment of the day, I ensure I'm always early to make sure I don't back up their schedule first thing in the morning, however, they decide to not show up to work and the office is closed, no one answers the phone, no rollover service. What is this place? My first appointment with them was at the end of March 2022. I used to come and see the former dentist, which is why I came in the first place. That first visit was also missed by them not showing up for my appointment. A few days later I came back in, the girl at the front desk was super sweet and completely apologetic, however that's where the positive experience stops. The dentist, Dr. Tang (I believe) shows up, completely lacks interpersonal skills, proceeds to tell me all this unnecessary work that I need without even looking or referencing the past dental history for the past 10 years, which, he has loaded into the computer that is sitting in front of him. I explained to him that I felt that work was unnecessary and that I would reevaluate his suggestions at my next appointment which would be in 3 months, because I come quarterly. A few minutes later a gentleman by the name of John shows up to talk to me and wants to understand why I don't want to move forward with what the doctor is suggesting. Mind you this fellow named John is not a dentist is not a doctor and in my opinion is completely unprofessionally dressed to be asking questions of a patient in a doctor's office. I literally felt like I was at a used car dealership being sold add-on options that are already installed on the car. I restated what I had told the doctor previously, that I felt it was unnecessary at this time and I would reevaluate it at my next appointment in 3 months. As of today sitting in front of their office writing this review. I have honored my commitment of coming back 3 months later to reevaluate, however, this office is still closed. My appointment was at 9:00 a.m. it is now 9:36 and I have yet to receive a phone call back regarding this morning's appointment. I almost forgot to say, I have received multiple text messages reminding me and confirming my appointment for this morning. So instead of me writing a review for the first time and that horrific experience, I gave them a second opportunity to see if things would get better. I obviously now have my answer. Unfortunately, not everybody here is to blame for the lack of poor operational management. The front office desk staff are quite friendly and try very hard to do their job properly, however, this is more of a management problem and ownership problem. It's probably a problem that will not resolve itself and will not go away without the management and ownership going away. I wish all the patients of former Dr Hall much success in finding a new dentist and I highly suggest any new patient looking for dental work, do your research and look somewhere else, because this place is just plain awful. read more

This is a new dentist that took over my past dentist's office. This new dentist has disappeared! My family saw them one time, paid them $500 for a night guard and now they are gone. They don't answer the phone and nobody is physically in the office. I am out $500 and still don't have the night guard I paid for. They don't even deserve the one star. So disappointed. read more

Not a fan of corporate dentistry... ugh. My long time (25+ years) dentist retired and the practice was purchased by Humanity Dental. I just wanted my records so I could find a single practice dentist. That took forever and I FINALLY got one set of x-rays (no date mind you) emailed to me but not my complete file. My second request for my entire file is currently being ignored. The amount of upselling I overheard while I was waiting (too long) to sign a form to get my records (that I do not have) made me feel like I was at a used car dealership... ewww. read more

Best dentist I've ever been to. My HMO plan assigned me to a dentist that felt super shady to me so I came to my parents dentist, Dr. Hall and him and his whole staff were so kind, took their time, and made sure I got great care. They even called to check on me after to make sure I was okay. I am HAPPY to pay out of pocket because I know I am in great care and I trust them. I have been a patient with Dr Hall since the 1990's. I still have all my teeth which is a good sign. The woman who cleans teeth is also very calming and gentle. Dr Hall seems to have a philosophy that the original tenets should be preserved as much as possible. He clearly is not out to milk his Paige tabby over treating him. I trust his opinions and recommendations 100% of the time as being for my benefit and not his. I hope your experience with this dentist is as good as mine has been. read more

This review stays on until someone is able to resolve my issue at this office. I've been to this office twice. The first time was because of the great review on yelp. Went in to check it out because I've had a bad experience at another place. Asked to have my tooth pulled but had to make an appt for two weeks later. They took copies of my insurance and 2 X-rays and told me to come back in two weeks to get it pulled. Luckily it wasn't hurting as bad at that time so I was fine with it. No one mentioned to me about fees or charges that day or that I was out of network so I was expecting not to pay anything. Well guess what? They billed me a month later with $155 fee for the so called "emergency" visit and claims my insurance doesn't cover it. That was the only way they could get my money I assume. This bill was sent to me after I got my tooth pulled a month later. A copay of what was told to me on my day of extraction after the fact of $95 but got a bill of $190 plus $155 more for the initial visit that they claimed was emergency. Dr hall, if u claim it was emergency then why did I wait for your service 2 weeks later? I could've gone anywhere else if it was an emergency since you're so booked. You and your office scammed me the first time by sending me to the back and took X-rays without discussing any finances to me. U and your staff pretended to take care of me when all you folks did was scammed me with a smile. Your staff tried to upsell me to get a root canal instead of an extraction but since you couldn't get me for more money this was perhaps your second option? This is not about the money sir, this is aboUt principal. I was going to keep coming back for more services and so was my wife but you've done me wrong. What a disgusting and unethical place of business. I will be contacting the dental board and the BBB if someone doesn't call me to resolve my surprised bill. I have already spoke with your office manager regarding my concern and never heard back from you or her. I was looking for a good local dentist nearby who could help me with a broken tooth. I had cracked my tooth while eating and was hoping that the tooth might be saved. Fortunately, I found the best dentist I could find when I discovered Dr. Hall. I was so impressed in how he treated me. He never rushed, listened closely to everything I was telling him, and made me feel so comfortable. You can tell that he cares deeply about his patients and puts them first over everything else. He did such a great job on the fixing my tooth with a crown, that I am going to choose him for all my other dental needs. Great dentist! He is very concerned on your needs, not just your insurance requirements. I enjoy that he always gives options whenever major work needs to be done. I have been using him over 15 years and have referred many family and friends to him. Dr. Hall is the kind of dentist you will recommend to your friends and family. For 30 years, I previously had unsatisfying relationships with local general dentists in the north Orange County area. I was discouraged that so many of them charged so much and rendered mediocre care. An acquaintance introduced me to Dr. Hall and I have been thoroughly satisfied. While I drive quite a distance to his office, it is a pleasure to do so because of the great care I receive. He is conservative in his treatment plans, direct with you about what you might need in the future and bills at fair and reasonable rates. His referrals to specialists have been solid and are ones to whom he would refer his own family members. Dr HALL***** is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!! Ive been a patient for over 25 years-he is extremely competent, personable, and possesses a great sense of humor. I trust him completely. For example, I was in excruciating pain with an abscess and after medicating myself which didn't work iI called him on his cell phone at 3:30 am. He was outta town and it was early Sunday morning he came back immediately and fixed my tooth..Little did I know it was his bday and I probably spoiled the day. he was compassionate , kind and he fixed my tooth pain free.i had sent a myriad of patients to him. Dr. Hall is an excellent Dentist. He is very honest and never recommends unnecessary dental work like a previous Dentist. He's a nice guy and is very detailed and technical with his work. I've had a couple of root canals done and Dr. Hall did a much better job than the previous dentist with less to no pain. I highly recommend Dr. Hall. read more
