We asked lots of questions because of all the excitement. Alex was willing to assist until we asked too many questions about the merchandise. Seems like we were bothering her as she was trying to multitask with some paperwork. I happened to check. In on Yelp and there was a 15% off coupon. There was no special writing at the bottom of the Yelp Coupon. Alex told us that the 15% was on the lowest merchandise price and it wasn't for the total sale. I mention to Alex there was nothing listed showing with the terms and conditions of the coupon. She then started having a little bit of an attitude and apparently it's 15% for one item of the lowest price. So just make sure that when you're visiting the Kauai Harley, make sure you check in and make sure you know the rules.

The owner Randy customized the trip and took us all over the island seeing things we definitely would have missed just renting motorcycles on our own. We visited Sahara-like red desert sands, the lush greenery of the jungle to the refreshing smell of the pine trees. Each of the different view points were breathtaking. The great thing about booking with Randy is he loves riding as much as we do. So, we never felt we were being rushed to get to one spot or the next. He stopped whenever we wanted. We enjoyed a great lunch as well. The Harley's are well cared for, making the ride comfortable and smooth. It was an amazing day. Well worth the cost and time. We will be sharing with friends and family who ride to make sure they book with him. Lastly, I only write reviews on companies if they are really awful or really fantastic. In this case it was fantastic.

Wiper blades were old and left big streaks when it rained. Wiper fluid was out, so my visibility was poor and I didn't feel comfortable driving it at night, the headlights were really dim. Driving around on an island where it rains often, I really think having functional wiper blades is a low bar to clear. The sliding doors were really difficult to open, very sticky and our kids struggled to open them themselves. The locking mechanisms were weird and no buttons on the key fob worked. Giving a star for the customer service and shuttle service which was friendly and fast.

I had arranged a manual trans, pick-up truck first, but the driveway at the house I rented was super steep and even with 30+years experience, I figured it was gonna make for a long 8wks. The folks at Kauai Rent A Car were able to exchange it for another car in the middle of my trip. I'll definitely be calling them to arrange a car for this summer.

I definitely procrastinated on renting one because I know it's expensive. My parents and they referred me to Lucky Owl because they heard my niece use them when she comes to town. So I went online and their prices were reasonable and they offer a kamaʻāina discount! I booked online and called them to confirm all the details. They really helped me out in my time of need. All of their employees as super nice, helpful, and friendly! They all seem really happy working for this company and that is a joy to see. Justin was the employee I spoke with and he was super nice. They are located in Mapunapuna near Fisher Hawai'i. Don't blink or you'll miss the turn into their driveway! There are lots of vehicles to rent, so if you're ever in need of a rental--- visit them! Oh AND They also have a Lucky Owl Lock and Key as well as Auto Sales in case you're interested. Mahalo Lucky Owl!

We had a mishap with the key fob not working while we were at the beach on the east side of the…read moreisland. When we realized it wasn't working, we immediately opened up the fob and found old looking corrosion inside around the battery area. We put a new battery in it and left it open to dry out (if moisture had gotten in it). After troubleshooting to no avail, I called the company and they sent someone out charging a $75 "roadside assistance fee" where a representative brought out a spare key fob. Unfortunately, the replacement fob did not start the car (or even unlock/lock the car). The representative was friendly, but not knowledgeable on other troubleshooting steps to get us back on the road. With the replacement fob taken apart (to swap/replace the battery) the original fob eventually started the car. We even tested it further by turning off and on the car a few times to make sure the old fob was working again. We then drove the vehicle to our next destination, and when we went to leave the car wouldn't start again... we made the most of it and had dinner while further drying out the original fob to see if that would help. In the meantime the company sent a replacement vehicle (at no additional charge). When the rep went to start the original car, it stated right away. The following day, I received a voicemail to go over the additional replacement fob and roadside assistance charges. The voicemail said to reference the email and/or call back for questions. I never received the email after 10 minutes of checking, and then I got a large credit card notification; $350 for the damaged key and $75 for the roadside assistance. I didn't appreciate being charged without being talked to first. When I immediately called back to politely ask some clarifying questions, the person on the phone was very rude and raised his voice to me and my wife. Given that the original fob appeared to have prior water damage and the fact that it did start the car (after drying out, replacing the battery) it was disappointing to be charged $425 for something that may, or may not, have been our fault. And to then be yelled at for asking questions. At the end of the day, the whole ordeal cost us valuable vacation time, added stress, and drastically altered our plans. The car rental itself was affordable but the first car we ended up with was older and a little dingy.
