Unfortunately, after our experience communicating with the owner, we decided to make other transportation arrangements. We wanted to support local, but professionalism ultimately mattered more. The advertised price wasn't worth the experience. Before we had even signed a rental agreement, communication became increasingly combative. We were asked to provide additional insurance documentation, which we worked to obtain. While verifying insurance is a perfectly reasonable requirement, the tone of the communication quickly became hostile and condescending. At one point, while we were still trying to provide the requested documents, we were told, "This doesn't have to be difficult." When we ultimately decided to cancel before the rental began, the communication became even more unprofessional. Rather than simply processing the cancellation, the owner sent a lengthy email accusing us of being "impatient," lecturing us about how many hours she works, how much money she was giving up by honoring our reservation, and comparing us to her other customers. None of those comments were relevant to our reservation, and they were completely inappropriate to direct at a customer. I understand that running a small business is stressful, but customers shouldn't be guilt-tripped or personally criticized for asking reasonable questions or deciding not to move forward with a rental. We left the interaction feeling uncomfortable and relieved that we chose another rental company. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend this business.
