The staff talk bad about the students to each other, and are super biased (some of them are racist, sexist, and treat you worse if you're not popular). The work isn't even good either, it's all notes and remembering stuff, not actually learning. Ive also noticed that the school is so money hungry, theyre always trying to get funds or donations. Also the fence of the pearl building was broken for a whole year without fixing. (Still might be) and the school is right next to a mental hospital and highway so anyone could've just gotten in the school. Unfortunately this program is lacking. They tell you that they run this program like any other school in the WCSD. This is false! What normal school is cancelling school stating we don't have an instructor for the day. Would you not get a substitute instructor? My child was in their infant room. Classroom hours Monday to Thursday 8-4:30pm, Friday 8-12:30pm. Before my child was able to start the two "instructors" had to come do a home visit for me to sign forms. Since when do daycares do home visits? My child started the week of Thanksgiving 2025. I am a single parent in nursing school, not originally from Nevada so getting my child into the program felt like a lifesaver. I thought that I would have consistent care for my child Monday to Thursday. Well, that did not happen shortly after starting in November 2025 the classroom would send out a text messages 30-60 minutes prior to the 8am start time stating that the classroom was closed for the day. From 12/2025 to 5/2026 they have closed the classroom at least 17 times! When the first multiple day classroom closures happened I called and spoke to the manager, Amber. She stated that it was very uncommon for the classroom to be closed. Due to these last minute classroom closures I was left scrambling to find child care in order to make it to my school sessions. Another issue, was a day I had pre-planned to have a friend pick up my child due to my school schedule. I informed the daycare who would be picking up my child, I was told that this person could not do the pick up because I had not previously added them to the list and they (daycare) did not have a copy of their ID. At which time I told them, they didn't have a copy of my ID or another pick up persons ID, funny to be implementing a rule now but not at the beginning of us starting with you. Lastly, from the beginning I let them know my child was on a delayed vaccine schedule. When the daycare asked I would show proof of upcoming appointments/vaccine records. Most recently, week of 5/11/2026, I was told while trying to drop off for the day that they were sure if they could keep my child and that they needed to reach out to their health department. After a few phone calls that weren't answered I advised that I would take my child with me because I had to get to school myself and couldn't wait for them to get a call back. While I was there, I did remind the "instructor" that I had sent a copy of the updated vaccine record as well as a letter from the medical provider of the delayed schedule. If there was an issue with this they should have said something on 5/11/26.

As a school that allows every student to have that true stereotypical High School experience you walk through the doors to see it just as such. You have a full school full of individuals of every background, every clique, fully staffed with some of the dedicated teachers, counselors and disciplinarians I've ever met. Every year I had a teacher who stood out to me more than others, some for good reasons and others not. My freshman year took the cake for me. I had some amazing teachers. had a very sweet biology teacher her who took more time than I have ever seen get to know students and still to this day, I don't know a single person who has something bad to say. My algebra teacher was just the same and is the reason I don't entirely hate math. Both teachers throughly took the time to teach each student what they were suppose to learn in ways each person could understand. Each year I had a couple teachers who will forever have a special place on my heart and owe so many thanks to for being a part in helping me achieve my success. It feels like a really long time ago that I went to north valleys but it would still be a place I consider for my children when thinking of what school to put them in, when they get older. As far as I've seen and heard, it's still the same high school I grew to know and love.

This is because she can't handle the idea of being wrong, and is willing to lie and try to get people in trouble as long as it makes it so she can dilute herself into thinking she was never wrong

There's something nice about visiting old buildings, but add a little Reno pride to it and it only gets better. I was in the main gymnasium for most of the day, volunteering as a mock interviewer for juniors who were practicing their interview skills. The students here are diverse, in terms of their socioeconomic background, but all are respectful and exert a very nice level of maturity that is representative of a good school. Overall, it's a nice place and a school I wouldn't be ashamed of sending my kids to, making it worthy if five stars.

He came in struggling with different subjects and just got pushed aside. He asked for help and the teachers make him feel less than. I believe it was his math teacher who implied that he was "retarded". Moving through the school year he has displayed behavior problems as well. Who wouldn't, the adults he trust to guide him make him feel worthless so who wouldn't act out. I have dealt with mr Chubb calling me telling me that my child was outside being a nuisance when my kid was actually home in bed for the day. I know that kids will be kids and tell there side but a few things have made me believe that these teachers are indeed corrupt and show severe favoritism to certain groups. My recent experience is one of the students stole my sons backpack containing $400 and his iPhone X. My son tried defending his property and not only doesn't have his property back but he now as a black eye as well. I've left 3 messages for mr Chubb to call me back and he has yet to respond. This school is a joke and since attending this school they have managed to dim the light my son once shined. His self esteem and confidence has gone down the drain. TMCC HS is such an amazing opportunity for local high schoolers in the Washoe County school…read moredistrict. 10th-12th grade students have an opportunity to earn college credits and even associates degrees as they work on their high school education and diplomas. The staff is amazing and the resources they offer the students seems endless. They provide tons of correspondence with parents so you don't feel out of the loop, while also encouraging students to be independent. There are many positives, and only a few negatives. You have to be willing and able to get your kids to and from school if they don't drive. No school buses going up there! Also, although you don't pay for the tuition, you still have to cover the cost of text books and course codes. However, there are scholarships and other assistance that is available. All in all, great program!
