Editing this because i just noticed it. I do not live in California. I live in IL…read more Whatever you do. DO NOT i repeat DO NOT go through Fairview Appliance Heating and Cooling. Im not just a robot leaving a bad response for a different company. Reason for using Fairview HVAC: My AirConditioning Condenser's (outside unit) fan blade and mounting hardware rusted out and fell through just causing a ton of damage on its way down. In doing so it rendered my Condenser inoperable. For my sake im going to call Fairview HVAC (FHVAC) I was given this company by my Warrant company Cinch. I initially called FHVAC 1 hour before closing and got the answering machine multiple times. I then get a call back AFTER closing and was told they got the work order and will come out the next day 8-10AM ... All is good to this point. The man comes out, respectful, knowledgable and straight to the point. I ask him what his thoughts are. He says "I definitely think it's going to need to be replaced, but its up to the warranty company, It will be just a one for one swap no mods needed". I said awesome, what about work wise what all is going to need to be done, how long does it usually take, when could yall come out and continue the process. Typical client questions... BEFORE i could even finish my sentence he interrupts me and says, " I work one step at a time, first the warranty company has to say what they want". So i figured he didnt mean to interrupt so I asked some more of the questions that were relevant to the work order... He then REPEATED himself like i was telling my 5 year old to stop interrupting!!!!! So i let it go. I called Cinch later that afternoon and they said they got the response from FHVAC and they were going to send it to the another department for further processing. I called HFAC the next day and asked what was going on. The receptionist now has an attitude and says "we will replace it but there is going to be $420 in uncovered charges... I dont know what they are so youll have to take that up with your warranty company!!!" I'm at this point mind blown! I obviously call Cinch and asked about the uncovered charges and they explained it. FHVAC was going to charge me the following items. Reclaim of refrigerant $100.00 Pipe Modifications $85.00 Equipment Disposal $100.00 Code Required Replacement $65.00 Reclaim and Code Require are required by law and cannot be avoided. Pipe Mods?? Equipment Disposal?? I spoke with cinch and they said that is included in your warranty and should not be charged that... At this point I have already gotten my opinions of FHVAC and they weren't good. I decide to give them a chance and I call other HVAC companies around me and ask about these charges. EVERY SINGLE ONE..... I repeat EVERY SINGLE ONE. Said those charges should be included in your installation fee and covered by Warranty without you being charged to include Reclaim and code req. FHVAC is separating them to get money from you...... I call FHVAC and say he whats with these charges, i asked Cinch and they said the charges are from you not them... Again with the interrupting... Before i finish the receptionist says. "Im going to stop you right there, this is your quote, these are our prices, and it is required before we start the job. If you don't like that, you can call your warranty company and take it up with them".... I was blown away. Needless to say i canceled with them and will buy out if i have to. NO MATTER WHAT (unless you want to be screwed) do not..... Go... with Fairview Appliance Heating and Cooling.
