I assumed that this salon would have vetted their hair stylists well to know what kind of quality they're letting in to cut clients' hair. Which is why I called them on a whim and got an appointment right away that next day. The stylist (I will not name her because she already gave me a full refund) was very sweet and we had great conversations. The cut ended up being mostly what I wanted but my curtain bangs were not even. I went to a gathering the next day and couldn't take it- so I texted her saying I need to get it fixed. She let me come in. Then the nightmare starts. I told her exactly what I wanted to be fixed. Just even out the left bang with the right. She starts going at my hair and grabs so much more than the curtain bang area...basically taking the full top part of my hair throughout the hairline and cutting it in such an odd angle. I have never seen it in my life and I get cuts regularly for layers. At the end she started curling and I told her I didn't want her to curl it because I wanted to see the hairstyle without it done. She said she would just do the ends, but she proceeded to do the whole head and I'm just appalled at this point. I went out with a curled head of hair and showed disappointment in my reactions but she said that as long as I style it it'll look good. I went in wanting a low maintenance haircut and now I have to curl it all the time?! I flew back to where I lived and couldn't take it anymore. My hair looked horrible. I asked for my money back and she gave the refund. Just a warning everyone- please please do your research and know that although you'd expect this salon to have good stylists, they don't. --LOCATION-- in the large plaza nearest to the Sprouts. --PARKING-- parking lot; should be no problems, but it is a busy plaza. --EXPERIENCE-- came in with an appointment at 9 AM for a haircut on a Saturday. It was already pretty busy with clients at some stations. Who I believe to be the owner/manager, soon arrived at the front desk to check me in and grab my hair stylist. I waited at the front for a short moment. My stylist, whose name I'm so sad to have forgotten (this is what happens when you wait to write a review, oops), was super sweet and had me start at the station for a brief consultation to go over what I was looking to get done. She then sat me at the hair washing station where I got shampooed and hair conditioned. She even massaged my had a bit. The water temperature was nice and she made sure that I liked it at the setting it was at. I felt the haircut process was great. She was attentive and careful. She noticed exactly what I was frustrated with (previous haircut was not well-done), and worked with it to give me the results I was looking for. She even pointed out my scalp health and gave me solid recommendation to treat it. The last bit was a blowout where she got my hair dried and curled. I really appreciated her attention and quality work. I felt super happy at the end of it all. My fiance had walked in to meet me towards the tail-end of my haircut. He sat patiently at the front. The owner was very nice and offered him a cup of coffee (I later drank half his cup lol). --PRICING-- this is a quality place that I think is well priced. I am not surprised some of her clients travel from out of state to see her. Of all the Beverly Hills to Manhattan salons I have been to, Jessica is the best. I have Asian hair and many of the salons I have been to have always thinned out my hair because Asians are known for thick and coarse hair. I hated when my thinned out hair would grow back and nothing was even and my hair just became a mess of all sorts. I was nervous at first because I was so used to having my hair thinned out but with Jessica's meticulously crafted skills, she made me realize I did not need to waste valuable hair. She cuts with such precision and focus, the end results are nothing short of amazing. Another thing about Asian hair is getting the hair color right. Having sunkissed on Asian hair is not an easy task and we always end up getting orange which is far from the picture you show the stylist. This isn't the case with Jessica. I showed Jessica a photo of the color I wanted and she studied it for 30 seconds and said ok! The end results far exceeded even the photo I showed her and now my hair belongs in a magazine. Drove all the way from Lake Forest and it was worth it. The decor is chic & modern. They have the cutest coffee bar with mugs that have their logo. I needed my hair toned and trimmed. They delivered exactly what I asked for- ashy but not too gray. It only took an hour. I also got treatment for me ends with the most relaxing head massage. The sink chairs are actually soft and comfy. I ended up not being charged as much as I was quoted on the phone since I decided not to have my roots touched for now.
