I manage a couple apartment communities in Anderson and we work closely with Hue & Cry. Kyle comes and does our inspections, he's nice, professional, and very informative. The only reason I put 4 stars is because no matter how many times we update our call log for our pull cord system they keep calling the same order of people making it difficult for us to do what we need to do on our end. Definitely a poor company to work for. Upon getting hired i was issued a company vehicle in which i had to clean out myself prior to the previous owner. It was littered with old food , finger nail clippings and trash. Took me two hours to completely clean. After that new hires after me recieved cleaned and detailed vehicles. One of the upper managements daughter received a brand new truck off the lot. She even sped in the vehicle at a 93.7 mph but recieved no discipline because patrick culmer said her "smile" is too cute. I would double check all inspections because the inspectors will skip certain things.. Especially if they cant find the device. The person who trained me left because they wanted him to train somebody less qualified for a dollar more than what he was getting. Alot of accounts dont get fully checked. Also upper managment would complaim of wasted time and misuse of company vehicles. If you check their facebook page you will see uppermanagent using company vehicles to go hunting. And office ladies were allowed to go to the gym and shop during work hours. I would be careful asking this company for inspections. As they are very misleading and deceptive. First time going to the office in sacramento a lady in the office was getting her nails done. I called brandon boyd for an issue at a job with the customer next to me he told me he has to go becauae he was ordering food and never called me back. Brandon boyd was my manager but would call new hires for questions... How does a manager not know if running the pumps at a facility will set off the alarms or not? And to ask someone who has been at the company less than you. read more

We are moving to Redding. The staff who came to set-up our land line was fantastic. He was so patient and helpful; he was great. We didn't have a land line even though Charter told us we did. The office staff should have explained all options to us though. The office staff should have told us we could have used a cell box for the system. We were only re-activating a service that had existed. More importantly, we only needed something for the security. We weren't ready for phone/internet/tv. The office staff told us we needed a land line. The security company person came and said that we didn't have a land line, Charter had given us cable! Then, he told us that we could have used a cellular box that would have given us security system activiation without any cable or other cost. Why hadn't the office told us this option? read more

Disorganized, unreliable, always short staffed. The left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. I will not even begin to list the ways this company has disappointed us, but I am still shocked at the level of disregard even after involving the VP of the company. We needed to have our alarm system repaired following the installation of new flooring. A technician came to our home but said he was unable to make the repairs and that Hue & Cry would contact us with an estimate. After ten days of hearing absolutely NOTHING! we sent an email and some time later we received an estimate. Methinks they were under the impression we wanted to purchase a share of the company as the figure given (with no breakdown) was ridiculous. I have no doubt that had we not contacted them, they would just have ignored us. Needless to say, we ended our long-standing relationship with Hue & Cry and most certainly would NOT recommend them to anyone. How they are still in business baffles me! read more

Never, in our company's 35 years in business have we ever dealt with a company that is more disorganized or less capable than Hue and Cry, Inc. After sending us literally dozens of confusing, conflicting quotes we finally agreed to have a tech come and install a security system. The setup was so unbelievably subpar (not to mention NOTHING even close to what we had discussed) that we called immediately to have it removed from our premises. In the mean time the company agreed to cover us for $3/day so our buildings would not be without protection because of their company's incompetence. It was THEN that we started receiving repeated phone calls from the central office demanding payment. For what? We had not received any services yet. We agreed to pay upon invoice and they informed us that they "could not generate an invoice." Two days later we decided to terminate the service completely, preferring to leave our multiple buildings without protection rather than dealing with their company any further. But the drama continued. We sent, in writing, a contract termination, which was received by their office on January 11, 2013. We did not receive an invoice until March 9, 2013. That invoice was for $210 (Even though we only had service for three days at a rate of $3/day). The invoice included late fees, which we had apparently accrued ... while we were waiting for an invoice. That was when we started calling. We called and left messages on March 16, March 17, March 19, April 11 and April 17, when we finally received a call back from a woman who said she would call back in 30 minutes to figure it out. In the mean time, we received an IRATE phone call from another representative, who angrily informed us that "billing is not her department" and "she has absolutely no control over billing issues." She seemed angry with everyone in her company for not getting back to us and simultaneously angry at us for having the audacity to call her with concerns over our bill ( her answering machine message indicated she was in charge of these matters). The final outcome was a bill for $6. Even though it made no sense, we paid it immediately hoping it would be over and done with. A week later, we received another bill for $6, which did not make any sense and resulted in yet another phone call to the horribly disorganized office. We have yet to receive a call back. The moral of this story: DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE UNLESS YOU HAVE AN INCREDIBLE AMOUNT OF SPARE TIME AND DON'T MIND PAYING HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS IN WAGES FOR YOUR EMPLOYEES TO DEAL WITH THEIR LACK OF ORGANIZATION AND PROFESSIONALISM. read more

Thought we might want to use this security company after meeting owner M. socially. Maybe if he spent more time managing his business instead of playing with his toys, this business might be worth a lick. Every person we worked with from phone staff to technicians were miserable and frustrated people. Installation was a struggle. Technicians blamed equipment problems on the people who answered the phones (??) Tried to talk about it with owner's family members and all they could do was gripe about the people under them. Like trying to work with a meat grinder. Miserable owners, miserable and unhappy employees and staff, miserable and unhappy customers. The security of my family isn't worth putting in the hands of these people. Taking my business elsewhere. read more

We had the same problem as others. Extremely disorganized company. No one seems to communicate with each other. The office person says they're sending out a tech he doesn't come- we call her - she doesn't know where he is? Waited all day TWICE! When he came( the first time) he didn't know what he was supposed to install and after he left we found 3 things that we had requested and contracted for that hadn't been done! Now it's been close to impossible to get him back to do these things and no one seems to know what the other has told us! Very frustrating! I had this service for 1 full year. I called other places that offer equip and install for 99.00 and put you in a 3 year contract. I went with H&C and paid in cash for my equipment and install which was over 400.00 and was put in a 3 year contract. They seemed so nice. Before I agreed to the install I asked about moving since I am a renter? I was told, no problem. We will move you at no cost, yet re-start your contract each time you move. I felt that was okay and paid them. A year later I had to move. I called almost 3 weeks ahead of my departure date. Julie told me something completely different this time. Now it would run me over 100.00 per hour to have my equip taken out and re-installed which she said would take at least 4 hours. What happened to doing it at no cost and recontracting me? I did pay for my equipment, so it's not like they were at a loss of any kind. I was told to talk to Kelsie next, so I called. I got no reply and was told it's best to email, so I did. I told her this new moving policy isn't matching what I was told and I never would have chose them with this new policy. She said she would get back to me, but never did. Time is running out, I need to be out by 5/18 which they knew! I said it numerous times. In the end, no one bothered to email back, or bother to return my calls, so I ended up leaving my equipment (a loss of over 400.00) and I have no service, but they sure want me to pay them for their incompetence for ending my contract early, which was THEIR FAULT! I tried numerous times to get a clear answer and get the installer scheduled, but they refused to acknowledge me! I will probably end up with a collection, but I wont pay this horrible company. I'm the one who lost, not them! They lost no money on equipment since I paid for it and I paid them every month for service. Other companies who charge you 99.00 lose money on equipment and have to keep you contracted, but that wasn't the case for me. I'm sure if I had gone with ADT or one of those they would have been on top of moving me and they would have known their own policy. I would NOT suggest Hue and Cry. I especially would NOT recommend them to renters. They do NOT care about your move. I was told they needed 2 weeks notice and I gave them more, but they never bothered to reply. I have all the apologies from Kelsie in my emails, but that does no good when they send me to collection. If they do that, they will end up with a small claims suit because I almost had to harrass them to get them to even call or email me back! These people are really nice at first, but when you need to move or something comes up, they blow you off! This was so unprofessional I couldn't believe it! If you need clarification on a policy change, they wont give it to you. If you give them notice for your move, they wont schedule you. This 400.00+ in equipment and 30.00 a month for 12 months of use was a complete waste of my money and they want more!!!! Find a company who knows what they're talking about please!!! read more

So many dangerous false alarms in my over 55 apt. building that no one would even think there was a fire if one DID occur. I watched a very elderly woman stumble at the stairs during last week's middle-of-the-cold-night alarm. It's horrendous. They say the problem is water. The fire boxes are right over our beds. VERY stressful for elderly people who are already struggling. No quiet enjoyment, as guaranteed per lease. Not good at all - and it's been years! read more

I purchased an empty commercial building several years ago in Red Bluff, Ca as an investment property. After several squatters and incidents of vandalism I felt it was time to get a security system in the building. I met with several local companies in the Redding and Chico area and chose Hue and Cry, Inc. over the rest. Since becoming their customer several years ago, I have had nothing but positive experiences. The security system has worked as advertised and several people have been chased off the property by the authorities when the alarm has activated. The service department has been prompt and the accounting department is always easy to work with when I have billing issues questions. I would recommend Hue and Cry, Inc. to anybody with a need to secure your property and be your eyes and ears when you cannot. read more
