Had a pair of slacks that the sign said was 40% off. Got to the counter and the clerk tells me it is full price. I told her the sign says 40% off. She said anything with a .99 at the end of the price wasn't included. I was told to read the tiniest little print at the bottom of the sign which was not at my eye level. So they just put these signs up to get you to buy something then when you get to the till that's when they tell you it's not on sale. Sales woman told me it's a 50% chance that people will still pay full price as they want the item. What a DISHONEST scam!!!! The Bay should be ashamed for trying to pull the wool over everyone eyes. read more

From Watch Repair in the Bay in Market Mall, Calgary NW, Mathew did offer all the time an exceptional perfect service. Faster and not to much time to wait, very friendly and technically perfect. I am using his perfectg service for more than 4(four) years. Success to him, and best regards. In fact to all the Bay Store from Market Mall, Calgary NW. -- Michael Brydon. read more

My work colleague came in to buy some swimming trunks (for an upcoming Banff Hot Springs trip) and while there I found a nice toque at deep discount. In fact, half the store seemed to be on sale. Then came one of my more unique retail adventures. Both the elevator and the escalator were out-of-order from our location on the second floor. As we were looking for the stairs (fire code anyone?), our clerk escorted us through the back storage room and down the freight elevator! As we were riding down, comments about horror movie scenes and Jason's hockey mask came out with a smile. read more

I needed new bras and decided to give their "Bay Days" sale a shot. There was no one on the floor to offer assistance so I muddled through messy racks and found four to try on. Of these, one fit properly so I searched myself for more of the same and finally found one more. After standing in a huge line to pay, I was directed to another till midstore. Fine! When I got home I decided to check to see if the second bra was actually what the packaging said it was. There was no tag on it and it smelled of heavy perfume. It had obviously been washed as it was discolored and had lint balls on it. I don't care how much was discounted, I just paid for someone's used underwear! I am returning ALL of my purchases and, from now on, will use Amazon. Don't wonder why the big department stores are in financial trouble! read more

Haven't been to The Bay in forever. Not sure why? I was on a mission since I saw a dress in a magazine and after some research, found out The Bay carried it. Looked around for a while since I couldn't find it any where and thought I better ask someone. I was directed to the section that would carry that brand and looked some more..... No success finding the dress in the Inc. section. A bit of a bummer! After not finding the dress, I thought I would look around at the rest of The Bay to see what else they carry? They do have some cute stuff woman's clothing wise but nothing I was dying to buy. The staff was friendly and I will admit every section I did go into, if there was staff I was greeted. Always nice. Went to fragrance section and did end up buying some stuff, so not a total bust of a shopping experience. Didn't find the dress I was looking for, but will be back another time. read more

Hudson's Bay - Hudson's Bay- market mall - Department Stores Near Me - Calgary, Alberta

I ordered a sofa in store on Oct. 23 2022. The delivery day is Nov. 05,2022 which shows in my receipt. Yesterday, I stayed at home whole day to wait for the delivery. But I was so disappointed, no any call and no delivery. Today, I called customer service, he told me the delivery date is on Nov. 10, but nobody tell me the reschedule. It was a terrible in store shopping experience. It makes me so mad. I am thinking about to cancel the order. read more

It's not like you'll often catch me in The Bay, but for a very specific couple of reasons, I needed to make the special trip into this department store yesterday evening. First of all, can I just say how oddly dispersed their staff was? In some areas there were 3 people too many, and in some other areas, there was only one person, who happened to be giving a makeover and couldn't help me with what I needed to purchase. It's not like I was that customer that needed them to explain all the different products to me, I knew exactly what I wanted, who makes it and where it's available. I just needed them to ring it through and take my money. When I did finally get some service, the woman totally passed me up to another staff member. She was ridiculously snooty, and unsurprisingly, so was the other staff member that she had passed me over too. Then I continued to look around in the fragrance section and I felt like I was being watched like a hawk. The Bay staff kept hoarding around as though I was 4 years old and about to break something. Finally a man looked me right in the eyes and said "Do you have any questions?" I was like "Uh no...." proving to him that I was fully capable of speaking and asking for help if I required it. For the time that I was in The Bay, I felt like I had stumbled into a realm where it's a prerequisite for everyone to be snooty, rude and full of themselves. Last night helped me discover why I am not an avid shopper at The Bay. The chances of you catching me in there ever again are slim to none. read more

Online service - ZERO Star!!!! I bought an Olympic Tee online, only wore and washed once, both sides had holessss!!! So I emailed them and told them the quality was bad and please refund for me. But never replied my email, so I called! The staff and the supervisor both said no to me, and the supervisor had less patient and less professional customer service skills than the staff. I would say very poor skill!!! So my husband took it to Market Mall to try, the staff there just returned the money to him with no question ask or no bad attitude. But in general, I like the bay promo! read more

Watch repair: this review is specific to Watch Repair. The prices have consistently gone up and are now $16.99. They are very slow and usually a line for some reason. Go to the "Watch It" store just a 5 minute walk down the mall. They are at least $2 cheaper and are quick and friendly. They both use Swiss Renata batteries. read more

I don't see the need for all the hate on The Bay! I enjoy this location because it is less busy than the one downtown or at Chinook, usually. I agree with Melissa's advice, never to purchase something full price at The Bay. They tend to have killer sales if you wait for them. Just this week, I scored a pair of half price vegan boots...at this price, I won't feel bad if I have to pay to get them resoled in the future, or if I buy a new pair next year, as many comparable fashion boots from other stores come with quite a high price tag. I do miss when The Bay used to carry Levi's jeans which they phased out of this year, because I became accustomed to buying my favourites there for about $30 whenever there was a Bay days sale. I noticed most of the complaints revolve around the cosmetics counters in other reviews, which I can't really speak to. When MAC was still cruelty free, I found the girls at The Bay here really friendly. The counter was usually fully staffed and I always chose this over the other MAC location in the mall. Now that they aren't, however, I take my makeup needs to Sephora or teh interwebz. You're alright, The Bay. *Review 2/30 of Yelp's 30 Day Challenge 2012 read more

i do not know how many times in the past year I have been in this store and the escalator is out of service. There are no stairs for access to the second floor and some of us detest elevators of any type! Can they not fix the escalator once and for all so that it is not constantly broken? read more

I shopped once at Clinique but it wasn't great never go back. First of all, I guess it is not a busy counter at all. I have not seen many customers when I every time I pass there. I know now why. The SA has horrible manner. No knowledge about their products. They can not even find a match for my foundation. A SA called me "insane" when I returned the product.Rude. I would go to Sephora instead they carry fresher stocks and SA are nicer. read more

I usually come here for only two things: to get watch batteries replaced, and to buy wedding or birthday presents. That's it! Not a store I spend a lot of time in. read more

The Bay is terrible for the way they treat their own staff! They use a system out of the USA so staff rarely get two days off in a row and morale is very low! The Managers are terrible and interrogate the staff when they call in sick and expect a reason why they are calling in with details! Such a shame from a company that use to be Canadian owned! read more

This review is for the men's section. The service is terrible. My husband had bought his a two piece suit from there earlier last year, he wore it once and the second time he wore the suit tore from the hip down. We took it back to mens wear talked to the staff. Tired to talk to the manger but she would come out and see. They kept saying she's not available to come out but kept saying they can't fix it without looking at it. They seemed to not care at all. They have the worst costumer service by the men's wears manger and top of that the exchanging it such a hassle. I don't think we would ever shop there again. read more

I'm only going to speak about the Optical Department because I like the bay otherwise. I ordered a pair of prescription sunglasses there 3 weeks ago today. A week after they called me and said the glasses were ready. Upon arriving, I was shocked to find the glasses did not let me focus on anything - the lady at the counter confirmed that the focus point on one of the lenses was wrong, which is forgivable if they are willing to fix it. She assured me the pair would get sent back and fixed ASAP. I got a call the next day saying my glasses were ready! I was excited and thought ASAP really meant ASAP. My excitement was quickly destroyed as I realized they never sent the defective pair away and never marked it defective, so the lady just called me again about the same glasses. So that's 2 wasted trips to the Bay by this point. Today marks 3 weeks since I ordered, and over a week since they supposedly sent them back to be fixed. I called in to check up, and was told that the lab broke the lens so they have to start all over again and it will take another week. That's a month, ideally. Probably won't be ready next week either. Pretty disappointed at this point, not going to lie. I should have ordered anywhere else at all and would have had them last week. read more

This review is for the Clinique counter. Just terrible in general. I've come to this counter on a number of occasions and not once has anyone come approach me for help. If it not for Sephora not carrying a lot of their products I wouldn't come here if I could help it. The Bay is going the way of the dinosaur if they can't ramp up their customer service the way Nordstrom, Holt Renfrew, and Sephora treat their customers. My last visit here I waited at least a good 7-10 minutes before I decided to just leave and order online. The SA was clearly there just unpacking Christmas packages and not interested in helping me at all. Can you see people hanging around your counter in the corner of your eye? I'm sure you can! All it takes is a hello, and could you wait a sec I'll be right there! The Bay is intimidating for the average consumer to shopping in. No one needs this kind of treatment or service. read more

This is for the watch repair at Market Mall. I had to replace the battery on my Skagen watch. I knew that for my watch, I had to send it in to a Skagen authorized repair shop since the breaking the crystal face was a possibility. The lady at the counter told me I could do that but I could also just have her change it for less cost if I signed a waiver. Assured that she has done many, I signed the waiver and she changed it in under a minute after I signed the waiver! Excellent work! Saved time and money. read more

this is a fadulent company that charges credit cards of customers and never processes the online orders. please do not buy online!

My wardrobe is FULL of great clothes that I bought at The Bay. Even as a high school student I knew how to make the most of their sales (my grad dress was from The Bay - regularly $220 on sale for $56 at the last minute!), and I've been devoting an hour or two to their end-of-season sale racks each season since. Just last week I was in The Bay at Market Mall and found a beautiful, on-trend blazer (perfect for transitioning into fall) that was regularly $198, marked down to $58, PLUS an extra 50% off the last marked price! The trick at The Bay is never to buy anything full price, and to go prepared to sort through the disastrously-organized higher-end sale racks (Rachel Roy, Halston Heritage, Calvin Klein, BCBG Generation, etc.). Skip all of their house brands, don't expect the employees to be able to provide accurate information, and prepare to wait in endless lines at the cash register... and you'll get great clothes at prices so low you'll feel like you need to run out to your car before the cashier realizes she's made a mistake! read more

Sophia Yao IS THE WORST SHISEIDO customer service representative at the Market Mall Hudson Bay location in Calgary. (She's the Asian woman that is short, wears glasses and a bit chunky, or just look at her name tag.) As I approach the counter, she immediately starts speaking to me in Chinese. I have no idea what she just said but ignored it and told her the purpose of my visit. Very simple. I wanted to exchange the BIO performance cream with a different one as the cream was heavy on my face. She didn't understand English. I had to repeat it back to her several times. After that was done, she told me it was not possible as Shiseido doesn't do refunds, I've done refunds before at Shiseido so I knew that was not the case. I explained that to her and she went over to MAC counter and the girl said that they do it all the time. So then she came back and proceeded with the exchange. She asked if I had my 10% coupon as it was on my receipt. How would I still have my coupon when I've already given it to the other representative when I first purchased the product? I responded that I don't have the coupon anymore but it's clearly on my receipt. She calls the TD Hudson Bay where I originally purchased the cream but they were closed for the day. She told me she couldn't do the return until she calls the store and gets the 10% off. What made things worse was she told me I had to return my gift set. In order to get the gift, you had to purchased a minimum $43. The new one I wanted was the WrinkleResist 24 night cream which was $72. Why would I need to give my gift set back? I was at the counter for 45 minutes trying to get this fixed, at the end I finally gave up and left. A WASTE OF TIME. Sophia is NOT qualified to be Shiseido's representative. In fact, she is giving Shiseido a bad name and reputation. I can't believe Shiseido would hire someone with such bad manners and can't speak English. If Chinese people are your target market, a sign should be put up to say only Chinese speaking people. There should at least be someone that can speak English at the counter... I went to TD Hudson Bay downtown the next day and was able to get my exchange done in 5 minutes. Thuy was very helpful and understanding. read more
