He was supposed to call ahead to let us know when he'd be arriving, but instead showed up without notice. Part of the agreement included filling in all cracks before sealing, but several were left untouched. He also promised to apply two coats of sealant but barely managed one -- and the coverage was noticeably uneven. His equipment broke down multiple times (including different machines), causing a four-day delay in what should have been a straightforward job. It was clear throughout the process that he lacked the necessary knowledge and expertise for the work. To make matters worse, he caused a scene at the end, demanding payment despite the poor quality and incomplete work. We do not recommend Richards General Contracting for any commercial or professional sealing projects.

They were concerned that I shouldn't just let anyone have access to my security cameras and wanted to assist at no charge and just "being a good neighbor". Wow, who does THAT anymore? Today everyone wants a Benjamin. In any event, turns our T-Mobile doesn't work well for me so I kept my current internet provider and didn't need for them to come out. That said, I did need my gutters cleaned. They provided a "no pressure" and very affordable estimate after driving past my house (took a photo) so I didn't need to be present. The estimate was not just for cleaning the gutters but removing the gutter guards and rinsing every out. I had quite the mess up there. You can see from the photos they provided me with after the job how bad it was. Photos of before and after? Yes. THEY DO THAT!!!! Their Technicians, Rachell and Vasil were here two hours and did a fabulous job. They gave me a window of time from 11 - 1:30 and they were here within that window. Both of them were quite the team. When I pulled out my checkbook to give them a check, they said "we'll email it to you". Seriously???? They also did a review via email from the owner regarding the job and the overall condition of my roof, and what could be improved. I can't thank them enough. I will be referring them to my friends and coworkers. They stay in constant contact with you via text & email letting you know when the techs are arriving and throughout the whole process. The unit had been cleaned over the years and 6 years ago, after I got divorced, I had a chimney cleaner come out and he told me the unit should have been vented out the side because of the type of unit it was. He still got on the roof and checked things out, but charged me a $60 for coming out, even though he didn't do anything. I haven't used the unit since. Last year, I heard a bird in the pipe and it even got down into the stove and I had to rescue it. I've since heard other birds in there, so I reached out to A+ Chimney Sweep to have them clean the chimney and check the cap. I figured a second opinion wouldn't hurt and they can at least clean the chimney from the roof, even though I had no intention of going back to using the woodstove. Now, I admit I'm very naïve when it comes to chimney/fireplace stuff, but I totally feel taking advantage of as a single woman trying to have her home serviced. Chris came out and without going on the roof, told me that there is a cap on my chimney and there is nothing he can do about the birds, they can still get in. I told him what the previous guy told me about the stove inside and he agreed that it was poorly installed and he couldn't clean it, then he proceeded to tell me nothing could be done and he had to charge me the full $170 for coming out. When I showed my disbelief, he responded that he should actually charge me more for the 30 mile/hr roads to get here. As far as I know, they are only in Sparrowbush which is just over 1/2 hr from me. I asked if he could at least get on the roof and clean from there and he said no, he doesn't want the liability because the stove isn't properly installed. Totally disappointed and feeling ripped off.

Unfortunately I was not home when she was finished so she left and I sent her the money. BIG MISTAKE. This house does not take 3 hours to clean and by no means should this work be at $100/hr rate. Some of the house was clean, most of it (the parts you get a cleaning service for) was not. The house was recently renovated so needed a deep cleaning. I am in the middle of sanding the stairs and they were left in the same condition she walked into. The rag in the pictures are what I used to clean them after she left. When I called her she said she mopped them, swept them, and vacuumed. You be the judge? The baseboards downstairs were not clean - visual dust without even bending down, fridge was left the same, oven top not cleaned, even the bathroom niche was dirty, food cans in open cabinets just pushed to the back to make it seem like contents were taken out and cabinet properly wiped down. I can go on and on and could have taken way more photos, but don't want to waste anymore time on this. I contacted her right away and sent pictures. She said she couldn't get the photos and hours later said she would reimburse me $50 and a free cleaning. Why in the world would I want her to "clean" again. This was nothing but a headache. The biggest job I've hired him for so far was to brace/strengthen and refinish my deck. I had the decking replaced last year, but didn't get around to finishing it after it had seasoned. A year passed and the wood was starting to look dry and cracked. My little daughter couldn't go out barefoot anymore because she would get splinters every time. Kris gave me a competitive quote and made an excellent recommendation on a material to refinish and protect the decking. Now the deck looks brand new, it has a little bit of texture to provide traction if it's wet, no more splinters, and it's super easy to clean. It was an all-day job for Kris and two helpers, and I couldn't be happier. I appreciate that Kris is willing to do some little jobs too. I hired him to clean my gutters, and another time I hired him to do some repair work and repainting to part of the exterior of my house.
