We spent a tone of time on the beach which had everything we needed from life jackets, kayaks, firewood, chairs, etc. Everything was clean and cozy. This morning, Waterfront sent me an email telling me the cruise was "cancelled." They also claimed to have tried contacting me via email and phone. Both claims from Waterfront are lies. I checked Waterfront's own website after receiving the email and the cruise I booked was sold out. I then called to inquire and was told they scheduled an event, so I was essentially kicked off and completely disregarded. I've attached pictures as proof. If you're considering booking a cruise around Lake George, I strongly suggest you book with a company who has ethics, standards and class.

We went out on the Adirondack and the boat was large enough for all the patrons on board but by far it seemed that the best seats on board were on the upper level. The lower levels were challenging to see the fireworks because most of the windows didn't open and the best option for seeing was to go outside to the staircase. Even there the roof overhead made for difficult viewing. There are other options in the area for viewing fireworks by boat and we would most likely try a different boat- either with this company or another in the same area. All of the staff were friendly and made getting on and off rather easy.

I was worried my little Honda would revolt. The sites were clean and level, and each had a firepit and picnic table. A pickup truck makes the rounds a few times per day selling firewood, ice and worms, or you can just drive a few minutes out of the site toward Ticonderoga and pick up your own. It was a short walk to the restrooms and showers, which were the cleanest of any campground I'd ever been to. Honestly, I was impressed! A slightly longer walk took us to the pond itself, where you can rent canoes, fish, or just relax and take in the picturesque view. We hiked the Lost Pond Trail, and it was very clearly marked. No need for a map. Lost Pond is gorgeous! Keep your food in your car or cooler when unattended. The red squirrels are cute, but brazen! Bring lots of bug spray. No matter the activities, the Park is dedicated to the World War I veteran known as "The Fighting Marine" (Gene Tunney), who after Boxing during the war in France later faced off with the great Jack Dempsey and "The Fighting Marine" took the belt from Dempsey (1926). Then in a rematch Tunney held steadfast to the Belt (1927). Why? His post-war training camp was right here in the Town of Speculator! A Wartime Marine chum encouraged him to set up Camp here in Town. Following the two successful bouts with Dempsey and others, the Camp became known as the "Camp for Would-Be Champions" sporting other titled boxers. Love the Native American performance they do around the fire, and the bingo, karaoke and silent disco are nice touches! My favorite is the tubing available on the river. The only improvement I'd recommend is to have designated 18+ and family weekends. It was clear both times that the campsite was divided between rowdier 29/30 something's who were celebrating and wanted to drink, play music and laugh into later hours, and tents of families who were awake early and going to bed early (maybe even divide the property in half?). We are campers. We camp in the woods, on the islands of Lake George, way up north in the Adirondacks, etc. but thought this might be a different, fun, and easy way to glamp! The website and the maps provided are very deceiving. We picked a spot "along the River" because on the map, it shows the sites on the river. However, you cannot see or hear the River from the "riverside" tents. The map also isn't to scale. According to the map, the sites are spread out, but in reality, they are right on top of each other. Anyhow, it's pretty much just a big field with no trees or shade with a ton of tents plopped on it. On a hot day, there is no escape from the heat. The tents get so hot! The staff is nice and they keep the place very clean. There is a fire pit, picnic table with cover, trash can, and zero gravity chairs at each tent. The bed was comfortable! The reason I purchased this different type of camping package was because there was a Groupon. I can assure you, that even for the discounted price of $315 for two nights, it is not worth the experience. I feel like they have the potential to offer more, for less. Kayaks should not cost money to rent for people staying on the premises! They should plant some trees or some sort of barrier for the tents that are directly next to the road, etc. We will not be returning to Adirondack Safari.
