In short, Dan Pape & Hudson Parker Reality got us into the home we didn't even know we wanted and couldn't be happier with.
In May 2013, my wife and I decided to purchase our FIRST home. We were referred to Dan through friends who had used him. By the end of the year - in a tough market & low inventory - we were moved in and hosting the holiday with family and friends.
Patient - Honestly, we didn't really know what we were looking for, our true budget or even what was important to us. Not once did Dan get impatient as he took us to up to 5 showings a week. In stead, Dan was very constructive to ask what we liked, didn't like and commented on the reality of our thoughts so we could better shape our perspective.
Listening - Perhaps Dan's best quality, Dan listened to what we told him, what we told each other, our random comments in showings and questions we asked the showing agents. He quickly was able to figure out what was important to us, steer us to properties we wanted to see and comment on the pros/cons in a way we could relate to. We ended up in a bigger place and a different part of town than we intended because Dan understood what we wanted vs. what we were asking for.
Honesty - Dan was open and honest about our thoughts and also on the properties. With his opinions, he was told his thoughts on maintenance, schools, locations, noise... everything. He was frank when I was unreasonable and exposed some of the hidden issues as we looked at properties.
Engagement - Dan was responsive and personally engaged at every moment we needed him. You can imagine that a realtor's life is hectic with weekend and evening showings balanced with persona/family life. Dan was up front when he had a previous commitment but worked with our schedule to make sure we were always supported. As we asked questions or for information, he was not only prompt, but provided the additional info we would need. Dan sat with us through the inspection, the closing, the walk thoughs and really took an interest to make sure we were not surprised, well informed and happy with our decisions before we made a mistake. He may have been buying the house himself.
Connections - The real benefit HPRG offers over the larger companies is their loyal client base. Dan has built up a network of home owners, inspectors, lawyers and contractors who are the small business, quality minded folks you want helping you. Our inspector was top notch, lawyers patient and perfect and we were even able to get initial contracting work done with Dan's help. These people work with Dan because they know him and his client base well. It is really an asset as a new home owner.
It has been a month since we finished the process. Dan still checks in with us and we have regular conversations.
In the end, we are in a place we couldn't even conceive of when we started. Dan's help through viewing, selection, financing, inspections, closing and moving was more help than I expected from anyone other than family. I cannot imagine where I would be if I had not used Hudson Parker.
